Look at the size of our population, and the cries of oppression and racism we hear about everyday. We shouldn't have any slaves, but 60,000 scattered among 310 million people is hardly proportional to the what I see in the news. We're having marches on Washington because people feel oppressed.
Being oppressed can be a serious problem, but it is not the same as slavery.
See post #13 for examples of slavery in agriculture. Another area where slavery happens in the USA is domestic workers-maids and nannies, usually illegal immigrants. There are also some sex slaves working in brothels and "massage" parlors, but not as many as law enforcement, activists and the media usually claim.
