RNC Votes to Block CNN, NBC from Hosting Debates.....

The RNC doesn't need an excuse or even a justifiable reason... It's their debates.

But that does not mean we are barred from looking at why they may be doing it.

Considering the debacle that was the 11-12 primary, it makes sense to limit candidate exposure at the primary level. If you can't stop your candidates from ripping each other's throats out on TV, you can at least limit the number of times the public sees that.

Its all moot anyway. The Republican chances of winning in 2016 are between slim and none.

Whoa there. That's a big statement.

The exception to the that: Christie runs. Unfortunately, as of now, he would not make it through the primary process (though that could change.)

Christie might, but it depends on whether or not the state leaders realize they're handicapping themselves by only listening to crazies in their party at the primary levels.

The Cons need to actually put up their presidential version of Christine McDonnell so they can get shallacked a the polls and perhaps then, they will listen to the general electorate and run candidates that have vision and can win.

Perhaps, but do you think that the GOP has the capacity for self reflection for this that the Democrats had?

Re: RNC votes to block CNN, NBC from hosting debates

A preemptive strike against a network for planning to run a documentary two years before the election takes place projects a certain level of insecurity and weakness. A poor PR decision in my opinion.

And does anyone believe the GOP wouldn't do this if they had a perceived, strong front runner two years out? RNC Is getting its panties in a wad because the Democrats beat them to the punch.

If the situation was reversed, the GOP would be putting on documentaries about how their candidate is the best thing since sliced bread two years out and constantly running them to get massive exposure.

What the hell is the point of having a debate if it isn't going to be televised?

Of course you will have access to the debates.....

Looks Like Priebus kept his word. The GOP has voted to block CNN and NBC out from any Republican Primaries. Only way they get in. Is to not run the Clinton Specials.

The Republican National Committee has approved a resolution to block two television networks from hosting GOP presidential primary debates.

Friday's vote affirms RNC chairman Reince Priebus's (ryns PREE'-bus) threat against CNN and NBC unless the networks drop plans to air programs about possible Democratic presidential contender Hillary Rodham Clinton. The vote at the committee's summer meeting in Boston was unanimous.....snip~

It looks like the Republicans need to get Michael Steele back, remember the banner year they had in 2010?

Tell me that after we have the House and the Senate in 2014. ;)

What republicans need to do is drop the RINO's and let the progressives adopt them..... Then the patirots need to join the libertarian party.... Of course if that were to occur most libertarians would have no problem calling themselves conservatives or republicans...

That's what needs to happen.

I suppose such an amend would have to start at an ideological level.

I'd prefer keeping libertarians isolated and out of public view.

Heya Nick

.....nah. Washington would be considered a RINO. Actually if anything.....we need to take a look at those that run around calling themselves Moderates.

Saving money and being fiscally conservative is common sense. Which leaves those that try to identify as nothing but conservative socially and politically. Which truthfully. If they are really into conservatism. Then the busy lil worker bees only need to concentrate on work. Not the lime light. True conservatism isn't about grabbing the lime light. It would be working behind the scenes.

Bottomline......Conservatives were never meant to Lead. Which is how it should be. ;)

So, we'd wind up with a RINO party (probably called something else) that would include most of the ex Republicans, a few more in the Libertarian Party, another party made up of far right, all with their share of the vote. I think the Democrats would applaud that idea.

from voter suppression to media suppression ... What will they suppress next? And they think this helps them? really?

I'm not a Democrat, but I'm good with that ... in fact, I'd go with Christy for the new GOP (although he may still be too smart and reasonable for them), Paul or Cruz for the Teabag Party, and Hillary for the Dems ... sounds good ...

Well, running that many Primary Debates during a Presidents re-election wasn't to smart in the first place. Also they should know how the MSmedia will play it. So there is no excuse.

they need to have fewer primaries, but it's dumb (and I hope they follow through with it) to do this ... primary candidates have to find a way to argue without damaging each other for the presidential race against the other party - Gingrich: Vulture Capitalist Romney ... accurate as all hell, but coming from a Republican?

You can't remove yourself from the general public. The Fox News channel has the most viewers, but it doesn't have the most diverse. Republicans need to attack Democrats anywhere they can, and that would include some media outlets with large audience potential.

you're right, but I hope they ignore you ...

Means they will have to get out there and stump more. More talking with the people rather than with each other. ;)

Those on the left like to term it grass roots.....as if it is a new meaning, some new words they think they thought of. Despite being round for a 150 years.

I think you're right about hitting the stump, but the message has to change if they want the vote of the fastest growing demographic groups ...

as to the left claiming "grassroots," I never heard they did ... ironically, the GOP is being hurt by the teabagger grassroots ...

You mean to tell me you never heard team Obama Speak of the grassroots? I mean I know he stutters a lot and much of what he says tends to get forgotten in a couple of days if not hours. But he did state it was what put him over the top.

Well you are correct on the Tea Party hurting the GOP.....course we could look at most of those that have been around for more than 20 years in Politics. Like those of the Johnny Quest McCain type.

I was referring to the left claiming credit for the word or concept ... but, yes, Obama's campaigns were masterful to say the least ... and, yes, very grassroots ... but at the end of the day, it's the corporations and super-rich who get the goodies ... :thumbdown

Yep your Right about that.....just like Obama giving them a break on his Obamacare until next year. Those damn 1%ers. Funny how when the **** hit the fan. How team Obama threw the middle class and the poor to the wind. In favor of them.

Que in Obama Stuttering <<<<< I.....I.....I.....Middle Class......Poor people......Ebil Republicans!

Makes perfect sense ... in order to broaden their appeal and reach more voters with their message they need to restrict coverage of their candidates campaigns...:lamo
/sarc...

just think how much worse it would've been had Romney won ... and the stuttering thing is so childish MMC ... How much did his speaking ability hurt him? Ask Romney about his stuttering in the 2nd and 3rd debates? please ... gotta get on a plane ... later

Hey.....I am not the one that uses the Stuttering thing as a tool and for the camera. That's your man. But I will call him out on it. Although if you really want to see Obama go into a total melt down of trembling stuttering. All one need do is Start using profanity while yelling at him. Then you will see that **** eating grin of a smile when he can't come back with anything off the top of his head.

As for Romney.....he didn't have the plan. Ryan did.

Sorry, this is jibberish. What are you talking about? How did Obama throw middle classers under the bus in favor of 1%ers. If you are referring to the extension of the employer mandate but the retention of the personal mandate, than I suggest you don't understand either. If you are not talking about that, I have no idea what you are trying to say.
