Coerced into playing? Not accepting someone doesn't coerce them into action. At best it just strongly suggests an undesirable action and strongly preferred action. They are free to decide on their course of action however. That is not say that people don't, but its not somehow a given.

Oh, I disagree that homosexuals have children to pretend to be "normal". My lesbian friend just had a baby through IVF because she just really wanted a baby (he's an awesome baby, btw).

There is no evidence to support this theory.

Especially considering a lot of trans people consider themselves homosexual. As in they are attracted to the sex that they identify with.

No, wait. You don't speak for all gay people. A lot of gays have kids and are not trying to play a "normal" game for society. Some may use their kids as "props" to support their straight pose, but this is not true for all. I'm sure you know better. This has been, at least in my lifelong observation, particularly true of the lesbian community. I know so many women who've married and had kids and then discovered/acknowledged that they're gay later. Also some men.

Well, I know a girl who thought she must be trans until she finally decided that she was just a lesbian, so I am not so sure as you are that there isn't a continuum .........

I know a fair number if gay people with kids myself. I am not asking about gays having kids, they clearly do. I am commenting on your assumed motivation.

Pretty old story, I thought it was common knowledge. Being that society was more socially conservative in years past many who were gay hid it, they married another of the opposite sex, had kids. Years later they finally come out of the closet.. divorce.. etc. Brokeback Mountain...

I'm not sure what everyone thought I meant.

I think nobody's situation is "cut-and-dried." If you regard folks as individuals, I think you can see that there are complexities in every situation and that each one has its own challenges.

:roll: Seriously dude? So a parent "threatening" to disown their child if they are gay is not coercion? Or kicking you out of the military, or being excommunicated from the church... this is not coercion? You call that a "suggestion"?

Regardless of the removal of the penis society would still dictate the idea that all born sexes will always be their born biological sex.

Sure it does. Society still creates the realm of taboo of things that aren't the norm, which is why the ex-SEAL in the interview was fearful of his teams reaction. Most of society today still believe even after sex reassignment surgery the person is still their born sex. If society still has a problem with homosexuality then it will most definitely have a problem with transsexuality.

Only a licenced medical doctor can prescribe hormones. An furher specialized visit to an endocrinologist will also required. Then to a surgeries. A Surgeon is a highly trained doctor.

You're confusing me. No physicians are required by those who think they are trapped in their own bodies.

Aren't you presuming that what we're discussing is limited to those who have self-identified as "transgenders" and who have sought a medical diagnosis? Do all those who suspect they're trapped in the wrong gender's body seek medical help?

I'm not sure what point you're trying to introduce to the thread...what's your real point?

Only a doctor can make a diagnosis. So one can't self diagnose.
I could care less some some drunk guy claims to be a lesbian trapped in a man's body for example.
