San Antonio Adopts Disputed Gay Rights Measure[W:208]

Re: San Antonio Adopts Disputed Gay Rights Measure

Wrong the courts have issued rulings which you support, telling people they have to associate and serve people they don't wish to.

Wrong. Individuals are free to associate (or not) with whom they please. Public accomodations are not.

Re: San Antonio Adopts Disputed Gay Rights Measure

Then buy a deserted island, move there and crown yourself king.

Until then, you'll obey the laws of the land, or pay the penalty for breaking them

There are no islands that are for sale and have a sovereign title go with them. Its off planet if I want that and even that would be disputed. I have looked into this quite extensively. I would need to quite literally steal an island or planetoid. As far as the laws and this being a nation of laws, sorry buddy but that is no longer true and has not been true for some time. Its whatever you can get away with here. Laws are followed only when convenient here especially by the government.

1.)Wrong the courts have issued rulings which you support, telling people they have to associate and serve people they don't wish to. The two cases being discussed here, the Wedding cake case and the photography case. Those rulings are forcible association and servitude.

nope
there are laws, rules and rights that businesses ,must follow and not infringe one's rights

if one isnt civil enough to follow those laws, rules and not infringe on those rights one has the freedom not to open a public business

so like i said nobody is telling you to serve or associate with anybody
pretty basic

Just invest in this:

"The ultimate goal," Friedman says, "is to open a frontier for experimenting with new ideas for government." This translates into the founding of ideologically oriented micro-states on the high seas, a kind of floating petri dish for implementing policies that libertarians, stymied by indifference at the voting booths, have been unable to advance: no welfare, looser building codes, no minimum wage, and few restrictions on weapons.

Business especially one man business it does come down to freedom of association and involuntary servitude, whether you like it or admit it or not. If I own a taco wagon I cant tell people I don't like to go pound sand I am required by court ruling to associate with and serve them whether I choose to or not. I should I could not serve them but I would be sued and put out of business. An individual business person in NOT free to pursue their chosen business and associate with those they choose.

Like I said, I did extensive research into this. Those are unviable. Why because the United States and a few other countries claims the right to inspect any vessel on the high seas. Especially those without a recognized flag. Those nations would be considered vessels. Unless they were very well armed, they would be in even less of a position then if they were a flagged ship.

Your dead wrong. See post 232. The recent court rulings in the wedding cake and photography session prove you wrong.

You can own a taco stand and refuse to sell tacos to whomever you want, but not if you choose to operate it as a public accommodation.

If you don't like the laws, then you can go pound sand.

no they dont they prove me 100% right,

for the photographer the courts enforced the rules that already exists not my fault or the courts fault those photographers were to stupid to follow them
they CHOSE to get in business and they CHOSE to break the law. Nobody forced them to get in business and break the law. You are factually wrong

the bakers case is even better
these idiots did the same as the photographer but no courts even ruled on anythign yet. Because the story spread like wildfire and it SEEMS they posted racists and bigotedposts on facebook people boycotted them and they lost over 50% of thier business so they decided to do a private practice instead of public accommodation

both these cases prove me 100% right

A taco stand is considered a public accommodation. Hence a violation of my rights to freely associate with those I choose, and forced indentured servitude. I could choose not to run a taco stand and preserve my other freedoms and destroy my ability to pursue happiness in my chosen livelihood. What a great choice. I don't like the laws because they violate MY rights. Your rights end at my nose and wallet.

That's a lie and a smear

Quote me where I said " I hate &^%$". If you read my post history, you will see that I say the exact opposite

Like I said. You are unable to debate the issue

Re: San Antonio Adopts Disputed Gay Rights Measure

Maybe it's just me, but I just can't fathom why ANYONE in this country would have to fight for rights afforded to us ALL by the Constitution. It shouldn't even be a question, much less a debate or legal fight.

But like I said, maybe its just me....

Polls show that the majority of people in the USA have good hearts and support equal rights for all.

But, unfortunately, some Americans are still haters and the rest of us will just have to drag them, kicking and screaming, into the 21st century.

"Tolerance is giving to every other human being every right that you claim for yourself." ~ Robert Green Ingersoll.

Your defending rules and laws which violate a persons FUNDEMENTAL rights to freedom of association and further, supporting and encouraging forced servitude. The laws force people to make a choice between pursuing happiness in their chosen work as business people in profession of their choice, and preserving their inalienable right to associate with whomever they choose. The difference between private practice and public accommodation is so small as to be negligible simply a membership card or paper paid or not. For example Costco could be said to be a private practice because you must have a membership to shop there. This means they could theoretically discriminate against ANYONE, and do so legally. Walmart on the other hand is legally prohibited from discrimination because they DONT have a membership requirement. Back to my Taco stand example. If I don't have a membership I can be sued. If I do have a membership requirement I am home free. I trust you begin to see the inanity in the law I do. Its so obvious even Ray Charles could see it, and he's dead. So why have these laws in the first place? All they are is gotcha paperwork violations. Require a membership and poof no more law problems. That's just insane.
