You just regurgitate propaganda. One of the biggest reasons (after an aging boomer population) that the nation has lowering crime rates is because we jail repeat offenders. Its been VERY effective in removing career criminals from the population. Other nations dont have the resources to do this-we do. Your little chart does not account for population growth, improved law enforcement, and a building of prisons to actually house these criminals. But Im sure pictures are fun to look at n stuff.
And I dont care if they are violent crimes or not-crime is crime and anyone who commits enough major crime to get 3 distinct convictions-needs to go away. I would also support the option for them to be air dropped onto a remote prison island, where they can eat coconuts and scam each other until they drop.
Let me guess, socialist. We should not jail them-because the great expense is about "greed". Of course this means more crime, and being a socialist that make things more favorable to your ideology, it all goes back to critical theory.
Let me guess, socialist. We should compassionately rehab these patients-because prison isnt about removing criminals from the population or punishment, but "education".
My state is filled with hippies with this failed line of thinking, and it got us the highest recidivism rate in the country-70 percent.

Which brings me back full circle-70% of the guys in prison will quickly return to a life of crime (if 70% are caught and reconvicted, think how many aren't). So you tell me, socialist, is it better to keep the insane cycle repeating or to keep them in prison?
Here are the charts you should have posted, socialist.
