Hasan has been sentenced to Death [W:198,239]

Re: Hasan was been sentenced to Death.

Given your comment of "lawful society," then I conclude you fully support brutality in prison.

You ignore, completely, the substance of my message. Prison is just another society to live in. He is not silenced nor defeated.

Charlie Manson said it was great. Accommodation, food, medical, and all the sex you wanted.

Re: Hasan was been sentenced to Death.

Who cares what an idiotic book of bronze age mythology says? This is a nation with a secular government, we don't pay attention to religious stupidity.
Many are giving Muslims a lot of attention.

Re: Hasan was been sentenced to Death.

About a billion people, including the majority of Americans.

And that number is falling continuously. Okay, better question, who *SHOULD* believe in an idiotic book of bronze age mythology?

Re: Hasan was been sentenced to Death.

Unfortunately. Lots of people are terrified of what the Muslims might do.

How do you MAKE someone with a life sentence without parole do anything? Beat him? Starve him?

It is a common theme that the same people who sob over the death penalty even for someone known for absolute certain did what he did - then turn around and advocate torturous confinement as their alternative.

He cannot be forced to work. Solitary confinement is one of the worst forms of torture, and under the Constitution he can not be beaten or starved. While he can be rewarded for working, he cannot be punished for not working. And all along the way, year after year, decade after decades, good people are having to go to work to pay for him, his housing, endless legal fees of his lawyers, his food, his medical care - everything - as he gets to be in prison a martyr-hero to himself and his "God."

It'd make more sense - and be cheaper - to just give him $500,000, a ticket out of the country and have a banishment order. As long as he is in prison, he is still among us, because some of us will be in prison with him, as will guards and others. And, like Hitler, he can write his manifesto plus preach his message to others there.

Why in the hell would we pay him?

Re: Hasan was been sentenced to Death.

Then they're idiots. Some Christians think demons invade their bodies and make them do bad things. There are stupid, superstitious people all over.

You're right about that.

Exactly. For some it is just another - and easier - way of life.

A deity having lost interest is a reason for ignoring His morals?

Who's morals? A fictitious skydaddy that someone made up 3,500 years ago? Just because I know the bible is immoral and silly doesn't mean I haven't read it or wasn't raised on it, you know. Have you ever offered up your wife and daughter to be raped, then cut them into 12 pieces after the raping was done? Bible says that's the right thing to do.

20 “You are welcome at my house,” the old man said. “Let me supply whatever you need. Only don’t spend the night in the square.” 21 So he took him into his house and fed his donkeys. After they had washed their feet, they had something to eat and drink.
22 While they were enjoying themselves, some of the wicked men of the city surrounded the house. Pounding on the door, they shouted to the old man who owned the house, “Bring out the man who came to your house so we can have sex with him.”
23 The owner of the house went outside and said to them, “No, my friends, don’t be so vile. Since this man is my guest, don’t do this disgraceful thing. 24 Look, here is my virgin daughter, and his concubine. I will bring them out to you now, and you can use them and do to them whatever you wish. But to this man, don’t do such a disgraceful thing.”
25 But the men would not listen to him. So the man took his concubine and sent her outside to them, and they raped her and abused her throughout the night, and at dawn they let her go. 26 At daybreak the woman went back to the house where her master was staying, fell down at the door and lay there until daylight.
27 When her master got up in the morning and opened the door of the house and stepped out to continue on his way, there lay his concubine, fallen in the doorway of the house, with her hands on the threshold. 28 He said to her, “Get up; let’s go.” But there was no answer. Then the man put her on his donkey and set out for home.
29 When he reached home, he took a knife and cut up his concubine, limb by limb, into twelve parts and sent them into all the areas of Israel. 30 Everyone who saw it said, “Such a thing has never been seen or done, not since the day the Israelites came up out of Egypt. Think about it! Consider it! Tell us what to do!”

Using the bible to personally attack Cephus for having a different opinion is against the terms of service.

Re: Hasan was been sentenced to Death.

Does Hasan deserve death? Yeah. Does Hasan want death? Yeah. Should Hasan be put to death?

I'm not going to shed any tears for this dog, one way or the other. My problem is that he wants to die, wants to be a martyr and when we execute him, he will be a martyr to his people whether we like it or not. The guy is paralyzed, in pain, cooped up in prison where medical care is an after-thought to some alcoholic medic who can't get a job anywhere else because of gross ineptitude. Thirty or 40 years of suffering seems to me to be about right for this particular individual. Decades of pain and misery ahead of him, and no martyrdom. Win-win.

He can be forced to work, just like they used to with chain gangs. How do you think they make lifers do anything? Jeez!

I did not personally attack anyone. I quoted Scripture. If Cephus feels personally attacked he needs to take it up with God.

I will not, under any circumstances, be discouraged from quoting Scripture any time I want to. If the administration doesn't like it that is just too bad.

A lot of paraplegics die young. They get infections and things like that. They're immunity is weakened too. Sometimes they die from something as simple as pneumonia because they are weak and cannot wean from a ventilator.

Hopefully this will be the case with him, because he will still be living for years and years, and a problem that I thought of with LWOP is that his medical costs will be through the roof. That might be an important issue to consider too.

We've already paid $300,000 in salary to this prick while he's been awaiting trial. If his "medical" care gets pricey, we can send him a bill. :)

That'll probably pay for his first couple of years of care. Medical care is so expensive. Since he wants to die anyway, I have a feeling he'll probably end up dead while he's still in prison.

I may only have been on this forum for a few hours; but this isn't my first goat rodeo. If the administration doesn't like it, they will ban you and it will be too bad for you, not them.

Personally, when people quote scripture to respond to things happening in the real world, I laugh. I have seen enough studies on religiosity versus IQ that I figure the best thing I can do is smile and move on. No way to help those folks. They will never understand the historical facts of religion, or even comprehend deluvial flood geology etc. Just have to let them do their thing and hope they don't hurt themselves or someone else. So I'm wishing you the best of luck, but am going to let you head into my ignore file.

The ignore file sounds like a winner to me! Of course it works both ways.

Christians tend to follow the New Testament.
