No hypocrisy here. Obama's birth issue was over when he submitted his birth certificate just like Cruz's issue is over. Except you are trying to make it an issue now. That's where the hypocrisy is. Sorry you can't see that.
 
Cruz's birth issue is over too. He was born in Canada, he can run for parliment or something.

Exactly. The only argument to be made with Cruz is whether a dual-citizen can be president because the Canadian government granted him Canadian citizenship because he was born there.

If dual citizenship is the issue then he just needs to renounce his Canadian citizenship.

Hah, no. Ignorance of the law isn't an argument no matter how hard your side keeps trying.

Cruz was born a US citizen because his mother was 18 or over and a US citizen.

Obama's place of birth was only an issue because his mother wasn't 18 so his citizenship would have to be derived from where he was born.

Now hold on sparky, his Father wasn't an American citizen. He was born abroad to one citizen and one non-citizen.

It is at least, an interesting can of worms. I'm not saying it should disqualify him, but is being born abroad to one citizen enough?

LOL....it was over waaaaaaay before that....and let's be honest....with a large portion of the tea bagger/birther crowd it still isn't over because they cannot fathom the idea that someone who doesn't look like them could be a "REAL" American.

I'm not trying to make an issue of it at all. I think it is just silly. Cruz is a naturalized citizen like Obama and is eligible to run. My only point was to point out the hypocrisy of the teabagger birthers who all of a sudden are in a real dilema. Either be consistent or be a hypocrite....

It was never a deeply held belief for Republicans. Only for some crazies who wouldn't accept the evidence that Obama was born in Honolulu. It won't matter to them because to most of them what really mattered was Obama's party affiliation.

Those who are still waving that flag will continue. Most of them will also say that Cruz and Rubio are ineligible because of being born to non-citizens.
 
This in no way is the same as John McCain. John McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone, a US possession at the time and while his father was stationed there on active duty.

I'd have to know what kind of visa Cruz's parents had when living in Canada to even consider him eligible. Aside from that, I would have to say, no, he is not eligible for President.
 
In the end, the issue with Cruz will not be about him being born in a foreign country; it will be about him being from another planet.

No, it's the folks failing to accept the simple fact that the citizenship issues with Cruz and Obama are different because of the age of Obama's mother at the time of birth. If Cruz's mother was under 18 when Cruz was born then it wouldn't be an issue because Cruz wouldn't be a US citizen.

There was never any question Obama was natural born. He was born in HI of an American mother. Cruz, on the other hand, was born in Canada. See the differnece?
