Tea Party Favorite Cruz releases birth certificate

I don't understand the confusion. The President must be a natural born American. Cruz is an American born in Canada. How can that be a natural born American?

If a family is on vacation to another country and has a child, do you believe that their child should not be a natural born American?

He did release it. Twice. First time was way back in 2008.

And how on Earth was Obama the "founding Birther?"

He and his author started it all. Way back when. Then years later Obama himself said he was ineligible to be President. So when you decide to slam "birthers", by all means feel free, just don't exclude any, especially the guy that started it all. Obama.

There was only a "controversy" in the minds of the fringe right-wing birthers....the rest of the country saw the BS for what it was. It was never a serious or legitimate issue for most people.

CNN poll in 2010 showed 42% of Americans were "positive" Obama was born in the US. Leaving 58% with doubts. As the president of all Americans it would seem the presidential thing to do is to go out of your way to ease the doubts of the 58%.... unfortunately the president was a douchebag instead.

That isn't a response to what I said, nor a valid argument even on the topic.

no, it's not the type of response you wanted, but it was most certainly a response to what you said, and forgive me if I don't rely on you to tell me what is or is not a "vaid argument" on the topic ...

My favorite Facebook quote on this story.............

"Four out of five dentists who confirm the authenticity of birth certificates as a side job tell me this thing is as fake as a two-dollar loonie. At least I think so. I was sucking on laughing gas at the time."

LMAO.

That was a real adult discussion.

Posting pictures of Bachman and whining about the "extreme right wing" is not a real adult discussion

You made specific statements and when asked to back it up, you lazily posted pictures of Bachman

#SMH

Anyways good luck with that :2wave:

Completely misrepresents the poll...another 29% believe that he was likely born in the US.....leaving only about 17% who had legitimate doubts. Of those 17%.....over 50% were Republican.
Sorry....the vast majority of Americans saw this as racist BS from the get-go. Obama had no obligation to cowtow to the Donald Trumps of the world and other wackos of the GOP.

look, that train left the station ... the guy is president ... if I were you, I'd start worrying about Cruz being a Manchurian Candidate ... the guy was born in Canada and his father fought with Castro ... he pretends to be an ultra conservative nut to get the GOP nod and if he becomes president he reveals that he is a communist like his dad and we're screwed ... it'll be too late then ...

And that is different from what we have now? At least with Cruz, there's a chance that he'll defend and support the Constitution.

The "birther crap" was based on legitimate questions about Obama's place of birth, I thought there was really no reason to pursue it, since there is no way it would go anywhere. If you have any "cold hard fact" that it was racist, please show us, because that is a big claim you are making.

Do you also have some evidence that a large amount of people think that only Caucasians are born in the United States? I assume that is what you mean when you refer to as a "person who didn't look like them".

And this is now a "wing" of the Republican Party? Of course, there are no racists that are Democrats, are there?

Think it wasn't racist? How many times had wackos from the Republican party demanded birth certificates from other Presidential candidates? Yeah....thought so. DOH!

...We see this sort of thing in the fact that anything Obama fails at is still Bush's fault some 5 years later...

Oh, boo-frigging-hoo!!! Poor little Bush.

Just saw this PPP poll this morning. The survey was in Louisiana and primarily for conservatives (82%).

Q2 Who do you think was more responsible for the poor response to Hurricane Katrina: George W. Bush or Barack Obama?

George W. Bush...28%
Barack Obama.....29%
Not sure.........44%

That would be first year Senator Barack Obama...LOL!!! So spare the - it's always Bush's fault BS

... so in your brain you think an argument about Cruz's politics is the same as whether or not he is eligible to run for president?

Are you feeling light headed?

I'm not misrepresenting the poll. 42% were "positive" the rest had varying degrees of doubt. It's there in black and white no matter how badly you want it to say otherwise.

The "birther crap" was based on legitimate questions about Obama's place of birth,

No it wasn't. Proof in a court of law regarding his place of birth was available long before the 2008 election, long before Trump's idiocy, and long before the long-form certificate was released. When shown that proof, birthers didn't stop.

Story after story was fabricated to email forward over and over and over, all under the guise of "just asking questions." It was all ridiculous, from the start.

Think it wasn't racist? How many times had wackos from the Republican party demanded birth certificates from other Presidential candidates? Yeah....thought so. DOH!

Asking to see someone's Birth Certificate is "racist"? How about passports? Is that racist as well?

Are you saying that people born outside the United States are somehow inferior?

LOL ... it's not often you get a con with a sense of humor ... thanks ...

Name another candidate that was raised in a foreign country that they would have to do this with because it was not clear where he was born?

... so in your brain you think an argument about Cruz's politics is the same as whether or not he is eligible to run for president?

Are you feeling light headed?

actually, after reading your posts I do feel light headed ... but I'll be O.K., please don't worry ...

It's clear you don't agree with the 17% of the 50%. That's fine. But why don't you believe Obama and his literary agent (I said author early, mistake on my part) and the story they published in 1991? Were they being racist just like the others you accuse? Or were they just putting out a BS story to try to make a little money from a bunch of suckers? Or did they put out the truth?

You have a very strong opinion of that 17% based on suspect evidence so it should be interesting to see how or why you don't believe the man who started it all. Obama.

I'm not a conservative, but I don't think this guy is someone conservatives want to hitch their wagon to ... even Paul thinks this guy is too far to the right ... at the end of the day, this country seems to be more center cut, with a slight right tendency ... Cruz is too far right .. and when he questioned Hagel's patriotism? That was truly disgusting. Under other circumstances Hagel would've decked his sorry ass ...

Instead of definingg 'right' or 'left' according to your own terms why not discuss the actual issues instead? Or is that a bridge too far?

And according to a non scientific poll in Kenya, 100% of the people think he was born there. What do you make of that?

this is why Cruz may be a Manchurian candidate ... he poses as a right-wing nut, but once in office he announces he's a communist like his dad ... wait and see ...

He has reached the pinnacle of his career. He might as well announce now.

Romney was a corrupt capitalist. Romney walked back his successes. Romney lost white con votes in purple states across the Country. He was not one of them.

What are you talking about? The only people that responded to all the talk about Romney being a horrible capitalist was people that weren't going to vote for him anyway. Pretty much no one else gave a flying **** if he was vulture capitalist or not.

sorry if you're having trouble understanding the discussion, and it is definitely a bridge too far to explain it to you in simpler terms ....

I'm more interested in what you make of that ...

No. Nobody said every time you ask any person for a birth certificate it's racist. That's stupid, and nobody said it.

Asking to see Obama's birth certificate, seeing that certificate and then deciding its fake, then launching into years worth of conspiracy theories, then seeing the OTHER birth certificate you demanded after the first one and declaring THAT to be fake because why not... yes, motivated by racism. You'll notice there's no similar conspiracy theories about any white candidates or presidents.
