Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181, 607]

Re: Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181]

It should noted people are not animals.

actually we are

What makes a person is more than the physical or biological.

sex is a biological trait

Re: Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181]

No, it really isn't. We do not concede to the basis of visual identification, based on physical characteristics, over that of actual genetic testing. We use them in the absence of genetic testing, when the better determination of genetic testing isn't available

right, your biological sex usually leads to various physical characteristics that help determine sex, based on visual identification, but they do not replace or supercede your genetic and biological sex

it wasn't a red herring. it speaks to you citing secondary characteristics as superseding what those secondary characteristics are derived from
I've never made any argument about "secondary characteristics" or anything other than to say that sex is not just DNA. Since, I've never made such arguments, your introduction of them into the conversation is, in fact, a red herring. I'm not going to debate a red herring. Period.

It speaks volumes, however, that since you can't deny the accuracy of my actual argument, you've gone on a tangent.

Re: Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181]

No, we are not. And we are more than the biological.

I'm actually interested in what you are eluding to here.

You really have no idea what he was getting at. Sad.

We think, have reason, fight biological instincts of all kinds, reach higher than just food and shelter, know compassion and hate and the difference. We're more complex, able to reach a higher plain. More than mere biology.

but at the end of the day we are still animals ...

Re: Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181]

No. We're more.

No, we are still animals, biologically. You can claim we transcended such philosophically or even spiritually, but we are still biologically animals

Which has what to do with anything?

Re: Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181]

This, again, is inaccurate.

The problem with your argument is that it limits sex to DNA. However, DNA is not the only thing that determines sex. DNA in addition to genitalia, reproductive organs, hormone levels and other aspects also determine the sex of an individual. You refuse to acknowledge this. You repeat the same argument in every thread about transgenderism and always refuse to acknowledge the above. It's time to stop.

Your DNA is what drives sexual development. In nearly every single case an embryo that inherits the X and Y chromosome will develop sexually as a male, this deviates only when an abnormality is present. Please note how I said people with health XY genetics (no abnormalities or fetal hormone problems) will develop male or female. People with genetic abnormalities may developed intersex or have abnormal sexual development. If you took a sample from a transsexual person their genetics (if they have a healthy genome) will state that they are the sex that they are born with. DNA is the backbone that pretty much determines everything physically about a person. The instructions for sexual development come from the DNA. A physiologically healthy male has a male body, that will not change.

Scientifically, one's sex is determined by DNA. In a social, psychological or cosmetic construct, it may be determined by other factors. But one's DNA determines whether a human being was born male or female. All the surgeries, counseling, hormones, etc., etc., in the world don't change that.

So. One day soon we will be able to change our genes. To reprogram ourselves. Until then there are hormone s and surgery.

Maybe change genes in a single cell embryo, but I highly doubt this will happen for adults. Changing someone's genetics may kill them, it will kill someone if you introduce an extra X or delete every Y chromosome in someone, their body will not adjust, especially to the extra X.

Even so, someone born male or female and then changing all of their genes would not likely physiologically change them. The penis would not turn into a vagina and the testes would not become ovaries, those organs have differentiated during fetal development and likely could not revert back and then go through development again because the genetics in an adult were changed.

How do you know the word biology? Can my dog explain biology?

The very concept of biology is human. We learn, adjust, redefine. Even biology is a human construct.

lol, if you seriously have some beef with humans being designated animals, I suggest you take it up with the long and extensive amount of scientific evidence supporting that conclusion. But I really have no interest in debating such a silly notion

but maybe this will help:

Well, I wouldn't say all of you dress up! But seriously, are you asking if humans are animals? If so, the answer is yes-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s!!!

Scientists describe virtually everything that is alive as animal or plant. So, if you're not a plant then you are an animal! In fact, you are a specific kind of animal called a mammal. Know what you all have in common? Your mothers have breast milk that can feed young; you have hair or fur; and you are born live instead of inside an egg or case! In fact, human mammals are born not only alive -- but kicking and screaming!

Can humans alter their DNA on a whim? I find your post extremely naive, bordering on ignorant...

Dude grow them from stem cells and do a transplant. We will be able to in 20 years.

We have become good at plants. Next animals.

You're missing the point. And you didn't answer my question.

Is this individual still on active duty?

No, but I can learn more about what makes up a human, and note that we are often more than one narrowly defined sex. Brain make up is different, largely made that way by the very DNA you speak of.

Good luck altering the DNA of a living "animal" in the hopes of changing it into something of your choosing...

Unless you are born a hermaphrodite, you are just what you are...

So... We grow sex organs in a lab and give them as transplants? Even if we could I highly doubt surgical medicine would advance to the point of being able to insert a completely foreign organ system into another person and have them be functional, especially giving a male a full female organ system.
