Tea Party Favorite Cruz releases birth certificate

And we have older folks here who are, by most features, completely stupid (But I'm not naming names). Age is no measure of wisdom or knowledge.
I beg to differ, but yes age IS a measure of wisdom (I did not mention knowledge). We have kids coming out of college that can't balance a checkbook to save their lives. Kids who put hard drinking/partying as a priority over responsibility. Me...personally...I want a president who's had enough life experiences to gain some wisdom. I don't want a president who'll be serving Four Loko at the White House because it "gives a killer buzz."

Obama was a state senator. That is an official role.
Gimme a freakin' break. He was a senator? For how long...a week? He immediately began campaigning for the White House as soon as he was elected senator. One could argue that a part of why Illinois is such a disaster is because their "senator" wasn't even there during his "tenure."

It does matter. It's a constitutional issue. Like it, love it, hate it.
I told you it was my opinion. Do I need to explain what "constitutional issue" and "opinion" do not have in common?

I see plenty of elderly folk with the same problem. What's your point?

What makes you think that such a person could even get to the point where they're seriously considered for a primary?

1997–2004.

Google. Use it.

Obama was campaigning for Whitehouse back in 1997? That's news to me. Can you support this?

So is Arnold Schwarzenegger, who also is a naturalized citizen with eyes on the presidency but is constitutionally ineligible because he was not born in the USA and his parents were not citizens. If Cruz was born in Canada and his parents were not natural-born American citizens, the same constitutional ineligibility would apply to him.

Cruz’s mother was a U.S. citizen when he was born, and current U.S. law extends citizenship to anyone born to a U.S. citizen, regardless of where the birth takes place. The question is whether citizenship is the same thing as being a “natural-born citizen.”

Are there any qualification for office that are relevant?

I'd say citizen of the country. I don't see anything more than that. Age has no bearing about wisdom or knowledge as we've seen from very dumb, very ignorant, very unwise old folks here.

And time spent in country has no bearing upon their capacity to make decisions. Citizen should be the only requirement.

What you are saying is clearly untrue. Bain Capital created jobs, much more so than his Democratic opponent. Tally of Job Creation at Bain Under Romney Proves Vexing - WSJ.com

If you want a high paid union job just move to Detroit.

First of all, thank you for actually attempting to support your position... and using a credible source, the Wall Street Journal at that. You absolutely get an "A" for effort, but a "D" for result as the article supports the notion that Bain's job creation was pretty negligible as the companies that Romney bragged about received only small investments from Bain.

One company that I know well, Sports Authority, was hardly a creation of Bain. Rather, it was a roll-up of established sporting goods stores anchored by Gart Brothers, which was founded in Denver in 1928. The fundamental principle of a roll-up strategy is to improve the bottom line by 1) better buying power and 2) elimination of redundant administration. In a roll-up, all of the executives and most of the administrative management positions (buyers, accountants, marketers) of the other sporting goods companies are fired.... job loss for the middle and upper middle class. Roll-ups and outsourcing, resulting in loss of high paying jobs, was a Bain specialty. As I have pointed out before, when we sold our software company in 2008, Bain was a prospective buyer. We had to pitch to them how much we thought could be outsourced (how much we could cut high paying jobs out of the equation). They didn't think there as enough outsourcing opportunity for their taste.

Sorry, but even if Obama created ZERO high-paying jobs... zero is bigger than a negative number...

But, again, a sincere thanks for your attempt to support your position.. far too many here want to quip and think you should accept them as experts.

Post #252, windowdressing asked a question: "I wonder if this is true. Anyone know?"

The response was not totally unexpected but it does show a rather stunning inability, or is it a refusal, to read the words of one seen as a political opponent

False.

Why are you spreading lies?

Funny how the left will just swallow up complete fabrications and take them as facts without lifting a finger when it reinforces their false arguments.

So you would be of the position that, although born an American citizen, that person should be barred from running for President? A moot point, since this has been settled already.

Yes. For me born a citizen and born in the U.S. are two different things.

I read recently that his father was invlved in the Cuban revoultion and helped Castro get into power but fell out of favour after the war was won.

Could be. My grandfather was involved with Batista's government. He literally had to escape from Cuba after the revolution or face death or imprisonment. I remember it well. Scary times.

So it's not racist if you ask to see it once but it is racist if you ask to see it more than once, or declare it to be a fake? How is race involved in this?

Has there ever been any doubt as to where any White candidates were born?

There wasn't any doubt as to where Obama was born.

You just fabricated your own definition of "natural-born." Why?

You don't have to have natural-born citizen parents to be a natural-born citizen. There are two types of citizens: natural-born and naturalized. There is no third category. If you are a US citizen on the day of your birth, you are natural-born. Period. Doesn't matter where, doesn't matter whether one of your parents was an American on that day, doesn't matter whether they became citizens at birth or later in life.

Who is a "pure" white European responsible for sweeping our Nation,? Inspired by "How booze built America" on the Military Channel. Any percent of Native American blood, from east to west? Any other % that Cruzers not look down on? Cruz = Clarence Thomas; I got mine. You can'tor.

A fight over anchor-babies has yet to make the SCOTUS. It is part of the ID thingy. If ruled non-citizens, anchor babies cannot vote.

Repub strategy is deeply multi-layered and not to be overlooked. Without constant vigilance on registration and turn-out, Dems are doomed as in 2010.

Phillip Berg, Democrat, Hillary supporter was the original Birther, and his lawsuit against Obama in PA was supported and funded by the "Puma Party" a group created by disaffected Hillary supporters.

The truth hurts, but you will grow from it.

Read Lunatic Fringe Is Hijacking America, by John Avlon .. go ahead and read it. It goes into depth about the various crazy movements from both side of the aisle. The birther movement started with the Democrats.

It appears that Obama supporters are no more honest than Obama himself.

If you were intending to actually be taken seriously when commenting on Obama or anytihng for that matter, you kind of failed when you embraced that racist poster of Obama as an African witch doctor with a bone in his nose as you avatar.

Stay classy there champ!

Are you racist against witch doctors?

Say what?? His mother wasn't 18??

She was born in November, 1942. Obama was born in August, 1961. Why are so many Conservatives so bad at math??

Not unexpected given the best educated states are ALL "Blue" or "Purple" and the least educated states.... well, you guessed it ALL "Red"

America

Nonsense. This isn't some unsettled question under the law. "Natural-born citizen" has meant exactly what I said for a very long time.

Are you racist against witch doctors?

I'm a huge fan of freedom of speech. I was actually glad to see you honestly showing who you are. Your last redeeming quality of actually having integrity with yourself is kind of thrown out since you are taking the coy route. Too bad. You should embrace who you are... don't run from it. At least you'd have earned that tiny bit of respect.

Are you racist against witch doctors?

My apologies. I didn't realize your avatar picture wasn't portraying any negative image of witch doctors or tribal medicine. Therefore, you are not portraying any negative image of Obamacare. That's good to know, I'd hate to ascribe any beliefs to you that aren't accurate.

Maybe you could repost that in English?

Actually, we would all be better off if Obama was a practicing witch doctor, he would make a better witch doctor than he does a president.

My avatar show the kind of health care we will be stuck with if Obama's health care is ever actually put into practice.

Witch Doctor? Uhmmmm...and how would you connect Obama with "witch doctor"? I'm not a fan of Obama, but that's sounding a weee bit.....

Until the SCOTUS gets around to it. Repubs are after all of the amendements it seems from 13-17.
