Rep. James Sensenbrenner Jr. doesn’t mince his words.

The Wisconsin Republican says the House and Senate Intelligence committees have become “cheerleaders” for the National Security Agency.

“Instead of putting the brakes on overreaches, they’ve been stepping on the gas,” he said of the committees, which are led by Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.).

The NSA spies on everything and no one gives a F. The author of the Patriot Act? One of the most vile pieces of legislature ever that is unpatriotic and condemns The People to a life of subjugation to whim of State? I mean, he wasn't really that far removed.

That's the whole point, things are so bad with the NSA that even the author of that liberty crushing Patriot Act is complaining.

Given that the Patriot Act started us down this slippery slope, maybe the guy responsible for it should shut his stupid yap.

I don't think he should shut his yap at all - if anyone knows about impeding individual liberty it's him. Yes his stupid law opened the door but this whitehouse decided to expand the neo-con policy beyond anything that could have passed with Bush. The best thing about it? Since it's a (D) doing all the expanding, no protests, no 24x7 coverage of the protests. It's all nice and quiet like...
 
So the point is that we've had criminals running the country for some time and if people would stop being partisan, perhaps we could apprehend them all.

The Due Process Clause's of the Fifth and Fourteenth amendments of the constitution.

Fifth Amendment:

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.​

Fourteenth Amendment:

Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.​

He's already explained that the NSA is misinterpreting the law.
 
And violating the fourth amendment in the process. And getting away with it as so many other agencies are attacking our other civil liberties.
