White House in damage control mode as potential scandals pile up [W:378]

LOL...THAT is supposed to drive us crazy? A better question is what is Bush doing for the families of the over 3000 dead soldiers that died as a result of his lies and manipulation?

This "weekend" is a mere pittance to a man who has zero respect for our military and who believes that our soldiers are pawns to use in his little neocon games. You should never ask a soldier to die for a lie.

Aw, yes, that lie claim that liberals believe that if they say it over and over enough it will be true. Better take the issue up with the 9/11 commission who disagrees with you but apparently you know more about what happened leading up to 9/11 than they did. Keep showing just how little you know or understand about the economy, basic civics, and the scandals of the Obama Administration

Sorry Conservative....but Bush's legacy speaks for itself. He will always be known as the Herbert Hoover of the 21st Century and for taking his eye of the prize and leaving it to the next administration to get the job done that he couldnt.

It sure does and it will be historians that establish that legacy not you or some other partisan hack who doesn't have the ability to do any basic research or understand basic civics. It continues to amaze me how someone who Democrats called dumb as able to totally destroy the economy all by himself with Democrats in total control of the Congress and with oversight responsibilities.

You have way too much time invested in your hatred for Bush which really is nothing more than a diversion from the Obama record that continues to be ignored.

Yeah some Cried Wolf for the wrong reasons.....but then Back then Obama was running around talking about how All those Obama-icans were joining in with him. Then those on the left were out heralding the News. Weren't they? Until his own remarks and statements gave him away as to where he really stood.

Although some of us knew Right from the start. Moreover I doubt we wrong about him. From the Get go.....a Community Agitator. None of the Democrats can say he didn't tear them up when running for anything in Chicago. He didn't pull them together. There was no reason to believe he would pull a Nation together.

At the very least people could believe him before, especially with all that talk on coming together. Now they know he was always full of s**t and that he was Never a Leader in the First Place.

Course Right now.....he is the one out sewing that wool, that he always had.

you reap what you sow...there's a reason the Right lost credibility from roughly 2006 on through to today. If Obama takes a hit, it still won't vindicate the Right. But, feel free to dream on.

Tell me exactly what a national poll on local Congressional representatives means? You want badly to believe what Obama tells you even though you called him a spinmeister. Didn't realize that the House made up the Congress but again that doesn't surprise me that you have no understanding of basic civics

When a little over 40 GOPers can obstruct legislation in the Senate, it's a GOP congress.

Obama is a spinmeister like all the other presidents. No question about that. The problem I have with the Right is that they cried "Wolf!" from the minute he took office, and they've been wrong about 99% of the time.

You reap what you sew.

Yeah Wolf, when the IRS was doing it his entire 1st term. Yeah, they were right.

Dang, that's one of the most pathetic reaches I've read in quite some time.

Be patient, Ocean. They're doing the best they can under the circumstances.

Greetings to you! :2wave:

Greetings to you! :2wave:

And to you Polgara. :2wave:

I'm getting a bit more nervous about what "best they can under the circumstances" is going to look like. :afraid:

Rewind the clock nine months, and bring all this out in the open then.

I wonder what President Romney would be doing today.

Obama and his minions (including the media) held out long enough, it appears.

But too many cats got out of the bag. Now it's full-on legacy damage control.

We can expect something from left field, if history is to be believed. Other countries are watching this, too, and some are sworn enemies. I just hope that whatever it is doesn't harm too many people, like an attack on our grid that has many scientists extremely concerned, for instance. That chaos would certainly divert everyone's attention to more immediate personal problems, IMO.

Interestingly enough, my new endevour involves manufacturing equipment designed to provide backup power when the grid drops off. You're concern is rational.

Of course, I haven't seen much evidence of willingness to bite the hand that feeds them. Seems to me, shorting out the grid stops the ability to communicate and coordinate. Without marching orders, I think the body wouldn't know what to do.

Good analogy....which is probably in large part why none of this is resonating with the American public.

Yep, most Americans have much better things to do than listen to what today's out of touch GOP has to say about anything.

"Better days are coming." ~ But not for today's out of touch, running out of time, GOP.

IMO, the communicating and coordinating has already long been accomplished, except perhaps for the underlings who we've seen don't matter much to anyone in authority anyway, except for their votes. There is a reason why millions of rounds of ammunition have been stockpiled by this administration, and no one has been told why this was done, to my knowledge, or who is going to have the authority to use said ammunition, but it probably won't be those who have ordered it stockpiled. They don't like guns!

This is why the USA should spend a lot more money on defense against nuclear electromagnetic pulse weapons.

Sticking it to the '47 percent'.

That's one of the main reasons why we don't have a President Romney.

I understand that the non partisan news rarely reaches the left coast but the Obama poll numbers are tanking especially when you balance the sample with equal numbers of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents.

Also, I know this is going to drive people with BDS crazy

George W Bush Hosts Wounded Warrior Weekend at His Texas Ranch | Is it 2012 in Nevada County Yet?

Too bad he never once honored the dead soldiers arriving at Dover. Does he think this will make up for THAT?

President Bush and Vice President Cheney claimed they had repeatedly visited Dover AFB to honor American war dead. Their claim that this was done quietly, with no cameras and no publicity is now proven to have been a total lie.

Neither Bush nor Cheney ever visited Dover. Neither came there, even once in 7 years of war, despite their stories told of tearful experiences that simply never happened.
BUSH AND CHENEY LIED: DOVER AFB VISITS NEVER HAPPENED | Veterans Today
This week, while attacking President Obama for a public visit to Dover to honor war dead, Vice President Cheney’s daughter Liz again repeated the stories President Bush and her father told, now known to be lies.

Anti EMP measures from a nuclear weapon is a bit of overkill.

Whatever your EMPing, you could just nuke.

Plus anti-emp isn't that difficult to accomplish.

Today's historians rank G.W Bush 39th out of 44 (Mighty close to where Nixon come in.), Obama does a lot better - he's #18, a little above the middle.

Does this surprise you?

Absolutely, and without any further delay. An EMP weapon, properly placed, would bring the US to it's knees within a very short period of time.

Not if you only have a few nukes, like North Korea for example.

So that's why NK looks so dark on the night map of the world - lack of electricity shields them from EMP attack!

Obama somehow got more popular after a week of scandals
1 day ago
Mr. President, maybe you should screw up every week. Despite a scandal-plagued seven days featuring Benghazi-gate, the AP surveillance case and that IRS/Tea Party controversy, Barack Obama somehow got more popular. A CNN/ORC International poll conducted over the weekend found that 53 percent of Americans approve of the job the president is doing. That's a bump from the same poll in early April, when only 51 percent gave the commander-in-chief their thumbs-up. America clearly prefers Barry-O when he's messing up.

The house under orders by it's leadership has suspended all legislation to go full time into scandal fishing ...and yet they can not make a dent in the President;s popularity and approval.
All they have accomplished is, as a reaction to their partisan foolishness, the American people have become fed up with this nonsense and sided with the president increasing his approval.

Yeah, you can't damage what isn't there.
