Have you ever seen real poverty? Third world abject hopelessness? The kind of poverty that results in 50,000 children dying every day of lacking food and water?

I spent a good deal of time in the squatter camps of South Africa. I also have seen poverty in the United States though. Just because you turn a blind eye to it does not mean it doesn't exist. You can come off of your horse now.

Turn a blind eye? I live on 1200/month, in a neighborhood full of SSI, SSD and section 8.

They aren't really trying to help anything... They are trying to secure resources; oil pipelines, drugs, human trafficking routes, all the "black" money.

It makes for a better sell though, Obama's humanitarian bombing campaigns last year or so.

I do agree with you however... Or better yet, teach our kids that the "rock stars" are the engineers, the doctors, the scientists, entrepreneurs...

But, like most addicts it takes hitting rock bottom to rebuild.

Of course, but was Saddam at war with the US at the time? Were there any Al Qaeda within his ranks back them? I think not, Al Qaeda are clearly present in large numbers with the Syrian rebels.

From 1979 to 1989, he was a congressman. He didn't sell Iraq anything during the Iran-Iraq war. In 1989, he became Secretary of Defense.

Yes, I am! They told me about death and taxes, but thus far the latter has been no object. I think that I may escape that "inevitability" entirely. I could get food stamps and an Obama phone, but I haven't because I don't really need it. I think about doing so just to rub it in. I'd tell people that I fill my bathtub with Obama money and roll about in it each month.

But you do get a check every month from the gov't for living expenses. How old are you?

I don't get any government check. It's my 1200/mo (savings and investment) and I ask nothing of the government. What I should do is get a food stamp card, sell the 'stamps' for 66%, fill the tub with the cash, roll around it for a while and then go spend your money on hookers and booze. I think it'd be great, but it just requires a bit much effort.

I think you are in violation of a specific in-thread warning, so I suggest that you do not pursue this avenue any longer.

I did not see the in-thread warning until you pointed it out. You stated earlier that you think the US should be sending their money overseas instead of spending it here. Being part of the 47%, how do you justify sending other peoples' taxpayer money overseas?
