Ted Cruz launches faux filibuster as Senate readies spending bill vote

add another republican senator to the list of people who don't think Cruz knows what he is doing.

It shows how out of touch and how wacko the Republican party has gotten.....if the GOP is going to survive, it better purge itself of these buffoons...this is why so many of the more reasonable Republicans are beginning to speak out.

i can show who the country chose to lead us in 2012.

Final Result: Obama 332, Romney 206 | VOTAMATIC

Great, Obama won, so why is he still campaigning? How about pointing me to the sites that show his accomplishments and why you still support him? Didn't ask you why you voted for him, his campaign website is full of fiction, I asked you to point me to his accomplishments that warrant your support

They are being upstaged, I'm not surprised it bothers them.

Cruz and Paul knew exactly what they were doing when they took the floor.

People are losing interest because they feel like it doesn't matter what they think. Career politicians will just trudge along fighting to appease special interest groups. When someone comes along and is willing to stand up and argue, to draw attention to these issues and getting the average American to talk about them it upsets the status quo and they don't like it.

Cruz destroyed Feinstein in the gun control debate and made her look like a fool. Say what you want about him but he clearly knows what he is doing.

I am still waiting for the sites that you find credible that show his economic and foreign policy performance.

Con....like I said.....you aren't worth the time and energy. You are full of nothing other than right-wing radio talking points. Sorry....but I won't waste my time on you.

Surely you jest. Cruz is a buffoon and exposes it everytime he opens his mouth. Really.....Ashton Kutcher and Green eggs and ham? Texas deserves an idiot like him. He isn't the first fool to come out of Texas.

Then don't do it for me, do it to show the rest of the people who read your garbage that you know what you are talking about and are voting based upon substance and not rhetoric

The simple fact that a hardcore liberal such as your self dislikes him only stands to prove he is doing it right.

You are a real comic, thanks so much for the comic relief. There are so many loons in California that I am buying new beachfront property in Phoenix as California tips into the ocean with all those loons sunbathing at the ocean collecting taxpayer funded unemployment checks. I cannot believe how ignorant and arrogant many people of California are. You hold up that reputation quite well.

Au contrar....I LOVE the guy. He and Sarah Palin and their ilk are ushering in the death of the Republican party....I'm loving every minute of it. The GOP will be little more than a regional party by the time the teabaggers are done. I pray that he is their nominee.....Cruz/Palin 2016.....I'd even campaign in the primaries for them.

Have to destroy the guy, don't you? Anyone that goes against our incompetent President has to be destroyed. How about pointing me to the sites that show the results that justify your loyalty to Obama?

i forgot to mention this when i replayed to your message earlier, but how is bob corker destroying ted cruz? I don't seem to recall bob corker voicing his support for obama care, he was just criticizing ted cruz and mike lee for dragging out the process of the senate debate just because they want more people to be watching on saturday. Corker was accusing them of caring more about how the senate debate is portrayed rather then sending it back to the house at a earlier time.

Baloney. I see liberals on a daily basis that will break down into spasms at the mere mention of Sarah Palins name. You guys would prefer we run guys like McCain and Graham, the kind of guys that are the first to cross the isle and "compromise" the first to turn like sharks on their own party. You can build these guys up as the "logical" and "moderate" choice and then destroy them in the presidential elections when its proven that when given the choice between a Democrat and a wannabe Democrat people will choose the Democrat.

You couldn't be more wrong. I would MUCH prefer the GOP to run people like Cruz or Palin. Why would I want the GOP to run a candidate who might actually win? Romney was by far the stronger challenge to Obama...I would have much preferred someone like Santorum or Gingrich who Obama would have squashed like a bug.

we can't have two blindly partisan political parties, or else nothing would get done.

too true
even as an old fart, i expect to hear my grand child one day ask, "grand dad, what's a republican?"

Gotta love how the libs are carrying on about Cruz.

Cruz stands with the majority of the American people on an issue, and the libs pretend that he's nuts. LOL. Like I said before, Obamacare is an issue that keeps on giving to the GOP. The more the libs attack Cruz and his stance against Obamacare, the more votes that head for the GOP. Just like the 2010 mid-terms.

what is wrong with publicly financing elections? won't that make politicians more inclined to listen to the people?

You want the incumbents in charge of creating the laws that will finance their own elections?

How electable do you believe when the true pain of increased medical costs and decreased medical service hit mainstream America. People vote with their wallets. The extended recession, Obamacare, a true unemployment rate which is double digets make a difficult set of circumstances for democrats to overcome. I wouldn't celebrate your election yet.

what i find ironic is that there exists a possibility that if there is a government shutdown, and obamacare encounters problems, people might blame the problem's or glitch in obamacare on the government shutdown rather then on obamacare, and Republicans might end up getting blamed for sabotaging obamacare by shutting down the government.

Hilary is going to have no problem in the next election. The GOP doesn't have a candidate that can stop her. Republican scare tactics about Obamacare are going to be proven to be just that...more Americans are going to have coverage and American families understand who has their back and who has only the back of the top 1%. Americans also understand where we have come from and where we were when Obama took office. All of this spells big problems for the GOP....especially when the American people see through the grandstanding and game playing...they understand that America doesn't need a party that wastes their time reading "My pet goat" or "Green eggs and ham".

You are so funny. disneydude fits you perfectly. A real cartoon from the State of California that puts warning labels on their medical marijuana that it may cause cancer. Now that's pretty funny too!

Today in the New York Post the only one who seems to be doing any bug crushing is Senator Cruz.

In the last hour, even as he said he grew “weary” as his time arguing against ObamaCare was coming to a close, he found himself in a debate with the able and smart Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin on the Congress’s generous health-care plan.

Durbin complained that Cruz wanted to deny health care to the uninsured; did he not, Durbin asked, enjoy the benefits of the generous congressional health-care package himself?

Cruz said he wouldn’t answer Durbin until Durbin first replied to three questions Cruz had posed. Durbin, with an “a-ha” gesture, responded by saying it was clear Cruz was simply refusing to answer his embarrassing question.

He’d walked into Cruz’s trap. For then Cruz said, no, Senator, I’m eligible for the congressional plan — but I’m not enrolled in it.

Durbin thought he had Cruz cornered by bringing up his reliance on the absurdly generous health package for Congress. But since Cruz doesn’t rely on it, Durbin humiliated himself in what was supposed to be his gotcha moment.

Despite his marathon of speaking and standing and arguing, after nearly a day on his feet, Cruz — there is no other term for it — squashed Durbin like a bug.All in all, the Cruz performance was great political theater, and Cruz was astoundingly impressive both in demeanor and in the cogency and saliency of his arguments against ObamaCare. If there’d been any question before Tuesday about what a formidable presence he’s going to be in Washington and in the Republican party going forward, it has been laid to rest.
Who else does Ted Cruz

Cheers!
