Turkey vows 'necessary' action after Syria admits shooting down military plane

Ok we've broken the ice..who do you think is using chemical weapons against the Syrian people??

Because there are credible sources accusing both sides, we don't know now do we. But what do I "think" ? I have maintained from the beginning that it makes no sense for president Assad to have gassed his own civilians, because, they largely support him, so such a move would be counter productive, furthermore, it would deny Russian and Chinese legitimacy for supporting him, so I can't imagine that both countries haven't repeatedly and firmly counselled him NOT to use them. This would also explain one reason why Putin would be so eager to help get them out of the country. And finally, after the "red line" warning, president Assad knows that such an act would bring on a US attack which would finish him!

So why...since the intervention of Putin..have the gassings stopped, or in fact any aggressions by the ''rebels''?

If that's true, perhaps its because so many outside forces are pushing for a cease fire. There's another thread up about that very point.

In Syria, Lebanon, Bahrain and Iraq, Sunni and Shia Muslims are struggling for power while religious intolerance rises violently in Egypt. Meanwhile, the Sunni Gulf States are fighting proxy battles with Shia Iran for supremacy in the region, with Syria as ground zero.

“Violence and brutality have been targeted at particular sects...

I'm not exactly sure what your point is with that. But I don't disagree with what's stated.

I think Turkiye is being punished for allying with NATO in the ordeal. They killed a jet cause now Assad has Russia.

Turkey has been allied with NATO for the entirety of its existence so i doubt very much that is the case.

Never mind Monte, Wolfie, he has been assigning with Assad and Putin from the beginning of the conflict. He managed to gather all data favoring their side from the beginning. I even called him a "traitor" at one point.

But what you stated is more interesting by comparison. Since the Middle East, is stuck in the Middle (E)ages (i.e., the ME is stuck in "ME") this war is about religious dominance for them. They are so locked in this state that poor Egypt, realized too late that it was not never about religion to begin with :lamo

Basically while they fight Shia or Sunni dominance, you went in and said "How about neither of you instead!"

So how does Dardania know anything about an American being a traitor? Do you know the American definition of a traitor? Or are you just trolling? (I learned as long as its trolling and not troll, it doesn't violate forum rules, I know :)) anyway in pre 1980's America it was ok to criticise US policy without being called a traitor. You should look up the definition.

Ever heard of the "Location" area in user control panel?

Why you don't get banned is beside me!

Turkey vows 'necessary' action after Syria admits shooting down military plane | Fox News

The issue goes to NATO:

Turkey goes to Nato over plane it says Syria downed in international airspace | World news | theguardian.com

Turkey hardens military position after Syria downs jet - CNN.com

Then a plane is intercepted and blocked because it was carrying ammunition. Turikye's intelligence got the "tip" that it was going to have ammunition by someone. Wonder who was it after the NATO meeting? Anyone?

Turkey: Syrian plane was carrying ammunition

BBC is more neutral:

BBC News - Turkey's munitions claim on Syria plane 'lies' - Damascus

RT says yes there were weapons, what of it? It is legal, we are sending radar to Syria that we defend legally (for it to continue killing civilians - DDD):

No weapons on Syrian plane grounded by Turkey ? Lavrov ? RT News

China says "Nah it was ammunition"

Syrian plane carrying munitions: Turkey - China.org.cn

So how about it? Ammo or not, Turkiye is engaging while USA is negotiating with Assad about chems.

Is it a build up for an upcoming event? Or something that needs to be silenced so as to evade an upcoming event?

Sorry, DDD. I think Turkey should have slapped Assad a long time ago. What do you think?

Ever heard of the "Location" area in user control panel?

Ever heard of leave me alone, and quite calling me names that most people get banned for?

No problem about that. I am not fund of your positions but has nothing to do with you.

I just hate people posing as Americans and poisoning the media from the "inside." You still do not have a "Location" area. There were other attempts to do that from people that made all to obvious mistakes in typing.

By the way, should not that be "quit calling me names?" rather than "quite calling me names?"

Lastly, it is you in my thread. I am not following you anywhere. You came here to me instead.

Sorry, DDD. I think Turkey should have slapped Assad a long time ago. What do you think?

So what are you sorry for?

I think Syria should have been done long time ago also. But not with Turkiye alone, it should have been a joint venture, the usual way, before we lost momentum, and before Syria offered Putin concessions for Russia's support.

But perhaps warships in the area imposed a delay from start.

I guess I mistook your position. I'll tell you one thing. If someone shot down one of our jets, there would be hell to pay. hell to pay - Idioms - by the Free Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

That though might be hellish instead. I think Turkiye is in that position.

I don't think so DDD, as turkey (mmmm) I mean Turkey is backed by NATO. Russia talks a big game, but they are not willing to end civilization (which is what a confrontation with the US would mean). Also, Turkey has a legitimate reason to respond. They have had a jet shot down and have been shelled by Syria. Dismissing this behavior only encourages it.

Let us see what other developments occur in this direction then. Turkiye blows a chopper, they blow a jet, Turkiye intercepts airplane with radar, they criticize.

But I tent to think that NATO does backs up Turkiye, but it may also asking Turkiye to calm down also. I think NATO is playing cautious too now after Russia is in the game.

This could have been responded so well before the big guys with big guns were involved. Now it is a complete mess. At least for the moment...

Turkey being cautious has less to do with Russian bluster and more to do with weak ass Obama not backing them up. They can't trust Obama...

Your saying that if Russia attacked the US, that the US would kill all civilisation? Oh, yeah, your probably right, never mind.

Just had to get that in there huh? What I meant, as you well know, is attacks can't go unanswered. There would be a response etc and things could lead down a bad road. Which is precisely why we haven't gone to war with Russia throughout the cold war.

Yeah, I know dude.

Do not think so. He may be appearing weak but he is not a dictator. He has input from various intel organizations both inner and from allies.

Obama may appear weak to you from inside, but he has a role to play to us in the outside. A role is played by whichever guy you selected.
