Like I said, he is likely in jail right now and will probably stay there until the Court of Appeals completes its review of the sentence. The case you mentioned is also much more complicated than the one in Texas. I don't know the details, not the least of the reasons why that the girl waited 7 years to report the crime. Unlike the Texas case, are there mitigating circumstances? I don't know, so I'm not going to say what the punishment should be or even if I agree with the verdict.

The family and the company will be bankrupt before this is over and I would bet that when he gets out of rehab he will drink again which means he will go to jail.

I hope the rehab place that costs $450,000 for one year of treatment gets their money up front.

Drunks can't stay away from alcohol.

My point being that the world was very different back then. The country was not so much of a police state where every step gets punished.

I am not excusing what happened, but things were easier to talk your way out of back then.
