John Kerry: ‘We Are Not Going to Lose’ Vote Authorizing Syria Military Action'

Let me tell you Snappo what a lunatic is. Anybody that advocates attacking a country that hasn't attacked us, against the will of americans, without congressional approval, in direct violation of international law and the UN with the risk of drawing in Iran, China, Russia and who knows who else. THAT'S A LUNATIC.

If congress gives the authorization, the people will go ape **** with anger.

he's right... Congress with vote "yes" to military strikes.

And to me, thats the part that is troubling. So many people are making comments and taking sides based on their partisan ideals.

Well, we do have the Rebels lying to the MS media and others.....so we know their word cannot be accept as the gospel. The UN says they are guilty of Genocide and atrocities too.

So the Media can't no longer tout them as the good guys. Which is why they changed terminology to the Opposition instead of the Rebels.

The evidence does not point squarely at Assad, it is still unclear who used the gas. Anyone who says otherwise is either naïve or a liar. And Obama hasn't got a clue, to him this is 100% political.

There's millions of people in America who think there was this guy named Jesus that was born of a virgin, died and came back to life and is floating on a cloud waiting to come back for them, and we don't call them lunatics. It's people's beliefs, SO WHAT. During his ten years presidency, how many nations did Ahmadinejad attack? Only racists and bigots want to bomb countries that haven't bothered us because they are of a different race and religion.

So Obama is a racist and bigot for bombing some countries chock full of muslims? Really? You know Obama is black and his dad was muslim, right? If you think believing in zombies walking the earth for 1,200 years makes you sane; you need to re-think what you believe sanity is. And justifying Twelvers as being sane just because Christians believe in virgin birth is also rather silly.

The evidence does not point squarely at Assad

Last I heard most of the evidence is classified and has only been shared with some Senators. Are you a member of Congress?

The US Constitution does not play second fiddle to laws created by other countries. But that having been said, it is quite possible that Obama has the right to bomb Syria without Congress. I trust the guy - if he bombs Syria I support him 100%. And no - a lunatic is some guy who believes in 1,200 year old zombies and gasses thousands of his own people for laughs and giggles. Assad is no different than Idi Amin, Charles Taylor, or any of those other homicidal lunatics.

Heya Snappo. :2wave: I agree the Arab league should be the ones dealing with this. Not anyone else. Other than to make sure they aren't going to spill that sectarian divide into other Countries and inflame things there.(despite us knowing they are)

Like Kerry said.....if we can't turn a blind eye on Assad. Then we can't do so on the Rebels with knowing what they did and are made up of.

Honestly I am not in love with any of the groups with a dog in that hunt: Assad, Hamas, Al Qaeda, etc. - those are all some really dangerous nutcases and they have a lot of weapons.

LOL.

I love this part. "we have to go to war but we can't tell you why. It's classified."

In watching some of the testimony yesterday, the liar Kerry told one of the Senators pretty much the same thing. He said he would have to go get the classified report on why it is clear Assad would use chemical weapons again. Like it's been proven with no doubt he did it to begin with.

It would be funny except these clowns are serious.

If the evidence was clear, I think the Congress wouldn't be as split as it is.You're not a member either, but somehow you know that we need to attack.

The US Constitution does not play second fiddle to laws created by other countries.

Au contraire. There is nothing sacrosanct about the US Constitution - it is a set of guiding principles like any other, with some excellent aims, and some decidedly iffy ones. But as long as the US is signatory to the UN Charter and the International Courts of Justice, (amongst other international treaty organisations) it is subservient to, and bound by, international law. If it flouts international law, as it, and several of its lackeys, did in the instance of Iraq, it commits a crime against humanity. None of us, irrespective of how rich we are, or how many carrier fleets we field, is above the law.

Surely you're trolling with that. There's no way you can honestly believe what you wrote. Is there?

Mornin TOL. :2wave: To top it off Kerry says they expect the vote to go thru. As this is so very dire.

This goes to show us that he should never have been picked as the SOS. He is to weak and emotional. Bases his reactions off of his touchy feelings. This can lead to only more problems with him.

One thing is clear.....once Obama term is up. Not only will most of his policies be overturned. But we cannot forget to drive out of Washington. Anyone that was associated to him and his Team.

So hopefully this will be Kerry's Last Hurrah, and then we can drve him out of Politics for good as well as for the betterment of the country.

What a weak sniveling piss ant he is.

Russia has satellite imagery showing the Islamist extremists launching the attack.

No! YOUR the one advocating bombing Syria (into the Stone Age as you put it in another thread) and criticising people's religious beliefs when your own are at least as silly. I don't think Jesus would be advocating bombing anybody. And if Syria were to be bombed into the Stone Age to your satisfaction millions of innocent Syrian civilians would be dead, but that's where hate takes you.

...and that's ALL this is - a puny man attempting to save face in an arena of his betters.

The US constitution has no place for attacking a country that hasn't first attacked us, or threatened us with imminent attack. You warmongers need to ACTUALLY READ the constitution and WPA.

Oh your really going to pop some heads with that one. You have to understand that America does what it does because we're filled with people who think we should bomb such countries into the Stone Age, turn them into parking lots or a vast sea of glass. But they would have you to believe it is "they" that are filled with hate and lunatics, just look around here.

You must have gotten up early to milk the cows Beau. :)

Kerry holds objectors responsible for any future atrocities in Syria - Washington Times

Now Kerry is saying anyone who objects to the strikes on Syria are responsible for any gassing done by any government.

Nobody in their right mind would have placed Kerry in charge of anything.

At one point yesterday, he said several times, "what we are doing is not war". I started to laugh and then thought, this idiot is our Sec of State and these Senators are listening to him. I hope the Senators were sitting there pretty much because they had to be, not because they were expecting a briefing by someone that had a clue as to what was happening in the world. Remember, Kerry was one of the one's that was convinced that Assad was a reformer and that we should be working closely with him. That was just about two years ago. So was he stupid then, stupid now or stupid both times? Probably easy to guess which way I lean on that.

He's a yes-man for the Obama Administration. Man comes from the Senate, and doesn't appear to believe in the right congressional officials to object to anything. And what happened to the leftwing belief in coalitions? Who is actually onboard to support this, and actually participate in taking action? For the last 12 years we've been hearing about how Bush did it all wrong, but all I see is hypocrisy.
