US Supreme Court strikes down voting rights act clause

This issue is at the very top of the pyramid. It is the master cylinder. It governs all other issues.
dude, you are all bent out of shape, and pissed at the court, becuase they didn't rule in your favor, but buck-up, you still have a opportunity to have them rule in your favor on another issue.

You admit racism. You have been against O-Bam-Bam since the night of the 2008 election when the collection of GOP congressmen got together to plot against him. We've been through this too many times? How many secret Koch conferences did C. Thomas attend with only Republican politicians and moneymen?

The alleged meeting of Repub Congressmen the night of the 2008 election is a lefty myth so far as I know. I certainly don't admit racism, and you're still not making any sense.

The SCOTUS is not an independent entity today. It may have been in days gone by but I'm sure FDR would argue otherwise.
You're going to have to explain that post. I can't make any sense of it.

Can you not understand that many simply disagree with his policies?

Did you read my post Paul? I don't agree with some of his policies either, but I don't question where he was born, I don't say he really isn't one of us (or doesn't know what it is to be an American), say he's a Muslim and Kenyan, I don't call him the food stamp president, I don't call him racially tinged names, etc., etc. ... but I don't like his drone policy, I wish he had gone for a single payer plan, the stimulus wasn't big enough (he didn't push hard enough on this), etc. ...

The SCOTUS is today as proudly independent as ever. Odd that you should cite FDR. He was the last POTUS to try to really undermine SCOTUS independence.

And that's the problem. I believe that the racial component in opposition to BHO is insignificant. Why? Occam's razor. Racism isn't needed.

all you've said is that it shouldn't be needed, not that it hasn't been used ... in fact, I've said that those who have used race or have opposed him at every turn regardless of the issue have done him a favor ... when there is valid criticism to be made, a lot of people don't bother to take it seriously ... the boy who cried wolf?

And the Koch conferences are also a myth, right? And that C. Thomas was present with his wife, a money-bundler for the GOP, is a myth too. The timing for this should give RepubLies time to quell we inmates of this Country. Got LefTEA? Roe v. Wade is coming. One at a time. Not that I like abortion.

not bent out of shape Ernie, just depressed, disappointed, and believe it or not, a little surprised -- but note that they took the coward's way out ... that was telling ... two steps forward, one step back ...

anyway, I really do have to go ... Another time Ernie ...

bj, you, better than anyone else, should realize there are idiots on both sides, but to concentrate on the few rather than the policies many are in disagreement with and dismissing those disagreements as simple racism is a bit shallow. This is my fundamental reason for calling out some of your posts. I think you're very intelligent and we would probably have a great time discussing issues in another "forum" so to speak...

And FDR was the last POTUSA to be truly undermined by a SCOTUS Corruptus until Obama, since you don't count Gore, who was much more than undermined.

Most of the "wolf crying" seems to come from BHO's advocates crying "Racism!"

...ok:)

Yes, many are bent out of shape...

and many more depressed, disappointed ... some angry ... others more determined than ever to right the wrong ... and others are celebrating, and that's disturbing ...

although the sad reality is that idiots are magnets for televison cameras and newsmedia, and capture all the attention away from quiet and reasonable among us.

The "Koch conferences" are perfectly legitimate exercises of political free speech. What's your issue? Mrs. Thomas's activities are irrelevant.

the few? racism coming from both sides? O.K. ... have a good night Paul .. another time ... I've been trying to get off for 20 minutes now, but I'm so popular that I can't ...

I can agree with this assessment...

Gore lost fair and square. FDR was tempted by fascism, but drew back.

Why would people be depressed that our country has progressed to the point where these voting laws aren't needed anymore?

You'd be surprised...
