Report: IRS denied tax-exempt status to pro-lifers on behalf of Planned Parenthood

Re: Report: IRS denied tax-exempt status to pro-lifers on behalf of Planned Parenthoo

You are really good at making assumptions and putting words into people's mouths.

Speak clearly so I can understand you and I won't make assumptions. You first stated that Planned Parenthood was doing Obama's bidding, then you stated that acting in a manner which hurts Republicans and help Democrats can be attributed to Obama. I'm not a mind reader, and I'm done trying to sort through your gobbledegook.

I did... You seem to be the only one who is having a problem comprehending my words.

You first stated that Planned Parenthood was doing Obama's bidding,

No, I never said any such thing.

then you stated that acting in a manner which hurts Republicans and help Democrats can be attributed to Obama.

No, I never stated any such thing.

I can only hope...

Re: Report: IRS denied tax-exempt status to pro-lifers on behalf of Planned Parenthoo

This post is a lie. Planned Parenthood can support whoever they want. It doesn't mean they're doing the bidding of the president.

However, the IRS cannot do what it wants.

It obviously has too much power and that power should be taken away.

Re: Report: IRS denied tax-exempt status to pro-lifers on behalf of Planned Parenthoo

Different subject. Freedom of religion doesn't exempt you from providing insurance plans to non-Catholic employees.

No, but freedom of religions exempts you from providing free abortions to your employees.

How so? You can't force your freedom of religion on others.

Hence, employers can't be forced to provide abortions for their employees.

The employer isn't telling their employees they can't get an abortion, just that the employer isn't going to pay for it.

Perhaps the Catholic Church should not engage in activities that put them in this situation. Otherwise, they have a responsibility to provide health insurance and all that goes with it.

So much for religious freedom.

You can't tell a person, who operates his own business, that he can't apply his religious convictions when running his business. That would be unconstitutional.

If a serviceman has the right to claim a contientious objector status, a business owner has the right to refuse to pay for abortions.

So birth control equals free abortions now?

Apparently you can. If you want to operate a religious institution where you can apply your ideology/convictions, start a church and don't enter the private sector.

So if my religion says that I can beat my employees, that's ok right? After all, you shouldn't limit my freedom of religion according to you.

You're too smart to post something that stupid. C'mon, dude!

Do you understand what the, "private", in private sector means. Right?

According to the religious convictions of some folks, yes it does.

Perhaps not. Explain it to me.

Re: Report: IRS denied tax-exempt status to pro-lifers on behalf of Planned Parenthoo

If I actually need to explain it to you, then there's no point, because there's no way you'll get it.

Does it mean that they can discriminate and deny health care based on their ideology?

Re: Report: IRS denied tax-exempt status to pro-lifers on behalf of Planned Parenthoo

I don't see how they're discriminating, but they can refuse to participate in activities that go against their religious convictions. i.e. birth control/abortions.

Should we allow them to deny health care to homosexuals, as well?

Re: Report: IRS denied tax-exempt status to pro-lifers on behalf of Planned Parenthoo

Should we allow them to deny health care to homosexuals, as well?

That's not consistent with the principles of their religion, so, no.

Re: Report: IRS denied tax-exempt status to pro-lifers on behalf of Planned Parenthoo

Obama needs to come out and blame Bush, saying he inherited the IRS.

Re: Report: IRS denied tax-exempt status to pro-lifers on behalf of Planned Parenthoo

They don't approve of homosexuality, last I checked. My point is that it we allow employers to deny health care to employees on the basis of their ideology, where does it stop?

Re: Report: IRS denied tax-exempt status to pro-lifers on behalf of Planned Parenthoo

Obama = Planned Parenthood.

That's a new one.

What about denying all health care services to homosexuals? A man is bleeding out in my ER, can I just let it happen because he's gay? How about if he's Christian? Can I let him bleed out for being Christian? A woman? Black? A redhead? Albino redhead insurance salesman?

Since when does religion make you exempt from whatever law you feel like dodging?
