Raising taxes does create jobs - for tax accountants looking to find loopholes for tax weary people and for IRS clerks checking and rechecking all those creative tax returns. Simplify and reduce all tax rates, eliminate loopholes and deductions, and you get rid of all those leeches employed preparing and reviewing tax returns.

What does passing a budget have to do with Ted Cruz? Did he violate the rules of the Senate against Cruz?

I guess Cruz is as bad at literary interpretation as he is at health care policy.

He should have read "American Psycho" out loud; it better fits his party.
 
Have to give props to McCain for giving Cruz flak over his bull**** Nazi Germany comparison. Yeah, that kindof is offensive to all the people who died putting an end to that barbarity.

Also props to McCain for recognizing that the GOP was trying to usurp legislative power that the people did not grant them. Elections have consequences. Yes, the people actually did want to keep Obamacare. They proved that be re-electing the man.

My stance on the Obamacare issue aside, this type of thing only serves to bog down an already highly viscous government. All to prove a point that at the end of the day may only swing a negligible amount of people. For me, the filibuster, at least most of the time, is akin to a government shutdown. At least at the legislative level.
 
I have not had medical insurance since the early 90's
I will not join an exchange
I will not pay the 'fine' or the Tax or what ever they are calling it
I will not participate in this travesty

You will however be rushed to the emergency room if you get very sick or injured and the rest of us will have to pay for you.

McCain is odd. One day he'll take a totally principled stance and you have to completely admire the man. The next day he's mired in the worst kind of partisanship. But that's better than most, I guess.

The way he disregards the law and the Constitution we can't completely rule that out.

I hope (and even suspect) that by the time that loser leaves office plenty of voters will be sick of the Democrat party and their failed ideas.

You're in luck. Because of incessant whining from Republicans who insisted that Americans be able to ignore the law whenever they choose, there's essentially no enforcement mechanism for the insurance mandate. The no-insurance tax penalty is assessed by the IRS, but they aren't allowed to impose criminal penalties for the tax evasion you've publicly admitted that you intend to commit. (ACA section 1501(g)(2)(A) )

I wish you success in your continued effort to dump your medical costs onto the rest of us.

Please keep posting and as a matter of fact your posts should be required reading for all people just to see what little knowledge liberals have. What you continue to show is how little you know about what is going on in this country and exactly what you pay for. Healthcare costs are incentives for the states ,not the federal govt. because healthcare costs for the uninsured are paid for by the insured of the state or the state taxpayers in general. Please keep posting as we will owe the 2014 election successes to you

Don't recall but do you live in TX? If not then your insurance costs are handled within your state not the federal level

The IRS is in charge of the insurance mandate. They assess it on your tax return.
