Republicans Lose Ground vs. Obama in the Shutdown Blame Game

To bad the Dems running congress back then didn't do like the GOP is now, uh?

Go ahead and show us when the Dems made a stand during Bushes presidency against wasteful government over spending. Oh, that's right. You can't ...imagine that.

BTW....where were all those teabagger types and people like you whining and crying about out of control spending when Bush was in office. Oh....that's right....he had an (R) behind his name....that explains it all.

You are correct. The Dems did not resort to the same type of extortionist tactics that your teabaggers do. Oh...and wait....their teabaggery has nothing to do about the budget....why again won't Boehner put the budget to an up/down vote and continues to hold the American people hostage?

It took me a second but now I understand what you are really getting at. The spin, the twist, the lies...sometimes it takes a second to sort them out. The House, the Senate and the President all met their constitutional responsibilities back then. To bad the Senate and the President refuse to meet their constitutional responsibilities now.

What statements that I can't back up? You made excuses for Bush's debt and even supported it in your posts. You have lied by accusing me of being a liberal which I am not.

So please tell me which statements I haven't backed up Con.

No I didn't Bush is responsible for 4.9 trillion added to the debt, I pointed out hat 1 trillion was due to 9/11 and that was done in 8 years. Obama has added 6.4 trillion in 5.

So now it is no longer about Obamacare anymore.
It is about Paul Ryan's wish list to cut, which was defeated eleven months ago.
Paul Ryan, sucking the government teat his whole life.

My Avatar is right on, that is what the military thinks of Bush and has nothing to do with economics all about respect the military has for Bush. Let me know when you find the quote that Bush is an economic genius.

LOL...as suspected.

Aren't photo ops great?

So Bush gets a "free ride" for 911? Wow....more spin and attempts to justify.....What about all the debt from Iraq that Bush just put on a credit card?

I've been here all along, complaining.

still wondering what happened to all the code pink types that abandoned the cause though.

They would...its simple. Boehner needs to put the bill to and up/down vote and quit playing games. Why won't Boehner bring the bill to a vote?

How much interest do we pay each year from the TAD put on by Bush??
That TAD never goes away. The interest payment to support it never goes ahead.

Code pink is just a small radical group...hardly indicative of any meaningful group. Although....you may be the minority ARC.....most of the teabaggers/Republicans didn't say a word during Bush's spending sprees...but now all of a sudden its OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!!!

And you made excuses for it Con, I have the posts. The fact is you are a hypocrite and you know it. Your posts betray you each and every time.

I'm curious as to why people are so short sighted as to thinking the debt is only the presidents responsibility. What about congress?
That's a very good question Lord of Planar. I guess it is easier to blame a president for all using dates of office than to really dig a little further and see what party was in power in Congress at the same time. After all that does play a huge role in what gets funded and by how much.

Take for instance when Bush was in office his second term, there were a lot of compromises in funding Democrat special interests just to get the military funded properly when the people voted in a Democrat Congress the latter part of his second term.
And then there is Clinton's two terms where he had a Democrat Congress at first and freely passed legislation that would turn out to add a huge burden of debt a decade later. But if it were not for the Republicans voted in later on to take control of the purse strings, Clinton never would have had what is called a "balanced budget" during his time as president.
Then I think of Reagan and how he has been bastardized for so many things yet he too was dealt a Democrat majority in Congress. Some of the things he compromised on were a direct result of wanting to pass more important legislation pending at the time. Just recently it was brought to my attention that the S.S. Disability requirements were loosened under his leadership yet it was a Democrat Congress that sought to have them loosened and when you are playing the game, "Let's make a deal" to get other more important pieces of legislation passed that were crucial at that time, you do what you have to do.

So in a round about way, it's the people's fault for voting in what amounts to gridlock and forcing the compromises that leads to more debt. If they see the debt as a real issue, then they need to send representatives to Washington that will tackle the out of control spending.

They were out there. You just were not listening. Plus the debt crisis was no where near as bad then but that's on Obama. Like everything he touches, he made the debt worse. Lots worse.

thank you for proving my point. Anyone can google a photo op....even you....LOL

The bottom line is...your adoration and infatuation with your hero severely clouds your credibility because you cannot fathom admitting that the same created a huge mess and is in large part responsible for a large chunk of the deficit. In your mind, he is simply an economic genius who led the US to economic Utopia.

Again, speculation on your part but an uneducated statement as usual. The debt Bush put on the Credit card is part of the 4.9 trillion dollar debt Bush created. I find it interesting that someone who is in the fiscal disastrous state of California is concerned about the 4.9 trillion Debt Bush added but little about the 6.4 trillion debt Obama debt in 5 years.

No they weren't. They didn't give a **** until Obama took office. GWB doubled the national debt while he was in office...the teabaggery didn't start until after he left. Other than the (R)....there was not much difference.

Just like your obsession and BDS over a President who has been out of office for almost 5 years. Guess that is a great way to divert from the Obama failures.

By the way that picture at DFW was in 2010

A new meme for Republican legislative add-ons is to bring up entitlement reforms on top of everything else.
Thi Ryan budget defeated in the last election-decided on this past May-the Repubs new RED line.
This Economic Showdown was planned the night of the election-like the the 2011 one was planned in Nov. 2008.

I'm concerned about it all. Unlike you...I'm concerned about the debt created under GWB and I'm concerned about the debt created under Obama. You on the other hand are only concerned about the debt under Obama...as if he is responsible for the entire 17 trillion himself...as for Bush, you done nothing but engage in calisthenics to rationalize and justify his responsibility.

Liberal math??

Bush 4.9 trillion in 8 years=600 billion per year
Obama 6.4 trillion in 5 years= 1.3 trillion a year

Obama doubles the Bush yearly debt but that isn't a problem?

Bush left a mess with a Democrat Congress that allowed him to do it? Didn't you say that Congress and the President were responsible for the economic numbers? Guess you left that part out when Bush had a Democrat controlled Congress in 2007-2008

There isn't a lot we can do about the debt created during the Bush term. We have three years more under Obama and increasing the debt ceiling doesn't put the focus on where it belongs, cutting spending and the deficit.

Haw. You are really grasping for a spin straw now.

LOL...Thank YOU once again for proving me correct, Conservative. You cannot fight the urge to try to cavort, conjole, twist, spin, rationalize, justify...practically do everything that you can possibly do to try to rehabilitate and justify your hero's failed legacy. I understand, Conservative....you can't help it.

radical is just buzz words to poison the well so to speak. There was nothing radical about their opposition to our foreign policy.

The tea party movement were born out of Bush's reckless spending and foreign policy. Like any political movement that gains in numbers, it becomes co-opted by others over time.
