Obama Address the Nation on the government shutdown.

LOL.....good luck with that Con.....with the overwhelming majority of the public disagreeing with the games the GOP and the teabaggers are playing....good luck convincing them that the GOP is the party to trust to get things accomplished....especially when they spend their time reading "Green eggs and Ham". Do you honestly think that these are the "results" that the American people want? ROTFLMFAO.........

God this is funny. Guess what, an overwhelming majority of the public are disagreeing with the games ALL OF THEM are playing

Obama, Democrats in Congress, and Republicans in congress ALL have a majority of the public against how they're acting. ALL OF THEM. This is like talking about spousal abusers and suggesting that a majority of people being most upset with Chris Brown magically means that most people are also not exactly fans of Ike Turner or Bobby Brown.

Every. Single. One of them has a majority of Americans upset with how they're acting. ALL of them. Do Republicans have the largest anger towards them? Absolutely. But a majority of the public is disagreeing with the games ALL of them are playing.

The fact you add in an attack over the fact he ****ing read his kids a goddamn bed time story to help fill time is just icing on the cake.

There's nothing to negotiate. The teabaggers have tried every angle to stop implementation of the ACA and have failed. Now they want to hold the American public hostage? I don't think so. Negotiating with extortionists is never a good idea. Now if they want to go through the normal, professional democratic legislative process, that is a different story.

How are they holding the American people hostage? The government shut down, no big deal. Maybe it'll last a few weeks or a month, I'm sure I won't notice a thing. Sorry, but the sky isn't falling. Hey, the democrats rammed this thing through using every trick they have, but the republicans have to go by some constrained path that you select? Sorry, nope. Doesn't work that way. Everything is on the table, the stakes are high, the country is at risk and Obama must be stopped.

I'm glad that Obama is holding firm and the Repubs caused the Government to shut down. This ploy is just going to further cement the fact that the teabaggers have pushed the GOP to the extreme fringe....driving more moderates/independents and reasonable Republicans from the party. I hope and pray that the Tea Party is successful in purging the GOP of everyone except for the extreme fringe of the party. Good Job Teabaggers.....keep it up. I'll be here cheering you on the entire way!

Poll: 72% Oppose Government Shutdown Linked to Health Care

The ACA is the law of the land, there is nothing saying that it cannot be defunded, that is civics 101. Obviously you missed that. Further Obama negotiated exemptions for supporters, unions, and big backers. didn't see that in the original bill. Now the House wants all Americans treated the same way and you have a problem with that? How liberal of you?

Sure, it can be defunded, put it up for a vote. That's not what they're doing. They're threatening to keep the government shut down, harming the lives of millions of people, because they CAN'T get it defunded without a filthy trick that is as anti-American as minced meat pie. And the House wants "all Americans treated the same way?" Are you kidding me? These are the people who are best friends with lobbyists and pass legislation that caters to multimillion dollar corporations while simultaneously hurting the poor. Please, these politicians are bought and paid for, and that's what this is all about. The ACA hurts the big guns in the health care industry and they have to appease their donators. Any support from people like you probably has them laughing "he's fighting against his own best interests! Hilarious!"

Are you kidding me? you think that Obamacare with all its exemptions negotiated with the Obama Administration was part of the ACA act passed solely by Democrats? Got it, Obama can negotiate with backers and supporters but not with the People's House and Republican majority. Sorry ,not kidding you at all, Obama shutdown the govt. and the Republicans did what they were charged with doing when winning the 2010 and 2012 House control.

You need to stop reading the left propaganda and think for a change. Please don't talk to me about lobbyists as this Administration has done nothing to curb lobbyists. It is amazing how people buy the Obama rhetoric and ignore the Obama results. Maybe rather than worry about those evil corporations that create jobs you ought to worry about the union bosses and their six figure salaries that do nothing but cost jobs.

Who are the teabaggers? Are they some democrat group? Now, the Tea Party, there are some patriots. Oh, wait, it's a little childish thing you are doing. Why, that is so clever!

LOL.....Patriots?.....Hey.....I know, lets both encourage the teabaggers to keep pushing the GOP to the extreme right-wing....alienating the independents, moderates and the reasonable Republicans. Maybe the Teabaggers can succeed in purging the party of all except for the extremist of the extremes. We both would like that......right?

It will be interesting to see the effects of Obama and the Democrats shutting down the entire government in a tantrum over not getting one thing they want.

I haven't listened to a word Obama has said or a word the "liberal media" has said. My information has come from my local newspaper, Republican talk radio, and, more than anything, CSPAN. When the House members were trying to get a bill passed on Saturday, the Republicans were in a secret conference all morning and afternoon, refusing to speak to the press, the Democrats, or even relay information to congress about what was going on. The idea that Obama has caused this shutdown is ABSURD. What if Democrats had refused to fund the government unless Bush retracted his tax cuts? Would you then have said that Bush shut down the government because the Democrats were doing what they were elected to do? Would you have said Bush shut down the government if we had a shutdown because the Democrats refused to fund the war effort in Iraq or Afghanistan? Please. You're the one drinking the Kool Aid. I'm watching C-SPAN, man. C-SPAN

You either don't know how the American government works or you don't care. Because this is not how the system works. The Republicans did everything they could to stop the ACA and they couldn't do it. Hurting Americans doesn't help them. I think that's a truism. Try winning the next election, not hurting the country.

The President shutdown the govt. because of his desire not to negotiate on any part of the bill. He gives exemptions to his friends and campaign contributors but then won't negotiate exemptions for the average American and even the bill that the Democrats created that exempts Congress.

Are you serious? No, you can't be. Nobody can truly believe this.

Umm, it's the other way around. I thought I should help clarify that.

I think what we are seeing here is Obama setting a tone, clearly sending a message, drawing a line in the sand, if you will. Half baked laws that this administration passes will stand, so get used to it.

LOL....that was a lame attempt at spin.....you gotta do better than that....

Conservative lives in backwards world....remember....he's the guy who thinks that 911 occurred on Clintons watch and GWB captured and killed Bin Laden....so don't be too surprised.

The AHC Act is a fully baked law with even Supreme Court approval. And the tone is that we will not make up laws as we go along, its treason.

Hahah, I literally spilled my coffee while reading this.

Ok its a "fully baked" law, just like a fully baked meal. Pardon the analogy, but the cook just gave me this fully baked meal and there is a cockroach on this meal and the plate is dirty. Just like this meal, this law has bugs and dirt, so should it be delivered as is or delayed and tweaked before it is implemented?

Aw, yes, been smoking some of that legal "weed" in California? You make wild ass claims seeking attention and then run when proven wrong. Sad state of affairs when someone from Disneyland never grows up and always lives in make believe land. I know that I would love to see the statement where I believe 9/11 occurred in Clinton's watch and that Bush got Bin Laden. You just throw out statements for effect and other Obamabots pile on.

It is great however seeing you on TV

You know it's funny, but it is the democrats that are teabagging the country, ironic, isn't it? It is really telling that the left in this country now defines following the Constitution as being "extreme right-wing". Quite sad, actually. Just follow the Constitution, can you do that, democrats? Or is it too hard for you? Today's democrats concentrate on finding ways around the Constitution, and they are killing this country.

Well just to poke the bear, the ACA was ruled Consitutional so that kinda blows your argument out of the water.

It's funny that this guy gets stepped on by the rest of the world, but when it comes to the American people, he is going to stand his ground and not give in.

We have this government program that tens of millions of Americans don't want, could not get one republican vote, and couldn't even come close to being passed into law today. Yet, he immediately comes out and says he refuses to negotiate anything on it. Truly a man of the people! What people, I have no idea.

No, it really doesn't. I can name a couple of other things that were declared Constitutional too, and they really were not.

Right now it is deemed Consitutional. THAT is REALITY.
