Yes, Oklahoma Truthers Think Obama Used His Anti-Scandal Weather Magic

Actually the problem is like any forecast it gives trends not hard data. No computer model can tell you what the high will be for April 13, 2016. One fact about 'global warning' is it sets a see saw pattern in motion.

The best example is a pot of water on the stove. As it gets hot and just starts to simmer if you add some cold water, to mimic the ice packs melting, the simmer is stopped. but the stove is still on and soon the simmer starts again and again you add cold water to mimic more of the ice pack melting. Now once you run out of ice pack there is nothing to stop the simmer and then it is up and popping!

So on the planet the hot zone that spawns hurricanes is being hit periodically with an increase of much colder Artic waters. The observable result to the casual observer is 'Where's the global warning?' but to scientists they see that once the ice pack is whittled down to a sliver of it's former size the regulator of the ocean temps will be gone.

So instead of calling it Global Warming the better tag is Climate Change.

That's hilarious. I'm sure you have some scientific sources for this "theory" of yours, right??

I'm wondering how do Alex Jones and these people who don't believe all human activity added together can't effect average climate over many years, believe that Obama can change the weather?
Just having a little self consistency once in a while would have been nice.

The thing that makes it obvious is that they only pull it out of their conspiracy Rolodex when the event is breaking news and popular in the regular people stream and has a devastating effect upon humans in general. Besides that, it is about HAARP, and other so-called weather related events that fit what I said above that they think the government staged. The thing is, if the government has such a device that can create and modify weather to the variables they choose, why wouldn't they be using it to their advantage, like against the drought, and why is its use only perceived as a negative in the mind of some conspiracy theorists? As well, the big question, "Where's the evidence?"

I've been keeping a close watch on these wackos. Though, I'm sure the storm did distract the news media from covering the scandals. I bet they've moved on to "more important things."

It is used to distract the Boston bombing. The IRS scandal; the surveillance on journalist email; are all used to distract Boston bombing case. Obama is a victim of this tactic. Just watch who benefitted from it - the mastermind of Boston bombing. The distraction successfully does its job.

Simple the conspiracy theorists believe that the government is nefarious and only out to get them, even though no one who has been personally affected by these tragedies has come out and accused the government of staging such events. This further proves in their minds that it is all a government conspiracy because all of those actors are "in on it."

You'd think it's a good thing that we can find out what is going on within seconds of natural disasters happening and all, but this conspiracy thinking is a serious consequence to the 24/7 always on news cycle.

But that's not how it really happened, is it? It is called Climate Change because like the word "liberal", the word "Global Warming" was successfully smeared by right wing groups and as usual leftists acquiesced. Once you average over short term temperature trends (over one or a number of years) you'll get an upward temperature trend, hence the name global warming.
Climate Change, while being a correct term to describe this phenomena, carries less information than the more scientifically precise term "global warming".

Yeah but every time there is a late cold snap, a strong cold front during the winter, or fewer than predicted hurricanes the Luddites all cackle 'where is this Global Warming Gore babbled about?'

Course they have to look past the record setting temps during the summer as just one year to dwell on the other... ;)

Here I thought Jason Collins was to blame for it. Maybe we should make a poll, what *really* caused the tornado?

Google the great ocean conveyor belt. :peace

Don't have to. Been familiar with that theory for many years.

I don't think you really understand it based on your flawed interpretation.

IF you are familiar with it you'd know it isn't a theory, the conveyor exists and has been plotted from the arctic circle to the West Coast of Africa, to the Gulf and then up toward England. Several factors influence it, adding more cold fresh water dampens the hurricane generator.

I'm very familiar with the conveyor belt, but it doesn't do what you claim.

No, Climate... changes. always has, always will. This ridiculous notion that man is responsible for changing climate is the biggest scam in history. It's theft on a scale that boggles the mind.
