Tweeting caught up with a White House national security official found to have been posting insults and secret information about the Obama administration and other political figures for more than two years, according to published reports.

Jofi Joseph, 40, has been tweeting under the handle @natsecwonk since February 2011 until last week, when the handle was shut down after a search by White House and State Department officials for months. The former member of the National Security Council non-proliferation team was fired a week ago after insulting everyone via Twitter from White House advisors to political figures, according to the Daily Beast and Politico.

The search intensified after @NatSecWonk repeatedly expressed doubts about administration accounts concerning a Sept. 11, 2012, attack in Benghazi, Libya.
Joseph emailed Politico."It has been a privilege to serve in this administration and I deeply regret violating the trust and confidence placed in me," Jofi said in the email. "What started out as an intended parody account of DC culture developed over time into a series of inappropriate and mean-spirited comments. I bear complete responsibility for this affair and I sincerely apologize to everyone I insulted."
Joseph also has worked at the State Department and for Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., and then-Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del. He was part of the White House team working on negotiations with Iran, the Daily Beast reports.
Eric Schultz, an Obama spokesman, confirmed Joseph was gone from the White House and no longer had top security clearances, Politico reported.
While tweeting as @natsecwonk, Joseph criticized White House policy as well as the intellect and appearance of his bosses. He even insulted officials by name, including Secretary of State John Kerry and former National Security Advisor Tom Donilon, The Daily Beast reports.
"I'm a fan of Obama, but his continuing reliance and dependence upon a vacuous cipher like (White House senior advisor) Valerie Jarrett concerns me," he tweeted.
His insults crossed all party lines too, according to the news organization.
"So when will someone do us the favor of getting rid of (Republican and former vice presidential contender) Sarah Palin and the rest of her white trash family? What utter useless garbage?" he tweeted last year.
Many in the foreign policy community expressed shock Tuesday night after learning Joseph was @natsecwonk., the Daily Beast reports.

Forgive me for not wanting to miss an opportunity, but consider the apparent wisdom displayed by Mr. Joseph, along side the job the White House considered him fit to perform.

And remind me again who's minding the global "store"?

It took two years to catch a dude posting on twitter?

It defies description! At least we know he was bipartisan in his insults! He obviously considered himself superior to the people he reported to, since he talked negatively about their intellect and appearance, which proves he has the ego required to work there. While loyalty is preferred, where do you draw the line on First Amendment rights? Stupid man!

Greetings, Maggie. :2wave:

So we are to understand that Obama didn't know that the ACA was a mess, but they did finally corner a renegade tweeter? Great. My confidence is completely restored.

sounds like stuff for dicktator I$$A

That should be no surprise. They turned over a million classified documents to a private to keep secret, Private Manning.

High rankers are too busy playing golf to worry about things like national security. That's the job of go-fers.

You're too trusting! You could have demanded a bit more proof, you know! Just sayin... :lamo:

It was because of a programming error on healthcare.gov that accidentally linked to twitter.com and grabbed his tweet and mixed it with someone's medical records in Connecticut whose doctor misinterpreted the data and scheduled them for immediate surgery, but when asked by the hospital why they were dissing Obama they refused them service, whereupon the patient wrote their congressman, using words they shouldn't, which triggered the NSA computers, which shot a memo to the IRS, which sent an agent to their address, which had been transcribed incorrectly sending them to Obama's favorite pro shop where Obama just happened to be shopping for more golf balls. Seeing the commotion, Obama ordered one of his secret service agents to arrest the IRS agent who told his boss, who told his boss, who emailed his wife, who tweeted her lover, whereupon her lover's husband started a thread in his favorite political debate forum, dissing gays in general, which cranked up the NSA computers once again, this time intercepted by another programming "glitch" on healthcare.gov which routed the thread via AlJazeera's portal to the kitchen server in the White House; the post having been re-transcribed into Farsi, albeit in a dialect causing the head chef to interpret it as a meal request for Ms. Sebelius, who can't stand tabouleh. Meanwhile, Obama shot a 64 on the back nine, which he recorded in his smart phone and emailed to Michelle, whose computer was also infected by the healthcare.gov virus, and was inadvertently given the records of a 64 year old woman from Toledo, who happened to be the aunt of the white house aid, who told her nephew of the strange call she'd received from the first lady. Splurting his tabouleh over keyboard, an aid thought he was choking and started administering the Heimlich maneuver, which earned him a jab in the face, which initiated an investigation....

Competence sometimes takes a circuitous route to complete.

Haha! That's excellent! :lamo

Obama fires a guy for telling the truth but doesn't fire for pleading the fifth or lying to a congressional committee. What's wrong with that picture? LOL. Fine mess we are in.

Ignorant racist baggers at it again. They won't be happy until they bring your country down and it's all because they can't stomach a black president.

So, the NSA has been checking out virtually every electronic communication, both inside the US and outside, and this joker gets to tweet for 2 and a half years before he gets caught and fired?

We should thank God that terrorists are even dumber than Obama administration flunkies.

At your employer's doorstep.

Common sense just isn't that common.

And it's not just the blurring between personal and professional. How often these days do folks share "private" pics only to have them become "revenge porn"? How often do people, including kids, perform in front of their web cams? Why don't they understand that this presupposes an AUDIENCE?!

That made me laugh so that that I spit out my tabbouleh, which I like.

There's a major difference between what President Lincoln called "the common man" and common sense. In fact, most times, they are mutually exclusive.

Civil liberties don't stop at government or federal appointed positions.

This is a nation by the people and for the people - not by the government and for the government...

Well, I'm not sure I understand your post. But civil liberties also don't stop at firing/hiring at will sans contract.

I don't have a lot of confidence in the Obama administration but surely someone clued them into the fact that anyone working in/for the White House would have signed a code of conduct which in all likelihood did indeed park the employee's civil liberties at the door.

Yeah they do...

An opinion is just an opinion.... If criticism changed anythings alone this US would be a different place...

IMO, I wouldn't do a job/take a job if it conflicted with my moral or ethical views, however my point still stands.

That's fine. But I don't understand your point.

Is it that one should be able to say anything they wish about White House administration while they're working there? If that's your point? You're obviously quite wrong.

A US citizen cannot "waive" their civil liberties without a judge present.
