Hence, employers can't be forced to provide abortions for their employees.

The employer isn't telling their employees they can't get an abortion, just that the employer isn't going to pay for it.

Perhaps the Catholic Church should not engage in activities that put them in this situation. Otherwise, they have a responsibility to provide health insurance and all that goes with it.

So much for religious freedom.

You can't tell a person, who operates his own business, that he can't apply his religious convictions when running his business. That would be unconstitutional.

If a serviceman has the right to claim a contientious objector status, a business owner has the right to refuse to pay for abortions.

So if my religion says that I can beat my employees, that's ok right? After all, you shouldn't limit my freedom of religion according to you.

I don't see how they're discriminating, but they can refuse to participate in activities that go against their religious convictions. i.e. birth control/abortions.

They don't approve of homosexuality, last I checked. My point is that it we allow employers to deny health care to employees on the basis of their ideology, where does it stop?

What about denying all health care services to homosexuals? A man is bleeding out in my ER, can I just let it happen because he's gay? How about if he's Christian? Can I let him bleed out for being Christian? A woman? Black? A redhead? Albino redhead insurance salesman?

Since when does religion make you exempt from whatever law you feel like dodging?
