CGI Federal Inc, the company that created large parts of the error-plagued ObamaCare exchange website, which it says it is scrambling to fix, has recently been awarded several other government contracts.

Since the ObamaCare exchange website launched on Oct. 1, government officials have signed at least five different agreements with CGI totaling $7 million, according to USASpending.gov, a government website that lists government contracts. The contracts were for computer and software development at the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Commerce, and the Environmental Protection Agency.

And this is why we needed a business man in the WH and not a community organizer
we are literally going to pay for decades for the incompetents of this administration

To be fair to CGI it was the Obama Administration that chose who was to head up the whole thing, and Obama picked White House insiders with no experience in software development. CGI wasn't in a position to be critical of the choice and wasn't about to raise a stink over the poor guidance they were getting.

only an incompetent clown would still be offering contracts to this company after the web site train wreck unless it is a pay off for keeping their mouth shut about him being an incompetent clown and blowing the whistle on him with proof they told him it wasn't ready

I'm pretty sure that the Administration knows who is at fault by now, and it's not CGI. CGI knew to keep quiet, and, yes, they are now being rewarded for that I'll bet.

The adminstration finally has brought in people from the IT industry who know what they are doing to bring all the pieces together so no doubt they'll have it working before too long. Once the web site is no longer the issue the real problems in the ACA will shine forth, like, for example, it's not affordable at all.

What exactly do you see as the problem here, do you know anything about software development?

would you if you were a business man give another contract to a company that produced the train wreck of a web site? who am I kidding you liberals know nothing about how to run a successful business

What depends upon the situation, doubt the website is what you say a train wreck. Building software is not like building structures.

What a stupid thing to say. Tell that to Howard Schultz, I'm in one of his establishment right now.

Yes, because the last couple of business men really did such a bang up job with efficient government contracting :lamo

Mine is doing fine, thank you. How's yours?

Or government contract bidding for that matter.

Liberals tend to make a lot of generalized statements. More proof that you are indeed a liberal. :)

I always never think this same thing about everything always.

But but you had a business man in the last guy in the WH, and he continued to use companies that had committed massive fraud that cost billions.. gave them no bid contracts and all.. and his VP profited from it.. So having a business man seems to make the situation even worse!

I dunno, GWB was a businessman and they flushed how many billions down the crapper in Iraq? And I'm not just talking about the dollars we can account for.

Being a "businessman" is no guarantee of success. Bernie Madoff was a businessman.

Also, Obama was a state senator and a member of the United States Senate, as well as a constitutional lawyer. "Community Organizer" is a talking point. Not that YOU'D care.

Everybody generalizes.

What are you trying to say, that there is no problem? Is Obama lying when he said there is?

Oh for crying out loud, here we go again.

I think pretty much anyone here can admit that the software rollout was a total cockup. The question is why.

On one hand, you have some folks claming it's a deliberate scheme to ... accomplish WHAT? What does Obama gain out of the the website being effed eight ways from Sunday?

On the other hand, you have those who live in reality who see it for what it is ... a massive, unprecedented undertaking that was poorly planned.

Is it bad? Yes. Is it irretrievably bad? No. Will it eventually Work As Intended? Yes. Is it inexcusable that it doesn't already? Yes.

I was addressing pbrauer, and if you know anything the question was legit.

I think it was a stretch. PBrauer didn't seem that he was claiming there was no problem.

Of course there is a problem, I merely trying to say software development is quite a bit different than other projects and I would not be in hurry change providers.

Maybe so, but they didn't do a very good source selection by picking a company with the track record like that. Past Performance is important in the selection process.

You don't have to be a baseball player to know when a guy can't hit the ball.

Not any more, apparently. Accountability, expertise and professional standards in the government are not as important as they once were..

That's not true.
