Pope Francis: Church can't 'interfere' with gays

Changing the definition of marriage IS promoting their sin and advancing their sin.
Nobody is asking christians to change THEIR definition of marriage.

Christians did not invent marriage, nor do they hold a patent on it, so they do not get tto force their views on others.

And I haven't seen any change in the definition of marriage. Its still a lifelong commitment between two people in love.

God created marriage.

If you can prove it in a court of law, we will change immediately. Otherwise it's just bigoted rambling.

Prove that God created marriage? Why does that need to be proven in a court? Adam and Eve were the first marriage, and guess who joined them together? God. Historically documented in Genesis.

Yes, we live in a society that requires proof. Genesis was written over 2,000 years (by Moses) after the events occured, so it can not be used as historical evidence. The first marriage recorded was around 2300 BC, which is about 700 years before Moses was born.

Religion didn't even become involved in marriage until the catholics came along and absorbed it. That is the first time a priest was required for a marriage.

Lastly, assuming you guys did invent it and you somehow hold a patent on it, why do you only want to deny gays the right to it? Shouldn't you believe atheists, muslims, buddhists and all other non-christians shouldn't be allowed to marry either? Why do they get to use your thing?

God created marriage.

Christianity created the "Sacrament of Marriage". If same sex couples were trying to change that, I would be very much apposed. But they aren't.

They are using the same word we all use for a couple who wants their relationship acknowledged. They are married, whether it be by priest, justice of the piece or a storm trooper. Marriage is a common word for union. It also happens to be one of the Christian sacraments. By using the word, it does not imply that you are specifically talking about Christianity.

My chihuahua created the sun using her ears as microwave transmitters.

Prove it? Why does it need to be proven?

You may be interested to know that global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters are a direct effect of the shrinking numbers of Pirates since the 1800s. For your interest, I have included a graph of the approximate number of pirates versus the average global temperature over the last 200 years. As you can see, there is a statistically significant inverse relationship between pirates and global temperature.

From the church of Pastafarians.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! We have history books today that were written years after the fact yet accept those as valid. What a stupid argument.

Utterly false.

and Lilith is Adam's scandalous affair.

it is accuarte to say that the bible contains equal amounts of fact, history, and pizza.

For one that is a stupid argument because your stupid dog (if you can call a chihuahua that) isn't that old.

There is however evidence to support those books. History books are written based on evidence gathered. If you can show me evidence that you created and patented marriage, I will become a believer and start hating gays right along with you.

And you didn't answer my question: If you own marriage, why can those from other faiths get married and not just christians? Are you just being gracious by allowing them to get married?

All marriage is supposed to be sacred.

In the Christian religion...yes. The Sacrament of Marriage is suppose to be sacred. I agree.

You can still get married and not be Christian. It is a common word. Marriage is just a recognized union. For Christianity it is a sacred Sacrament.

Because marriage is one man and one woman. That's why.

religion is a institute created by Man, the bible is a collection of sacred texts that were deemed canon by the bishops of the council of Nicaea. the content of the bible was dictated by a committee.

Actually not completely true. Christianity was created by God Almighty, and He gave us the Bible.
