America's top UN diplomat has high praise for 'Hanoi Jane' [W:306]

Oh, I fully understand why people don't like her. Hell, I don't like her. But when people up there start mentioning her in the same breath as the goddamn Khmer Rouge, then maybe it's time for a little perspective.

The propaganda voiced by Jane Fonda, and many others, led to America's withdrawal from Vietnam and the rise of the Khymer Rouge, as well as the Boat People too of course.

Is that a quote from an interview she gave some time ago or a reference from a book she authored? If so, can you provide a link or the reference source? I'm just curious as to it's origin.

There is lots of documentation of HJ's actions during the Viet Nam War and up to the present. Google Jane Fonda, I, a socialst. The quote was repeated many times in speeches, primarily to young college students.

Yes, and until there are court decisions mandating what constitutes giving aid and comfort OR legal precedents, your opinion that Jane Fonda is guilty of treason remains solely in the realm of your opinion.

:doh

DUDE.

IT. DOES. NOT. WORK. LIKE. THAT.

:2brickwal

But you think whatever you want.

What, exactly, was our terms of victory in Vietnam? It wasn't a winnable war.

Kobi has been indoctrinated by liberal revisionism ! :lamo :2rofll: :monkey

Yes, anyone who has studied the history and drawn their own conclusions is just "indoctrinated."

How about you answer the question with something more substantive than emoticons, since you're so bloody smart.

That site is run by a "Red Diaper Baby" and was one of the top leaders of the extreme radical left during the 60's and 70's.

Who, David Horowitz? He's a lying hack.

There's a reason why Alinsky called himself a Community Organizer, why Barrack Obama said that was his singular qualification as well and why Hillary Clinton did her thesis on the man.

What does that tell you about Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton ?

/sigh

No, he didn't. The guy was also a constitutional lawyer, head of the Harvard Review, a state senator, and a mother****ing U.S. Senator.

Oh, and by the way, Hillary's 1969 thesis on Alinsky paints his tactics as largely ineffective. But your attempt at guilt-by-extremely-loose-association is duly noted.

Ask LBJ. He's the one that first deployed combat troops with no clear objective or goal communicated. And with his limitations placed on our military, no means of obtaining the lessor ones that he did.

It wasn't a winnable war? Who told you that?

Lots of people. What conditions for victory existed that both the NVA and the Viet Cong would be willing to accept?

I can't, he's dead. Since you guys are such historians, you tell me.

He did nothing as a Constitutional Lawyer, nothing as head of Harvard Review (which was the result of Affirmative Action) and only answered "Present" as a senator.

Wrong, wrong and wrong. Keep digging.

I know it's popular among hawks (especially people who were around in the late 60s) to blame the DFHs for leaving Vietnam, but they rarely (if ever) have any sort of answer for the questions I just asked. They don't bother; it's easier to bitch about liberals and declare victory in the thread.

Keep digging? You haven't demonstrated anywhere that I was wrong. Lots of people told you he was qualified to be President?

You haven't demonstrated you were right. You just made a blanket statement and expected it to stand on its own.

RE: The Bold ... Now you're mixing up arguments. Try to keep up. I also don't see what your little Obama ****fit has to do with the topic of the thread, but if there's one truism on this forum, it's that any thread can be twisted into another opportunity to gripe about the guy the Republicans couldn't beat twice.

You haven't pointed out where I was wrong. Until you do I must be correct.

Dig him up. Maybe he learned something by now with his dirt nap time. Maybe this time around he'll be smart enough not to be just another senseless liberal.

Um, that's not exactly how it works.

Fine, John Boehner molests goats. Prove me wrong. If you don't, I must be correct.

I heard that...somewhere.

I don't see why you're attempting to bait me by slamming LBJ. The guy was three years dead before I was born.

I was quite specific. Why not point out anywhere I was incorrect, or where you feel I was incorrect?

Affirmative action, perhaps?
