At Least 2 People injured in in School Shooting, Centennial, Colorado

Whom are we mourning? I thought no one died? Well actually I figured because the news wasn't really covering it.

I think the scumbag who assaulted two others died. All I can say is good riddance-its too bad he wasn't shot down before he could injure two innocents

It's not rednecks I fear. It's paranoid people I fear. Now can we please stop the griping and use this thread to mourn yet another school shooting tragedy, no strings attached? Or is that too much to ask?

many of the gun haters are the most paranoid in this area

Some people around here need to be less touchy and just stick to the issue at hand.

Says the guy that brought us "OH MAH GAWD THE BIG-GUV'MINT LIBRULS ARE GUNNA TAKE AWAY MAH GUNZ! NEED MOAR GUNZ!" You are a joke.

This one was really close to home; literally and figuratively. Arapahoe is our high school.

My wife was driving within blocks of the school at 12:30ish MST (when this was unfolding). She witnessed at least a dozen sheriffs cars, unmarked police and fire/rescue vehicles all heading toward AHS at full speed with light ablazing. She called me to ask if I knew what was happening. I was listening to local radio... nothing. We were seeing this story before anyone else. Every cop in the county racing toward a high school on a school day? We both knew exactly what was happening (a sad commentary that we have come to accept these things in the normal course of business).

Of course, while this was physically close, had we not made the decision to home school, my daughter would have been there today. The thought went quickly into my mind (again, we knew there was a shooting there before we heard any details, our minds went toward the mass carnage scenario that has played out far too often).... After I breathed a sigh of relief that my daughter was not there, my "thoughts and prayers.." went quickly to my neighbors and friends. Though I lived 20 miles from Columbine, I knew two families through 2nd degree of separation that lost sons and daughters there.... now I was probably facing knowing people first hand.

I am so thankful that in the spectrum of school shootings this was rather benign. I had the misfortune here of knowing not enough, too early, too close that put me on a big emotional roller coaster today. I had a very small taste of what this might be like for a parent. Wow! For far too many parents, however, they actually have to experience the worry that their son or daughter was randomly murdered for doing nothing more than going to school. What an ugly thing to experience; and its experienced in far too many places far too often. I really wish people would wake up and take this issue more seriously. We all should be ashamed of what is happening here.

Wow. Glad you and your family are okay.

So you fear yourself… interesting.

You can't bitch about putting it back on track when you started off with your stupid degrading post.

Says the guy that brought us "OH MAH GAWD THE BIG-GUV'MINT LIBRULS ARE GUNNA TAKE AWAY MAH GUNZ! NEED MOAR GUNZ!" You are a joke.

If this is an attempt at trolling, then it's a pathetically weak one. Instead, you're just confirming your tendency to be hypersensitive and not objective to this issue.

Oh, and Turtledude, you're still responding to my posts as if I somehow took you off my ignore list. Not gonna happen. And Arbo is about to join you.

I think it's against the rules to talk about putting people on your ignore list, I think it's considered trolling or some such. I may be wrong.

But no, I am not trolling, I am pointing out the reality that you started all of this with your little comment trying to play off gun owners as uneducated dumb asses, then you cry about getting things back on topic. Sorry, this was all your doing.

But it doesn't surprise me you'd want to put those that have handed you your ass on the topic on ignore. It's probably a long list, as it's easy you hand you your ass.

Yep, you're just trolling. Have a good day. :2wave:

Oh, is that whom the libs are "mourning"

I understand you do not want to admit your initial 'dumb rednecks' post was trolling, but it is quite obvious to everyone that reads it. You failed and got called out for it, and now have pouted and taken your ball and went home. The great part is no matter who you put on ignore, they can still smack down every dumb word you say. :lamo Have a great day!

I see this thread is going to take the "Political BS" route instead of the "I hope everyone else gets out okay."

Does hoping out loud in public, to be seen by others, make your liberal bones feel better. Are the children safer because of your wishing? No, not in the least, but it makes YOU feel good. And this thread is after all about how you feel isn't it?

In our country, thousands and thousands of unemployed veterans. thousands retired police officers. To protect the schools they do not even have to use a deadly weapon. There are rubber bullets 12 caliber, what confidently knocked down a man within 15 yards. And only despicable attitude of the authorities and the teachers' union does not allow us to protect our children and grandchildren.

The sad part is....is that we will probably be going through this again in about 15-18 days.

Interesting …

Arapahoe High gunman held strong political beliefs, classmates said - The Denver Post

Thomas Conrad, who had an economics class with Pierson, described him as very opinionated.

"He was exuberant I guess," Conrad said. "A lot of people picked on him, but it didn't seem to bother him."

In one Facebook post, Pierson attacks the philosophies of economist Adam Smith who through his invisible hand theory pushed the notion that the free market was self-regulating. In another post, he describes himself as "Keynesian."

"...I was wondering to all the neoclassicals and neoliberals, why isn't the market correcting itself?" he wrote. "If the invisible hand is so strong, shouldn't it be able to overpower regulations?"

Pierson also appears to mock Republicans on another Facebook post, writing "you republicans are so cute" and posting an image that reads: "The Republican Party: Health Care: Let 'em Die, Climate Change: Let 'em Die, Gun Violence: Let 'em Die, Women's Rights: Let 'em Die, More War: Let 'em Die. Is this really the side you want to be on?"

…..

The media breeds this ****...... Every unpopular kid in the US who gets their feelings hurt damn well know if they go psycho they will be infamous if they shoot their school up.

This has nothing to do with guns and everything to do with the emotionally unstable youth progressives breed..

Funny how my generation had none of this **** yet more guns were around...

We would just beat the **** out of one another - figure out we shared something in common after the fight then become good friends.

Then don't start your little trolling games with your fake redneck little quotes.

The only problem here is you.

At least we don't live in Canada.

BTW, how's your crack-head mayor doing?

The funny thing is, like most Americans you probably don't even know where Canada is. Clue: we're to the North.

You're just desperate today, aren't you?

No, it's about a school shooting.

HINT: Read the OP.

Exactly, the anti gun posters generally have issues dealing with facts

that is silly and stupid. you confuse not caring with not knowing

You think your puny little hope with make a difference to those children? Typical leftwing politics. I'm not desperate, you are; desperate for relevance.

Probably not. Doesn't hurt though.

Typical leftwing politics.

Typical right wing nonsense.

I'm not desperate, you are; desperate for relevance.

Why would I be desperate for relevance?

Also, dat projection.
