'We have our plans': Vladimir Putin warns US against Syria military action

Actually, Common Dreams cites the Sunday Herald which is a mainstream source.

For the other citation, how does Foreign Policy sound?

Exclusive: CIA Files Prove America Helped Saddam as He Gassed Iran - By Shane Harris and Matthew M. Aid | Foreign Policy

Foreign Policy is a magazine produced by bloggers. And it's claiming an "exclusive".

Who gives bombshell exclusive information to a blogger magazine? Do you think that's a wise financial decision? Is it a wise dissemination decision? No, it's ridiculous.

So you are just going to ignore the fact that the CIA has admitted to America helping Saddam gas Iranians. You are just going to scream "bloggers" as to ignore that information?

How about The Atlantic Wire? New Docs Detail U.S. Involvement in Saddam's Nerve Gas Attacks - Abby Ohlheiser - The Atlantic Wire

Or The Week? How the U.S. helped Saddam Hussein use chemical weapons against Iran - The Week

Re: Putin says Russia has its plans for Syria

 "he has his plans"?

Russia is not going to risk a shooting war with the U.S. over Syria. Bet your life savings on it. He's trying to sound menacing when what he means is "we would continue to do what we have been doing - supplying the Assad regime generally as best as we can given the circumstances.

Putin is bluffing. The sad part, is that Obama will fall for it.

Why do you keep citing editorial/blogger magazines?

Those are pretty mainstream online sources. Why do you keep denying the information that is right in front of you? Hell, the article I posted from The Week also cites the Washington Post. Or is that a "fringe source" to you?

EDIT: Foreign Policy is owned by WaPo. It's a legit source of info. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_Policy#cite_note-2

Hmmm, now where is this in relation to known chemical sites....

NTI Facilities Displayed with Google Maps

Hmmm....They look pretty close....Sure would be a shame if a stray hit Tartus wouldn't it?

Heya JMac. :2wave:

It's a magazine of bloggers and ex speech writers. It's clearly biased, via numerous avenues.

How about straight from WaPo, a mainstream source?

It's worth noting that academic studies, not to mention U.S. government documents released in 2003, had long ago revealed that the U.S. knew that Iraq was deploying chemical weapons against Iran and still provided Saddam Hussein with intelligence assistance.

Satellite imagery can be used to violate human rights, or to protect them

Also, you act like blogs don't have any credibility. Guess what? Paul Krugman has a blog on NYT. Does that suddenly make him uncredible? Blogs are a major help. http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2009/03/the-truth-about-blogs.html

Heya Mr I. :2wave: As long as they are referenced and validate the facts.....then there is no issue. Many journalists and reporters are blogging today. There is no getting around that fact. Even MS Media news reporters. ;)

I guess that means in the end if Obama decides against taking us to war with a country that has not attacked us, you will be sad.

What it means, is that if he doesn't carry through with his threats, is that it will cause more American deaths down the road.

Right now, he's looking weak in the ME and the bad guys will take advantage of that weakness.

His threats were unwise. Nobody wants Obama to follow through on unwise threats.

Re: Putin says Russia has its plans for Syria

Russia will do what they did during the Cold War, SWEET FA

Even more unwise to send a clear message to the enemy that he will back down when things get tough.

Re: Putin says Russia has its plans for Syria

Looks like Dick (Tater) Cheney is still in charge of our policies in the ME. Despite the fact democracy in the ME tends to produce Islamic Fundamentalist states strongly opposed to minority rights and opposed to US interests we keep doing the same stupid crap.

Yep, the idiot painted himself into a corner.

Yep, the idiot painted himself into a corner.

That's a fact and the more he tries to weasel out of his predicament, the more the bad guys are going to exploit the situation.
