Obama: IRS wrongdoing is ‘outrageous’

Yeah, this all sounds good, though the record of the people he's had around him tells a story of using any crisis to advantage, and any means to achieve a goals. I'll give him credit for at least not trying to sweep this under the rug right off. If he doesn't punish anyone, then we'll know this was pure lip service.

They can subpoena him the same way they can anyone else. He is bound by the same laws as other citizens.

I'm not sure what that has to do with this, but ...

I know for sure that they can not subpoena the President, that one is a given under to seperation of powers. I am pretty sure the VP also falls into that category.

Lets talk about those mouse clicks. The Federal Reserve creates money. That money buys bonds. The Federal Reserve buys the bonds back. Millions are paid in commissions. Nothing is accomplished except assuring a few executives a 50 million dollar bonus.

So, how do you become "the chosen one"? You are (IMHO) one of the "few" who make the calls. So, I think the "very few" theory makes more sense than the vast government conspiracy theory.

I respect that you are an old school manufacturer. You prove that you don't need to be one of my hypothetical "few" to be successful. America is, and always has been, a place of great opportunity. However, the really big money is in money handling and warfare, not in manufacturing. So, my theory holds some water. Also, look at what puppets these Presidents are and out Congresscreeps. Look at the deliberate waste of these bizarre programs they come up with. Look how similarly each administration handles certain things. Now, tell me again there aren't a select few that own us.

As a benevolent employer (and I was the same during my career), you are a vanishing breed. Most large employers are focused on their astounding wealth increase and deny their employees raises unless forced by unions. Don't expect this to change anytime soon.

Perhaps. I've learned over the course of my life that the world is far simpler than it appears. I don't believe in the "owned by the very few" thinking. That would be far to complex an undertaking.

However, IMO, what we are experiencing right now is a period where vast sums of money can be made by moving files from one side of a desk to another. We have companies worth billions that have never turned a profit. We have seen billionaires created whose products are nothing more that bits flowing through fiber optic cables.

I'm an old school manufacturer of products. I turn littles bits and pieces into bigger bits and pieces. I hire and pay good people to help me do that, and the economy of scale allows me to pay them a little bit for each thing they make. That allows them to earn a very good living. The longer they work for me, the more I pay them, because the wisdom they have becomes almost priceless after awhile.

Until we return to this way of thinking, we will continue to struggle. When it only takes a couple mouse clicks to make a million dollars, the income gap will continue to grow.

IRS says current acting commissioner learned in May 2012 that tea party groups were targeted - The Washington Post

WASHINGTON — IRS says current acting commissioner learned in May 2012 that tea party groups were targeted.

And
IRS Office That Targeted Tea Party Also Disclosed Confidential Docs From Conservative Groups - ProPublica

The same IRS office that deliberately targeted conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status in the run-up to the 2012 election released nine pending confidential applications of conservative groups to ProPublica late last year.

The IRS did not respond to requests Monday following up about that release, and whether it had determined how the applications were sent to ProPublica.

In response to a request for the applications for 67 different nonprofits last November, the Cincinnati office of the IRS sent ProPublica applications or documentation for 31 groups. Nine of those applications had not yet been approved—meaning they were not supposed to be made public. (We made six of those public, after redacting their financial information, deeming that they were newsworthy.)
.....
“It has come to our attention that you are in receipt of application materials of organizations that have not been recognized by the IRS as tax-exempt,” wrote one spokeswoman, Michelle Eldridge. She cited a law saying that publishing unauthorized returns or return information was a felony punishable by a fine of up to $5,000 and imprisonment of up to five years, or both.

So you can add releasing of conservative groups tax filing paperwork to the list of screwups at the IRS.

Why did it take a full year for them to release this info? Um, duh, same reason they changed the Benghazi talking points: it would negatively affect the President's re-election.
