Maryland counties join movement to secede from largely Democrat-run state[W:59]

Re: Maryland counties join movement to secede from largely Democrat-run state

Well you did say that Maryland was worse than NC. They're both really bad and its hard to compare them. Maryland gerrymandered to take out Roscoe Bartlett and add some high profile donors to Sarbane's ridiculous district. North Carolina made some terrible gerrymanders, taking Ashville out of Shuler's district for no reason and making 9 safe Republican seats compared to 3 safe Democratic seats to go a long with Mcintyre's. Of course to be fair they were making up for a pretty bad Democratic gerrymander in 2000.

What's worse? Correcting a bad gerrymander or creating a new one out of spite for Roscoe Bartlett?

Neither. Gerrymandering is bad for citizens. Just because one side did it to the public first doesn't provide any justification for screwing the citizens later.
