US, Iran nuclear deal spurs bipartisan concern in Congress

I'm confused too. I thought its the US GOP leadership who thinks a messianic figure will arise (the anti-Christ) and lead us into a world ending war and The Rapture.

Bachmann Predicted The World Would End In 2006: 'We Are In The Last Days' | ThinkProgress

Or is our superstition and imaginary sky friend better than their superstition and imaginary sky friend? So confused....

Mornin TG. :2wave: I was confused.....once; going way back in the day.....but then the Reverends and Ministers of the DNP reminded me that no matter what happens. To say one is sorry. That they misspoke and when all else fails, to come with.....The Devil Made me do it.

From then on things were always crystal clear.

I dont think its because he's muslim-its because he's liberal. Liberals can't stand Israel-often even Jewish liberals. :/

Which is why Jews never vote for democrats ... HEY! WAIT A MINUTE! Didn't Obama get the Jewish vote -comfortably? hmmmmmm ... I guess Jews are just like blacks, huh? They simply don't know what is best for them, do they? If you want to find critics of Israeli policy, you can go to Israel ... there are many Israelis there who are very critical of Bibi and his and his party's positions ...

Man, you must have been celebrating that win over Edmonton a little too hard last night.

Yep, the same sorts of people that in their day thought that Neville Chamberlain had indeed achieved peace in his time....;) They were wrong too.

J-Mac ... I see you're still parroting the 2012 GOP line ... Chamberlain? Really? that's so ... so ... so 2012 ... but tell me, how does it feel to root against your country and peace?

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Iran, 6 world powers reach deal on Iranian nuclear program

Agreed. It was hard to accept when I came to the realization-but liberals done CARE if Iran gets nukes. They think any nation should have the right. They dont like Israel. They dont want to appear prejudicial (as if Iran is a bad actor by any measure). And they hate the US for having nukes, and having used them.

Its more about hating the US than anything else, frankly-and many libs will admit it. Its how they roll.

I would respectfully submit that Iran is a known bad actor. Their support of Hezbollah in Lebanon and the recurring firing of rockets into Israel from time to time is well known, and is a prime example of their exporting and supporting terrorism.

Now imagine Hezbollah in Lebanon with rockets with Iranian nuclear warheads. Not a pretty picture.

With their known support of terrorist organizations, now imagine a terrorist cell sneaking in an Iranian warhead into say New York harbor. Also not a pretty picture.

From what I've head, there is no mandate to dismantle nor cease nor slow down plutonium enrichment. Plutonium is the nuclear ingredient in fission nuclear weapons. That is it's sole purpose. If this it correct, this is where this deal really falls down. But hey, maybe this is just an oversight by Obama's administration, and he being a 'big picture guy' couldn't be bothered with this significant detail.

I prefer to see it as rooting against our President, and his administration getting played on the world stage....But, it really isn't anything new to liberal demo administrations, after all N. Korea can tell us that. ;)

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Iran, 6 world powers reach deal on Iranian nuclear program

It KILLS liberals to say they are proud of their country (because they aren't). We are just part of the herd, and liberals are herd animals.

Being proud of your country is one thing, thinking it is better than everywhere else is quite another. If we're the best, then we don't need to improve anything, right? Just keep everything as it is, since, after all, we're the best.

And labeling anyone who disagrees with your point of view on any subject as a "liberal" and just lumping them all together as such is not the same as independent thinking. It is quite the opposite, in fact.

please share with us which liberal president was in the white house when north korea violated the non-proliferation agreement it had entered into
yes, let us know which liberal administration was unable to monitor and enforce such an agreement
i look forward to your response

Um, that would be Bill Clinton....

1993
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) charges that North Korea is violating the NPT and demands that inspectors be given access to two nuclear waste storage sites.

North Korea threatens to quit the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty amid suspicions that it is developing nuclear weapons. It ultimately does not quit the program but agrees to inspections in 1994.

1994
North Korea and U.S. sign an agreement. North Korea pledges to freeze and eventually dismantle its nuclear weapons program in exchange for international aid to build two power-producing nuclear reactors.

1998
August 31 - North Korea fires a multistage rocket that flies over Japan and lands in the Pacific Ocean, proving the North Koreans can strike any part of Japan's territory.

November 17 - The U.S. and North Korea hold the first round of high-level talks in Pyongyang over North Korea's suspected construction of an underground nuclear facility. The United States demands inspections.

1999
February 27-March 16 - During a fourth round of talks, North Korea allows U.S. access to the site in exchange for U.S. aid in increasing North Korean potato yields. U.S. inspectors find no evidence of any nuclear activity during a visit to site in May.

September 13 - North Korea agrees to freeze testing of long-range missiles while negotiations with the U.S. continue.

September 17 - President Bill Clinton agrees to ease economic sanctions against North Korea.
December - A U.S.-led international consortium signs a $4.6 billion contract to build two nuclear reactors in North Korea.

Hmmmm....So Clinton comes in and eases sanctions while NK continues to build a bomb, and extort America, then he actually gives NK two reactors, and surprise, surprise....They have the bomb....

And your revision would be?

So has any response been given by the Saud? They are not to happy about this and they already have mentioned in words about not Trusting the US.

Which then it isn't just the Israelis that might do something. As the Saud already fear what Iran is capable of.

Update: Israel's Netanyahu is said to have rebuked Obama. Moreover.....Team Obama admitted to the phone call but did not say anything about Netanyahu. Now its up in the Israeli News saying Obama was rebuked. Also the new wrinkle will be the Israelis coming to the US for the final deal with Iran.

Netanyahu Rebukes Obama in Phone Call About Iran Deal.....

Since the Iran nuclear deal was announced on Sunday, top Republicans and Democrats have blasted it, former Ambassador to the UN John Bolton called the deal an “abject surrender by the United States,” and one of our closest allies is “extremely angry,” to say the least. That ally, as you well know by now, is Israel. And the Sunday phone call between the two world leaders went just as you would imagine.

The Jerusalem Post reports:

A lawmaker from Netanyahu's Likud faction told an Israeli television station earlier on Monday that the premier rebuked US President Barack Obama over the interim agreement agreed upon by the Western powers and Iran on Sunday.

"The prime minister made it clear to the most powerful man on earth that if he intends to stay the most powerful man on earth, it's important to make a change in American policy because the practical result of his current policy is liable to lead him to the same failure that the Americans absorbed in North Korea and Pakistan, and Iran could be next in line," Likud Beytenu MK Tzachi Hanegbi told the Knesset Channel.....snip~

i am unable to express just how much delight i had in reading that
that bastard, bibi, who oppresses Palestinians, builds housing on land that is not israel's, who wants another nation to comply with a NPT agreement his nation refuses to sign or abide by, and who would not listen when Obama asked for a cessation of new homesteads to allow peace talks to move forward, now insists Obama doesn't get it
this is Obama's way of telling bibi, "UP YOURS". and kudos to the president for that!

the house of saud, a perpetual violator of human rights, previously pissed at the shrub for turning iraq into a shia led satellite of iran, now sees that yet more diplomatic progress is being made with the USA by another shia dominated nation. loving this!

Israel has no say in reducing Iran's obligations. They've nothing to do with it. Iran ratified the NPT of their own accord and are rightfully obligated to the commitments the regime made.

Member states are expected to hold members to treaties they have willingly ratified. Not all states ratify the same treaties. Learn something about how the UN works.

Heya JB. :2wave: Yeah, and I don't think it will stop them from wanting their own program anyways. Nor from obtaining nukes from Pakistan.

Lets not forget where the Saud walk.....the Sunni follow, heads Bowed.

your understanding of history is weak
dicknbush were in the white house during the october 2006 detonation of north korea's initial nuclear test
why did they allow NK to violate the agreements that had been entered into?

which tells us that we should not elect another republican regime, because based on historic precedence, a GOP led white house will not enforce this agreement with iran

and iran is demonstrating its willingness to comply with the NPT it signed and abides by. yet that is found inadequate by the neo-zionists

meanwhile israel refuses to sign the NPT but pretends it has standing to whine when another nation is found to be out of compliance with the NPT accords. the hypocrisy of israel regarding another nation's failure to comply with the NPT is laughable

False. Iran is in violation of the NPT.

You obviously know nothing about the UN, how treaties work or even Iran's compliance. It's no wonder that you propose such idiocy as not holding member states to their self-imposed obligations.

It does not matter what Israel did or is doing.

Iran is rightfully held to its self-imposed obligations by every member state.

You don't think.....That will stop them from having their say about this agreement or any other assurances they will be looking for, now?

What did come out of the phone call, however, was an agreement that an Israeli diplomatic team would come to the US in the coming days to discuss a final agreement with Iran.....snip~
