actually the actual number of blacks on assistance has-in some years-exceeded whites but in other years there are more net white tax consumers. HOwever, per capita its not even close.

the right wing plan of course does not involve making dependency so easy and popular because dependents don't tend to vote GOP. They tend to vote DEM which is why the DEM party does everything possible to attach as many voters as possible to the public umbilical cord

wow we are really getting some place. The fact is many lefties denigrate and belittle millions of voters-often those who are paying the freight for lots of others. I have no problem with gays but in the grand scheme of things homosexual behavior has been unpopular with a large number of people throughout the ages and to pretend that those who find sodomy among two males something abhorrent doesn't make them the scum of the earth or "bigots" per se



I also note that few groups are as vindictive and vicious as gays who feel slighted by others

I deal in specifics, not vague accusations backed up by nothing. If you want to accuse the Democrats of engaging in the same behavior as Mr. Jackson, post specific examples as evidence.

the rich pay the highest rates on every possible progressive tax


they pay far more than they use in government services. most americans consume more government services than they pay for

I'm not really a fan of such rhetoric, as I prefer to determine taxation policy based on economic calculus rather than arbitrary concepts like "fair share". In any case, your example is nothing like Jackson's. Obama does not hate rich people, he is rich himself. I know who much you love to whine about how persecuted the wealthy are, but its laughable to compare the bigotry accusing homosexuals of destroying society with progressive taxation.

Workers do more work than they receive in pay. The top one percent get paid 1000x more than the average worker. Their effective tax rate is often in the teens. They are afforded many, many benefits the average worker does not get. Yet you stick to this one silly tidbit as though its an all ending argument. That extra money they pay in taxes is used to build society. A society that provides a framework for their businesses to function.

You cherry pick a couple elements out of the system to whine about and ignore the fact that those on top have it so, so, so good.

I am in the top 1 percent and I do. those of us in the top 1% making less than five million a year pay the highest effective tax rates in the USA. once people are making 8 figures, then its usually investment income-dividends of course are taxed twice and your calculations don't take into account that stuff taxed at 15% was often taxed at 35% before it even gets to them


this is a good explanation. very few of those in the "top one percent" are actually paying those warren buffett rates

I've generally seen top 1% average effective tax rate as being around 20%, I don't know where they get 24%, but that's pretty close. Is 20% really the worst thing in the world? If you're making over a million a year in income is that communism? socialism? tyranny? You're making over a million to begin with... things seem to have worked out well for you. What about the ultra-wealthy, why not have them pay more, how about 25% instead of 15%? Would that be fair?

if half of america is paying NOTHING and demanding we pay more that is disgusting.

how about people paying for what they use? that is fair in every transaction except government service

is it fair for ten net tax consumers to constantly vote up the rates of one net tax payer?

They do pay though. This is what you guys never get. Capitalism is a system. Here is an example.

Lets say you make 20k a year and pay 0% income tax, free ride right? Well if you work for a company and you are a valuable worker you do more work than you get paid for, surplus. So lets say you do 40k worth of work and get paid 20k, that leaves 20k in surplus for the company. The company takes that money and pays the upper guys, corporate taxes, reinvests in the company, etc. All that extra money, surplus, derived from the worker gets taxed.

What if instead you pay that same worker 30k a year and have them pay 33% income tax and lower tax rates on upper earners, corporations, etc to balance it out? Everybody would end up with the same amount of money, the only difference is the guy making 30k and paying 33% income tax could go on the internet and cry about how its not fair, he pays too much. Yet in the previous example he was a mooch, a drain on society.

You have to look at the whole system... Stop looking at people at the bottom of the barrel and being jealous, lmao. People making poverty wages are not stealing your lunch.

the people stealing are the politicians who appeal to people like you to give them power and wealth. they use our money to buy power with your votes

Ohhhh stop it. I don't want politicians dictating who gets what any more than you do. I would like to see this whole sick, broken system unwinded into something where everyone gets an appropriate amount of power and compensation for what they contribute. I think a lot of people focus way too much on government robbing them when in actuality the private sector is just as bad. In the case of the U.S. I'd say the private sector is far worse. Yes the private sector abuses government to get protection, but pure "free markets" would give us the same result from a different beast. They would find a way to rig the market just as they do with regulations, the government, bribery, etc.

We don't need less government we need better government.
