George H. W. Bush Shaves His Head for Kid With Cancer...

He is a great guy, plus he looks better bald.

I've always liked George H.W. Bush. Voted for him twice! :)

He's always struck me as a good man and a decent guy. This was a cool thing for him to do, and he seems to be having fun with it as well!

There once was a catastrophic accident in my community, and the former President helped us mourn. What was so wonderful was that he said not a word when he could've "taken over the show." What he did was leave Europe and fly here just to be here. I have no words to express my admiration.

What many don't know is that the former President and his wife lost their little girl Robin to leukemia when she was only 4. She is buried at his Presidential Library, where they will one day soon also rest. The man in the photo Maggie posted "gets it."

He seems to be a great guy and the Republican Canadians like most as he didn't piss us off in anyway especially like W. did.

I read some of the comments at the bottom of the MSN story...There are some real hateful people out there.

As bad as this place can get sometimes, those comments sections in those places are nasty beyond belief.

I've always wondered if Bush Sr. was just in the wrong place at the wrong time when it came to his re-election. I just can't recall him being embroiled in scandal (real or manufactured) during his presidency.

Perot cost him the election. He was a pro-choice Republican and took 19% of the vote. In addition to that, "Read My Lips" might have been the very first 24-hour news cycle shot-heard-round-the-world.

Aside from politics, can we all agree GWB seems like a cool guy to have some beers with?

:D especially since he wouldn't drink any of them.

I am not a George Bush senior fan (from a political point of view only) but this is a classy thing to do which shows he is a good person.

What doomed Bush Sr. was his telling the truth, that taxes would have to be raised, after previously making his "read my lips" statement. He lost a lot of support when he did that, and that opened the door for Clinton. He was speaking the truth, though, which is a rare trait when it comes to presidents. Bush Sr. was ( and IS ) a classy guy.
