Mothers now top earners in 4 in 10 US households

Nice attempt, but fail. The Democrats base EVERYTHING in their strategy on making victims out of minorities and telling everyone in a bad way that it's not their fault, it's the fault of rich, white people. That's their platform, forever, without a single ounce of substance beyond that. Just keep feeding programs and handouts and feel-better speeches to buy votes.

Funny I'm a democrat and this is the first I've heard of it. I've also never collected unemployment even though I was out of work but found a job ASAP. This unlike several of my so called republican friends. The farmers here are diehard republicans but wouldn't be able to make it without government subsidies And CRP. Perhaps you better examine your own party.

A lot of women choose or prefer to stay at home to raise their children, so no.

I'm not so sure that most women can afford to stay home and raise their children and that is quite evident if you notice how many after school programs there are now.

That's certainly true. My wife likes to work, and it afforded us the opportunity to build our home in an excellent school district, which otherwise may not have been possible. There are a variety of reasons women work, but today, it is often a necessity.

You are the proverbial needle in a haystack.

My daughter is the bread winner. After their first child was born my son-in-law decided to quit his job and be a Mr. Mom which I thought was wonderful. Although there is nothing wrong with daycare, they were fortunate that financially he could afford to stay home. Once they were old enough for preschool, he went back to work. He's a teacher.

Depends on how much money plays a priority in your life.

Extremely rare occurence.

Not as rare as you might think American.

That depends on their ambition, we're not interested in outcome based results. They must achieve it. Can they achieve it, of course! Will they achieve it (like men have to)? It depends on them. Just remember there is no lifeline for men, if they don't achieve they fail. There is almost no chance (or very little) for men to marry up. Why is that? Two big reasons 1) successful women don't tolerate losers, and 2) there aren't enough successful women around who make that much more. Many men are even willing to be the sole bread winner, how many women do you know that will do that? I challenge you to find one, my guess is they are extremely rare. I don't care how progressive she is, women expect men to provide.

I know two couples who do that. Wives work full time and husbands are full time students. Nothing wrong with that.

So whites don't use social programs? Your response isn't helping your argument. You're stereotyping people according to race and gender, and calling them victims.

I mean really, there are well to do and very intelligent women and minorities not trying to enslave rich white men through welfare and food stamp programs.

In southern red states, there is a high proportion of people on welfare, unemployment, food stamps, etc. They just feel their case is different I guess. Welfare is theirs to take, and maybe that's why you get people like Erod just complaining about the minorities getting it.

the proverbial needle in a haystack.

I have never been on welfare either. You know there us such a thing as rich liberals, right?

I know many conservatives on welfare though. I would say they are very socially conservative and against abortion and gays, but not against living on welfare.
