I anticipate that nothing will come of this, or a LOT of CDLs are going to get revoked.

That depends on whether you have principles or not. If you do, then approaching governance like sports requires hypocrisy.

They're threatening to park on the Beltway. If they park on the Beltway, I assure you that they'll get arrested and their trucks will be impounded. DC & Fairfax County cops won't try to sweet talk them into moving. They'll throw them in the pokey and call some tow trucks.

You obviously don't understand the law, nor the logistics involved in arresting those drivers and impounding their trucks, not to mention the problems it would cause for the consumers who are expecting that freight to be delivered, on time and in one piece. OR, the liability the authorities would shoulder, by impounding all that freight.

Here in America, one can't be arrested for illegal parking.

Show me the law that would allow the government to revoke anyone's CDL over this.

Fortunately, we don't forfeit our Constitutional rights, just because we do something that some folks don't like.

DC's technically Southern. The Mason-Dixon line runs north of DC, above Maryland. That was a compromise to the Southern States, to locate the Capitol in the South. Maryland is often thought to be a Northern state because they fought with the Union in the civil war, but they were a Southern state who sided with the USA over the CSA, like West Virginia (which broke off from Virginia because that part of the state sided with the USA).

It doesn't fit in the modern South culturally, but it's still in the South, as the South is generally defined (by the Mason-Dixon Line).

Maryland was a neutral state. Her citizens served in the Federal and Confederate armies.

Arrest congress critters? no. Right to peacefully protest? Sure. I'm sure it won't last for weeks and months and involved rapes and assaults, as did the occutard events.

Did you oppose how the occutards protested? If so, post a link where you criticized them and claimed they had no right to do so.

If just 300 trucks parked on the beltway and the police impounded every single one it would take them a minimum of 2 days to move them all. That is if they could get the wreckers necessary to move them. Mind you that's if the truckers involved were not any way creative. Lord help the police if the truckers get creative. I could think of lots of things completely legal that would muck up the works substantially more. :mrgreen: Fun times. I think I am going to give my fellow travelers some creative advise. If I get lucky they will pull this off and get to use one of them. Time to go stir the pot. Boil boil toil and trouble and all the rest.:lamo

Cars should NOT try to run over trucks. It doesn't turn out well for the cars. I'd advise that for cars and trucks attempting to take on trains. Of course its a free country and if you want to commit suicide well have at it.

They cannot be arrested or hindered on their way to a vote and while they are in session. I also believe that even if a Congressman is arrested or put in Jail they have the right to attend legislative sessions which is why there is an emphasis on expelling legislators who are soon to be convicted of crimes.
