John Boehner calls Edward Snowden a "traitor."

How about standing up for the Constitution Boehner ! No such luck..... What Boehner really meant was that Snowden was a traitor to Big Goverment and not the American people. Because Big Goverment is more important to John than Conservatism or even Constitutionalism. The thought that goverment might actually shut down for a few days horifies him to the point where he will capitulate like a French General in the heat of battle. Boehner is part of the problem & it needs to get fixed soon. Please Kentucky primary his arse in 2014 and give us a someone who has a set and not this cry baby who has given us nothing but mush.

So....

.... the guy with the greatest incentive to criticize the program.... has instead indirectly endorsed it by describing the person who destroyed it in the context of the damage done rather than the information produced?

Well.... that's interesting.

No better example of the difference between Republicans and Democrats !

When Democrats elected that crazy witch moonbat plastic-face Pelosi as Speaker, no matter what she did or said, the liberals praised her.

When Republicans elected the noodle-spine whining perma-tan Boehner Speaker, many Conservatives have certainly criticized him.

John's becoming a footnote.

Ummmmmm ......... Ohio.

I agree. Obama could solve world hunger and cure cancer and they would still find a way to demonize him for it.
AH...but he hasnt 'cured cancer', has he? He HAS doubled down on Bush's policies, increased surveillance of US citizens, announced the intent to continue to do so, copied his foreign policy plans, extended and expanded the Patriot Act he ran against, re-signed the Bush tax plan...come on...be honest. As a liberal that hated George Bush, you didnt elect the guy you thought you elected...you elected the guy you hated because of his political affiliation.

Obama will most certainly be doing neither of those two.

But he could use the power of the IRS to harass his political opponents, and the power of the NSA to harass same, and dither in his roll as CIC while Americans were under fire, and liberals would still find a way to kiss his ass.

Well, a liberal being honest could probably say they elected a guy who at least did a few more things they liked than the other guy that was a legitimate option would've done.

You mean Hillary? :)

You mean Hillary? :)

Well, the primaries a different discussion than the main. And I'd suggest Hillary gave the impression that she'd have been MORE like this in terms of national security than Obama did, so not sure they would've been more happy with her.

If the government isn't doing anything wrong they don't have anything to worry about. :2razz:

Boehner's a fascist. Nothing new here.

I agree. Though I preferred Hillary, there's no doubt that she is more militaristic, and would have been more supportive of these sorts of national security programs

Now that the big cheese from the rightwing scene appears to be siding with the Obama Administration on this, will the RW sheeple change their tune to the new talking points of the day? Or will their hatred for that black, muslim, socialist, <fill in your favorite Obama slur here,> rule the day?

Enquiring minds want to know. LOL!

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Tuesday called NSA leaker Edward Snowden a “traitor” and said his actions are a “giant violation of the law.”
“He’s a traitor,” Boehner said on “Good Morning America.” “The president outlined last week that these are important national security programs to help keep Americans safe and give us tools to help fight the terrorist threat we face. The disclosure of this information puts Americans at risk.”

Boehner said Congress was fully briefed on the programs and that lawyers were always present to “protect the privacy of Americans.”

He needs something to help him get it up.

Really Boehner? Treason is punishable by the death penalty and the word traitor shouldn't be used lightly. If he thinks that whistle blowers pointing out what they believe to be unconstitutional criminality, violations of rights or just abject failures by people in government like himself should be put to death, then **** Boehner! (lol at **** boner)

If dissent is the highest form of patriotism then whistle blowers, in a government whose sole existence is for the defense of our rights and every member of it swears an oath to defend it, should be applauded as heroes. Provided that their actions do not jeopardize the lives of any covert operatives/operations.

I hope every single person in government or employed by it will whistle blow every single abuse, waste and scandal; to the chagrin of anyone terrified by the notion.

Bhoner is abusing his position to slander a citizen. Snowden has a right to due process like anyone else, and I dont think the person who would eventually be his judge should be convicting him of a crime.

Section. 3.

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

Ahem. . .

Among the information being collected in the phone records are calls made by federal politicians to various escort services.

-- Snowden 6/12/2013

He's an American hero. His actions exposed the corruption within the Obama administration and its blatant refusal to own up to its Constitutional responsibilities.
