Man plotted to kill and eat children, feds say

Ha. I knew it. The hypocrisy of it all....BTW, how does one go about having a free range house? Is it like a motor home, or what?

Now that's funny right there....

Considering that your example "monster" as eaten exactly zero children, you have provided none yet either.

I have already conceded to your argument that the Feds should have waited at least 20 minutes after he had eaten a child before arresting him

This way, they could waterboard him without having to worry about him cramping up

Only undocumented alien I know that has eaten children.

There are task forces on every law enforcement level going after pedophiles on the internet. I'm sure that's how these idiots were uncovered.

Then why not include that in the story? These sensational stories, "3 caught nationwide", are all well and good, but also mention millions that are not caught. What percentage of internet pedophiles identified are ever stopped or charged? Making a few, high profile, busts for "planned" crimes may be good for the funding of these programs but I suspect that Boston has bigger fish to fry than wanna be cannibals surfing the internet.

Why did this guy only get 27 years in prison, why not a lot more?

Well, I'm not going to try to answer a question about why a reporter wrote the story he did; but most people know that pedophile rings proliferate on the internet. And most people know they are plenty of task forces going after these perverts.

Compounding the Devastation
I can only imagine the pain and embarrassment that many sexually abused children face today. The Internet has brought sexual abuse to a new level. With today's technology, abusive acts can be broadcast in real time to other pedophiles who want to view that abuse. Sexual abuse that is done in secret is devastating, but that devastation is compounded many times by being made public. The humiliation would be almost unbearable.

The Worldwide Web of Perversion
In the story coming out of Australia, the Queensland Task Force, Argos, discovered a pedophile ring composed of parents who sexually abuse their own children and used the technology available today to broadcast that abuse to an international ring of other parents who were also engaged in the sexual abuse of their children. This led to the discovery of a British website that is open only to parents who sexually abuse their own children. Using Skype internet sessions, they were able to broadcast live sexual abuse of their children to members of the group. Chat logs also led U.S. Police agencies to families in Texas and in Michigan, where arrests have been made.

This is just one puny example. It's everywhere. Many local law enforcement agencies have their own task forces for internet stings. It sends a great message: "If you are trying to solicit under-age sex on the internet . . . if you are sexually abusing children and posting it on the internet . . . be afraid."

Yep. Many of them multiple times.

Meaning that the feds are doing their jobs AND able to catch online predators too. Wow, doing two things at the same time, imagine that.

As long as you are happy with the crime and law enforcement situation in the U.S. then I guess I should be too. ;)

Happy? No, however I am content with trying to prevent heinous crimes over minor ones. Just saying.
