Pope Francis: Church can't 'interfere' with gays

Isn't the Pope the King of Catholics on Earth?

Look I don't disparage religions very much even though I'm about as none religion as they come, but something about having a Pope always bothered me, and lead me to question the very idea of religion in general. In some ways the concept of a Pope was what caused me to reject religion. That and a myriad of other things, but that was one of them. ;)

So this is going to sound sarcastic or snide but I am sincerely asking you to explain this to me. If you don't mind. I see a contradiction between this kind of exclusion and judgement and what is at the heart of the New Testament. I assume you do not. Can you explain that to me?

If you read all of my posts in this thread, they should give you the answers you seek.

See I didn't exclude or pass judgement on any of her or my gay friends. I set boundaries and they followed suit.

The Lord will make the final judgement for everyone.

then how do you put any ,excuse the term, faith in what is written or what GAWD wants/needs/desires?

How do you know what a sin is or isn't and who should or shouldn't be embraced by religious leaders?

Okay, but it seems you do that towards gays in general. So does that model change when dealing with the gay community as a whole? If so, why and how and how is that change in keeping with the heart of NT message?

No. as a matter of fact, most of the Gay individuals I know are not part of the militant, agenda driven sect. These I consider the worst example for our children, trashing religion, the family unit and any other group that they consider a threat to their 'lifestyle'.

That is of course where I started my participation in this thread.

Now that you have tried deflection try an answer.... when the Mother Church, when Southern Baptists allow adulterers, thieves, murderers, whores, wife beaters to receive the word of GAWD in the Church why can't homosexuals and why can't the Boy Scouts meet in the community hall out back?

If adultery and murder are in the 10 commandments then why are not all adulterers and murderers banned from receiving the Holy Word?

Still no idea who this Gawd fella is.

Now as far as the word of GOD. Anyone can receive the word of God, nobody has said otherwise, some just deliberately choose to ignore it. (Gay, adulterer, liar, thieves, murderers, prostitutes, etc) Who has been selective?

I am honestly curious about this and I appreciate you answering my questions.

And what kind of behavior do you define as militant?
What do they do when they "trash" the fam unit etc?
 
This pope is a true Christian leader who walks the walk and who realizes that the essence of Christianity is the positive message of hope and love in the gospel, not the fetishized denouncement of minorities that particular purported Christians (who probably are projecting) have.

A Catholic church that goes back to its roots in helping the poor and preaching the good news of transformation through love will be a force for good in the world, after years of retrograde policies.
