Troll vs. troll. It is clear that the WBC understands it is a pure trolling organization out to just bother and annoy people. Just their response to this event that it got them in the news again shows they are very aware of who they are. because of their professional troll nature the effect of amateur opposition trolling is complete fail. You are not going to get them to freak out, though you may offend or disgust a few of their fans as seen in this thread. It depends on the purpose of the event. if it was just to mock for the fun of it then it is cool. if it was some attempt to make a statement through trolling you are really missing the reality trolls are there to be hated. you cannot be a troll hero because eventually you either have to turn on the idiots following you, or you have to sell out and the idiots leave anyway.

So let me get this straight, they made up a ritual, had a wedding near the dead person's grave, then named the lady a lesbian? And this supposedly makes them as bad as the WBC? The same WBC who base their actions on scriptures read at churches across the US on Sundays? The WBC who's message is not unlike that of Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, D. Moore & Jack & Billy Graham? Lol. Yeah, I'll take a few trolling satanists over the WBC's Christian Fundamentalist message any day.
 
Satanism is the dumbest philosophy I've heard, it's essencially just basic straight up everyday common sense atheism wrapped up in imagery so as to pretend to seam dark or whatever.

They claim to be moral nihilists and they claim to be all about slefishness and so on, but then they champion common sense liberal causes and so on, they claim to be hedonists but really just live like your average person.

They go on about "who's to day what's right and what's wrong, it's all relative," then go on to critique religion morally, and pretend that what they say is shocking ....

There is nothing more pathetic than someone pretending to be shocking doing something that's mediocure at best.

Just as valid and just as ludicrus as Westboro's position on homosexuality. I hope they follow up by showing up to Westboro protests to remind them that their matriarch is gay.

While I do object to desecrating graves or disturbing bodies for the hell of it, it doesn't look to me like either took place here.

One thing, though: Are we sure these guys are Satanists? They strike me as Discordians flying someone else's flag for the lulz.

I guess they gave it the old college try, but it doesn't look like it had much of the intended effect other than to give WBC more publicity. The WBC spokesman pretty much used it to preach some more anti-gay rhetoric. Besides, no one at WBC even knew the poor woman. She died very young when Fred Phelps was about 5 years old. He was raised by some other woman when his father remarried. Her grave is miles away in Mississipi.

Also, I'm not sure because I'm not a Satanist, but according to these guys' own website it looks like they might be violating one of their own Tenets, namely number 8:

Some of you are crazy. There is NO WAY these "satanists" are even close to being "equally as distasteful" or "equally disgusting" as the WBC.

Where do you even get that from?


Was this "gay ritual" carried out during the actual funeral for the lady?
Or was it done years/decades after her death?

Was it publicly announced weeks before it happened that this "ritual" was going to take place?

Was the grandmother a fallen veteran that was killed while on duty serving her country?
Or was she a hate filled, bigoted, ignorant, nincompoop that filled her families heads with stupidity?

I'm not saying the satanists acted with class and honor, but come on people, they're no where near the caliber of trash the WBC people are.

...This is just hilarious. After all the WBC's protesting and emotional desecration of military funerals, they're getting it right back at them.

Oh, and most of these "satanists" are probably just ****ing around and the whole thing is most likely a parody of epic proportions and, of course, trolling. Anyway, the WBC is getting what it's been giving in a far more amusing manner.

I like the tactics of the Rainbow House. They bought a home across the street from the church, painted it in rainbow colors and they have a gay couple living there.

Someone who punches a child in the face isn't "just as bad" as someone who punches a guy being a total dickhole to a woman at a bar.

Someone who lies that to his wife about her ass looking fat in a dress isn't "Just as bad" as someone who lies to his wife about cheating on her.

Someone who stole a candy bar on a dare as a kid isn't "Just as bad" as someone who robbed a store at gun point.

Is it perhaps immature or disgusting? Sure. But I think it's laughable to suggest that their mocking actions direct towards Westboro is anywhere NEAR on the "just as bad" level as Westboro's actions towards GRIEVING FAMILY of dead soldiers, murdered kids, or disaster victims.

For ****s Sakes...really? We've reached a point now that even something as disgusting as Westboro, we see "christian" on one side and "satanist" on another and we have to mindlessly say "THEY'RE JUST THE SAME"??!?!?! Forgive me, but the logic of them being "just the same makes zero sense so I can't POSSIBLY find another motivating reason for such asinine statements than standard old religious contentions

It's not about "Christian" and "satanist." I never claimed they are the same, but when it comes to desecrating gravesides out of a spirit of hate their intent and character is just as bad. WBC protests out of hate, these people protested out of hate. I'll say straight up that the actions of WBC are worse because they impact mourning families during the funeral/burial process, but the intent backed by hatred is "just as bad" where 2 groups purposefully decide to offend others by their own hatred.

If anything people have reached a point where they see "WBC" on one side and "getting what they deserve" on the other and somehow think the actions of these satanists isn't bad or is somehow justice. It's not, it's an act of hate of similar mind to those in the WBC.

As I've said several times in this thread, the satanists did not interrupt a funeral. They pulled a dumb stunt without an audience (beyond the camera of course) and the peace was not disturbed. So, no, they aren't the same or even similar.

Furthermore, they did not desecrate the grave.

They did it as an act of hatred against WBC. The hatred is like-minded.

You claimed it was "just as bad". Suggesting that their action was "just as bad" as WBC's action. You didn't claim their INTENT was just as bad (which again, I disagree, as their intent was to enflame and embarass WBC as opposed to grieving family members), you didn't claim their hate was "just as bad"...you just cast out a giant blanket that this singular instance makes them "just as bad", in a blanket sort of way, as WBC. You took a SINGULAR action of a group and used that to compared them as "just the same" as something with years of history of doing vile things that far exceed what that group did.

Have you ever lied with the intent to decieve Digsbe at any time in your life? If so, clearly you must be "just as bad" as Bernie Maydoff, because your deciet is "like minded"....because scope, context, quantity, and such things apparently don't exist in your world of morality.
