US plans for '3 days of attack' on Syria

Yeah.....well all should have had so much of a concern when the Rebel/Terrorists decided to use them. The First time. That should have sent the same Warning Bells off as well as the World waking up and saying. Damn.....terrorists just got their hands on some chems and could get more. We best do something about that.

To think we could have just hit the FSA command and their STNC boys in Turkey.....then this whole conflict would have ended a year ago. No one trusts traitors on any side. In the true reality of things.

What delivery system does the terrorists have for Sarin gas or chemical weapons?

Because it's clearly a choice between only two options. Keep your mouth shut entirely or slander and berate a decorated veteran due to his age and the fact you merely disagree with him. Good thinkin'

Yeah, save that for when he is running for president!

Any homemade rocket will work. Uhm.....that's homemade! Although just where does a terrorist call home.

I think the point here is that we can't oust Assad, replace him or make peace between any of the factions.. rebels, terrorists or otherwise... but we can put our foot down on Sarin gas or chemical weapons.

I think the international community is opposed to Sarin gas WMDs and chemical weapons of any sort.

Being opposed to something and actually blowing up stuff and killing golks in a foreign nation are two different things. I may be opposed to my neighbor smoking in his yard, but that does not give me the right to try to stop them.

The targets will not be urban areas... They will be airstrips and such to degrade the delivery systems for chemical weapons. Sarin gas isn't cigarette smoke.

Ah, the old "Bush had his wars, Obama needs his".9/11 was the impetus for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Wars Obama promised to end. Still in Afghanistan.
Do this Syria thing, and I will put money that we will be there for years.

No, just pointing out the hypocrisy of many on the right. It was fine when Bush did it to them and they re-elected him to do it more.

As long as we don't look like hypocrites and allow terrorists to even think they can get away with using them. Most countries should know better. So terrorists getting to stockpiles of them and using them Should be of the Upmost Priority. The UN and all should be swooping down on any terrorists.

Especially if any of their groups names are on Terrorists Watch Lists.

Right now there are many fighting inside Syria. Good Opportunity to kill them enmasse and not even allow them to leave.....except for one way. Solve a lot of future problems coming down the line with these groups too.

Interesting article.. but no mention of Sarin gas.

You asked for delivery systems capable of delivering sarin gas. Those are two systems that can be used. Gas attacks require larger munitions with the high explosive component replaced with a chamber for the high pressure gas or a two-chamber system that carries the two ingredients that would mix on impact. Either way the warhead is the lesser of the two hurdles. The biggest hurdle is the system capable of delivering heavy rounds down range.

Sarin is usually only deadly when encountered in high concentration, so the efficacy of the weapon depends on the amount of Sarin the weapon can dump in an area, hence the need for heavy munitions.

The "Unleash Hell" can carry a 160kg munition. More than big enough to cause create zones of lethal exposure.

Where are they getting Sarin gas from? The US had the largest stockpile in the world (in Alabama) until it was destroyed some years ago.

Ahh but this isn't a thread about "manliness", this is a thread about issues. Or are you saying that it's ok to be wrong on the issues as long as someone is appropriately "manly"? Here's a hint this is 2013 and not the stone age, where the intellect puts us above the animals. I'm not even going to mock you for your homoerotic fascination with a 77 year old man.
You are the one talking about giving him a blow job, not me.

You missed the point. What "international community" is going to do this "humantarian" bombing?

So where are the rebels, or terrorists getting large quantities of Sarin gas?

The US has been vocal in opposing chemical weapons since WW1.. Was that just small talk?

Great, YOU didn't, most of the right did. And if you voted for Bush a second time, you did to.

I didn't support the war in Iraq either.... and I voted for Bush the first time.

That depends, do you feel the U.S. should be the world police?

The problem I have with people thinking the U.S. should be the world police (not saying you do until you let us know), is that we can't be everywhere and we can't police everyone. So when we do decide to "police" a country, we usually do a poor job and even the decision of where to police is lousy. How many deaths happen in Africa, North Korea, China, etc? We can't do it all and frankly we shouldn't do any of it. We have a U.N. for a reason and if the members of the U.N. can't pony up money, troops, and support, we should just withdraw and be done with them.

Well, according to the bragging rebels/terrorists they have been able to defeat Regime forces, take over facilities, while even executing their prisoners. Right in the Middle of the Street.

Moreover we even have had an Assad defector who stated their were facilities that were easily open for the taking. That Assad's forces at some could not stop the Rebels from over-running them. Especially in the North.

There is no way to police Syria... But that's not really the objective. The objective is to stop the use of Sarin gas everywhere.

You do know that Assad's brother is a ruthless man and he controls the Syrian armed forces.

Exactly, you are correct, there is no way to police Syria. So, if the objective is to stop the use of Sarin gas everywhere, then Obama's plan of a strike is in no way going to accomplish that since he had already said the strikes would NOT be at the chemical facilities nor will there be boots on the ground to get the Sarin gas. His whole plan is just plain stupid.
