Mossadegh wasn't democratically elected. He was selected by parliament, after the sitting prime minister was assissinated. After he took power, he dissolved the parliament and installed himself as dictator.

Wow.

Reading some of these responses, I'd swear, some of you are pissed off about our suddenly reduced chances of bombing Iran. I'll remember this the next time someone describes libertarianism as "peaceful."

But it's okay. I'll take comfort in knowing that John Kerry and several other world leaders have just helped to make the world a safer place. :)

At the very least, they created a good pretense to bomb/sanction Iran later.

Libertarians are for peace. These folks calling themselves libertarian while promoting war... they are flat out lying to themselves and they have some serious identiy issues... not to mention they won't vote libertarian when a republican is running.

No it did not. You haven't a clue as to what you are talking about. This is not new. Read something not put out there by a murdoch organization and enlighten yourself to some truth.

They used to be. But ever since Obama took office, the word "libertarian" has come to mean something entirely different.

You speak of people who lie, and then accuse others of PROMOTING war. As if they are the ones violating sanctions, human rights, prior treaties, and the IAEA.

My info has been different over the years. Iran can go and has gone above 20%, which seems to be the relevant level. If a country has that technical capability, it seems, it can go all the way. But even 20% is enough for an inefficient weapon.

Nah... not really. What you are seeing is a bunch of self-proclaimed ex-pat republicans claiming to be libertarian because its just too embarrassing to say they are republicans anymore... yet they still vote GOP down the ticket. Libertarians havent changed. Don't be fooled by these GOPer's phony change of clothes. It's just republicans who've pretended to change their flag. So basically, aside from GOPers lying to themselves about who they are, no one has changed.

Umm, Russia would make him disappear pretty quickly or let Iran handle it personally. A joint program is only as strong as your weakest link and if the Russian tech infected Iranian computers whats not to say he didn't cause problems for Russians or the Russia didn't want any risk of that happening to them?

If you read the link I gave you, in this deal they have to halt all enrichment over 5% and they have to "Neutralise its stockpile of near-20% uranium". This is good news.

Read up on the history of Irans nuclear program-its a series of stepping over lines-anyone who thinks they aren't stalling is smoking something.
Of note-hillary clinton specifically stated Iran would never be allowed to develop low grade nuclear material even for peaceful purposes-but here we are.
I wonder if that will come up down the line towards election time?
