Benghazi: State Department's ARB Panel Is Under Formal Investigation

I can agree that waiting for more facts is sensible. I'm waiting for Wednesday, when the name of at least one person will be made known.

Yes, and the Clinton's murdered Vince Foster. Obama is the Manchurian candidate.

This story has already exceeded its allotted 15 minutes. Isn't there a section called Conspiracy Theories where persons of such proclivities can exhaust themselves debating such nonsense?

That all said, I for one, appreciate the frustration on Con brethren must feel dealing with the most scandal free administration since Bush I or Carter. They are forced to create these things just to entertain themselves. You spend enough time in the most sincere pumpkin patch and you are bound to see the Great Pumpkin eventually (if you don't freeze to death first).

Yeah yeah yeah, ever hear of Fast and Furious? Not the movie but the gun walking debacle? Or the decision to spike the New Black Panthers voter intimidation case? The Shovel Ready ...or sorry, not so Shovel Ready President's transparency is about as see through as an ivy covered brick wall.

Benghazi will end up taking him and Hillary down, a two-fer. And justifiably so. Nobody died in Watergate...but bet many who were on the side of Nixon were saying that lil ol bungled burglary was way past its 15 minutes as well.

What they, Barry and Hillary, did there is atrocious, downright despicable... along with the cover up and deceit since then... impeachable.

Funny how those things turn out.

Yummy, pumpkin pie... Great Pumpkin Pie.

Their biggest mistake here, outside the the obvious nonchalant attitude concerning Americans whom were under attack by AQ at the most inconvenient of times, an election, the ensuing cover up of their inaction brings up many questions of documents, whom was told what, and testimony to congress.

Both Hillary, and Obama in one way or another could be criminally liable in this matter, and this not only would lead to impeachment of Obama, but destroy any dream of Hillary running in '16. Libs can't let this happen so they are pulling out all the stops from their usual playbook.

It might work. With the weak assed leadership in our side, calls for the necessary select committees, and such may be denied by our own crier of the house....

I hope it isn't so, but can't rule it out.

CNS??? Seriously???

Stay away from these political porn sites (websites that exist only to help you get it up and keep it up - you know, your blood pressure) and get your news from a real news source. I'm sure you can find a support group to wean you of this unsavory habit.

Get back to us when you actually are dealing with objective information.

Don't forget those things called references which usually gives a link straight to whatever news source has it.....most come with Sites that are about giving out the news.

Hiya NB :2wave: .....well at least the FBI did manage to get some material out there even before Wed.

FBI releases photos of three men from Benghazi attack site

The FBI on Thursday released the photographs of three men it said were at the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, when it was attacked last September

FBI releases photos of three men from Benghazi attack site

Course, then 2 days ago they found out AQ had paid us a lil visit.

Sources: 3 al Qaeda operatives took part in Benghazi attack

Several Yemeni men belonging to al Qaeda took part in the terrorist attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi last September, according to several sources who have spoken with CNN.

One senior U.S. law enforcement official told CNN that "three or four members of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula," or AQAP, took part in the attack.

Another source briefed on the Benghazi investigation said Western intelligence services suspect the men may have been sent by the group specifically to carry out the attack. But it's not been ruled out that they were already in the city and participated as the opportunity arose.....snip~

Looks like things are about to get very Real for Team Obama. After all that talking about Denials and whatnot from Team Obama.....it really is looking like not only did Team Obama Drop the Ball over Benghazi. But over the 911 Anniversary.

Myself.....I do think that if Obama wouldn't have been so desperate at that time with the Election in Sept of last year, and wouldn't have been out partying. That he would have had some better vision. He might not have been able to save anyone. But then again he could have had more on alert, rather than waiting until after the fact.

well, it was, after all...

Carney: 'Benghazi Happened a Long Time Ago' | The Weekly Standard

we'll have to wait and see what the clients of ms toensing and her husband joe digeniva have to say under whistle blower protection in evil darrel issa's comfy committee

why did the original cia advisory contain so much informative language, meant for the public, about al qaeda, ansar al sharia and jihad, all ultimately removed by victoria newland, press spokesperson at state?

stay tuned

and why was the nyt so casually, so amicably able, to interview mr khattala, ansar al sharia militia man and "suspected mastermind," right out in the open in that crowded luxury hotel in banghazi in october?

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/19/w...-attack-scoffs-at-us.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

the gray lady can get there but the g-men can't?

is mr khattala one of those grainy guys on the fbi's barney fife-like posters?

questions, questions, questions...

enjoy the hearings, homeys

Yeah, this has been staring in their face all along and Hillary knows Ansar Al Sharia provides security for that Part of Libya.

Witnesses and the authorities have called Ahmed Abu Khattala one of the ringleaders of the Sept. 11 attack on the American diplomatic mission here. But just days after President Obama reasserted his vow to bring those responsible to justice, Mr. Abu Khattala spent two leisurely hours on Thursday evening at a crowded luxury hotel, sipping a strawberry frappe on a patio and scoffing at the threats coming from the American and Libyan governments.

few, like the militia group Ansar al-Shariah that is linked to Mr. Abu Khattala and that officials in Washington and Tripoli agree was behind the attack, have embraced an extremist ideology hostile to the West and nursed ambitions to extend it over Libya. But also troubling to the United States is the evident tolerance shown by other militias allied with the government, which have so far declined to take any action against suspects in the Benghazi attack.

Although Mr. Abu Khattala said he was not a member of Al Qaeda, he declared he would be proud to be associated with Al Qaeda’s puritanical zeal for Islamic law. And he said that the United States had its own foreign policy to blame for the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. “Why is the United States always trying to impose its ideology on everyone else?” he asked. “Why is it always trying to use force to implement its agendas?”

Although Mr. Abu Khattala’s exact role remains unclear, witnesses have said they saw him directing other fighters that night. Libyan officials have singled him out, and officials in Washington say they are examining his role.

Witnesses, Benghazi residents and Western news reports, including those in The New York Times, have described Mr. Abu Khattala as a leader of Ansar al-Shariah, whose trucks and fighters were seen attacking the mission. Mr. Abu Khattala praised the group’s members as “good people with good goals, which are trying to implement Islamic law,” and he insisted their network of popular support was vastly underestimated by other brigade leaders who said the group had fewer than 200 fighters.

“It is bigger than a brigade,” he said. “It is a movement.”

Mr. Abu Khattala said he was close to the group but was not an official part of it. Instead, he said, he was still the commander of an Islamist brigade, Abu Obaida ibn al-Jarrah. Some of its members joined Ansar al-Shariah, but Mr. Abu Khattala said that even though his brigade had disbanded he could still call it together. “If the individuals are there, the brigade is there,” he said.....snip~

Yeah Prof.....I have been sitting on this for quite some time. Had it from some other New Sources. Course I knew the Left would cry about the Source. Until I found the NY Times link. Which you now have here. So much for no AQ presence? So much for not knowing where one of the Attackers was all along.....huh?

See Obama and his Team thought they could Muddy the waters so to speak. Hide behind terminology. Move goal-posts and deflect with anything they can. They have been hoping all along the news cycle would push this All under the rug.

That they could just get out of it with charges of Negligence and Incompetency. Managerial Failures.

I think it is funny that Team Obama and the Democrats aren't smiling anymore when the name Benghazi pops up.....Note: Obama did lose that **** eating grin 2 days ago. Do you think they can see the writing on the Wall, yet?

Totally agree with you, Nixon did not, fortunately, have the media on his side protecting him.

Obama and Hillary do, but we have the internet, we have Fox [ tho I am not an overly huge fan ] and conservative talk radio out here... the facts cannot be covered up as we demand, and should keep demanding of our elected representatives, that we get to the bottom of this sordid debacle in Benghazi and the continued coverup, apparently with threats against whistle-blowers, after. It will get real dirty though, as it is two of the left's three most cherished icons being justly trampled here, and they sure do not like their sacred oxen being gored.

Yeah, ...
This sordid affair is ensnaring a bunch of officials & spokespeople at State as well as in Intelligence ... not to mention Hillary and her boss ... as it should.

You know it's getting warm when they trot out stuff like "So far I don't see it" or "There's nothing new here" or the now infamous "Happened a long time ago" & "What difference does it make"

And your comment about waiting for a source from something like the NYT is very familiar ... I do the same thing.

Finally ... your comment that "They have been hoping all along the news cycle would push this All under the rug." recalls a couple of posts from December 2012 & January 2013

Inspector General Planned To Investigate Accountability Review Board's Work In October 2012, Before The Board's Independent Review Concluded. A November 1 blog post by Josh Rogin, a national security reporter for Foreign Policy's The Cable, reported on a letter from the State Department's Inspector General's office -- dated October 26, 2012 -- that announced plans to investigate the Benghazi Accountability Review Board report. The letter also stated that the Inspector General's office regularly reviews State Department security procedures, and specifically mentioned an Accountability Review Board report from a December 2004 terrorist attack on a different diplomatic facility. From the letter:

The scope of our work for our office of Inspection (ISP) in the year ahead includes plans to inspect the Bureau of Intelligence and Research this winter and will be attentive to how credible threat information is coordinated within the Department and expeditiously shared with overseas diplomatic missions. Inspectors will monitor the implementation of any recommendations from the Benghazi Accountability Review Board (ARB) report and will review them as future inspections are conducted. Right-Wing Media Dishonestly Link Routine Investigation To Benghazi "Whistleblowers" | Research | Media Matters for America

ooops
look at the date
were their any whistleblowers then?

your side better not wait for the IG report because that will lead nowhere
if the republican congressmen actually believe the whistleblowers have information which will conflict with the official report, then they need to subpoena those civil servants, give them immunity for their testimony, and conduct a public hearing

but none of that will happen
because the republican congressmen know they have nothing to expose

Heya Bubba.

Looks like the Team Obama has to many LOOPHOLES left laying around. I think they always knew they couldn't account for anything that came from overseas. That they could deflect away. But see the FBI has known all along about this guy here. Yet they could not interview him. As it was to dangerous to travel to that part of Libya.....remember.

Also there is more my brutha.....they also know who was in Egypt and was released from Prison before Mubarak was taken down. Just as they know the Name of that Sunni Cleric in Egypt.....who said he saw the Anti Mulim Video. Then called on his fellow Egyptians to riot our Embassy in Egypt. Then going onto social media and calling for All Muslims to rise up and Protest the US. The response was 23 Muslim Countries rose up against us.....all On Obama's Watch and the Anniversary of 911.

So we can see it was all about trying to wipe the egg of their faces for getting caught with their pants down. Now they just don't want to face any consequences for their Screw-ups.

See if a soldier was on Guard duty at his post.....then decided to go and take a break, cuz of a valid reason say like taking a piss. If something then happens while he has left his post. He would be hooked up for Dereliction of Duty. Failing to maintain his post. For Failing to follow orders and Misconduct.

Moreover we have recently had TOP Flag Officers removed from Duty for Inappropriate Judgment Command.....this is a term that should be thrown around so that Obama and his Team hears it constantly. Already the Democrats are lining up with their defense of.....Lets not Politicize this. As they now know they cannot cover Hillary nor Obama, nor Panetta and General Ham's Azz!

Here are the names of whistleblowers: BENGHAZI: Names of

And I hope that some of the survivors will also come forward.

On the night of the Benghazi terror attack, special operations put out multiple calls for all available military and other assets to be moved into position to help -- but the State Department and White House never gave the military permission to cross into Libya, sources told Fox News.

The disconnect was one example of what sources described as a communication breakdown that left those on the ground without outside help.

Multiple sources spoke to Fox News about what they described as a lack of action in Benghazi on Sept. 11 last year, when four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, were killed.

"They had no plan. They had no contingency plan for if this happens, and that's the problem this is going to face in the future," one source said. "They're dealing with more hostile regions, hostile countries. This attack's going to happen again."

Sources said that shortly after the attack began around 9:40 p.m., special forces put out the calls for assets to be moved into position.

"What that does is that enacts ... every asset, every element to respond and it becomes a global priority," one source said. "I would tell you that was given and the only reason it was given is because of special operations pack."

However, the source said, "Assets did not move."

The failure of the State Department or White House to give the military permission to go into Libya, according to the source, only accentuates the significant breakdown in communication among the State Department, military, CIA and White House.

The State Department Accountability Review Board, which investigated the attack and what led up to it, also claimed that "Washington-Tripoli-Benghazi communication, cooperation, and coordination on the night of the attacks were effective."

But one source told Fox News there was "not good communication" between State and Defense "on any level."

Special ops called for military backup during Libya attack, sources say | Fox News

panetta testified before armed services in february: we didn't go because "the attack ended before we could get off the ground"

why didn't arb interview hillary clinton?

why was the nyt so easily able to interview mr khattala right out in the open in october?

why is the administration keeping the benghazi survivors hidden and their injuries secret?

why did the press spokesperson at foggy bottom (the state dept) scrub the words "islamic extremists with ties to al qaeda," "ansar al sharia" and "jihadists" out of the talking points the cia prepared for the american public?

where was secretary of state hillary clinton on 9-11-12 and what exactly was she doing all day and nite?

I know what the creator of this meme is trying to say. Unfortunately, he's very misinformed.

Kwanzaa is not celebrated in Africa, it was created by blacks in America to connect to their heritage. Kwanzaa is more or less St. Patrick's Day.

Good to see you are finally admitting that Obama's an American. Though I'm sure you didn't think you were.

this makes no sense:
you have listed the purported whistleblowers
The lawyers said their clients believe their accounts of Benghazi were spurned by the Accountability Review board (ARB), ...
but the article goes on to state
“There were people who were material witnesses, who wanted to talk to [the ARB], and they were not allowed to talk to them.
so, who are we going to hear from, those named 'whistleblowers' who believe their accounts to the review board were not adequately considered or those who were not allowed to present to the review board
please clear this up, as you have presented a list but there are supposedly more folks who want to testify but did not get the chance. why are the republicans not giving them the chance to testify
in the absence of a rational response i can only conclude that those who did not have the opportunity to testify have nothing to offer, as evidenced by the republicans' failure to include them in the forthcoming hearings
and that those who did testify and now hold themselves out as whistleblowers are disgruntled employees who resent their testimonies being found under-represented in the final review report
hopefully, the republicans will conduct hearings which will show us
1. the testimony of the 'whistleblowers' which was found to be inadequately shared in the review; and
2. how those 'whistleblowers' careers have been adversely affected by their willingness to come forward with their testimony, causing them to legitimately be found 'whistleblowers'

I am not willing to conclude anything. There aren't enough facts yet. I posted the link because I also didn't know any whistleblower names but now do. Why is this a problem for you? Did you already know who these people are? Do you know the names of survivors and what they have to say?

Surely, you're as interested in learning all the facts as I am. After going far beyond the requirements of his job description, Ty Woods died alone on a rooftop waiting for help that never came. I still want to know why and am willing to wait patiently as facts continue to emerge.

Again, you have an active imagination. I am sorry you fail to see the distinction between Watergate and Benghazzi. One was a crime of deliberation; the other an unfortunate event in a troubled part of the world.

I appreciate the fact that you don't like Obama and you are searching, searching for something that can end your nightmare. Now, if Hillary can't get the deficits under control, you might have a shot in 2020.

Funny how those things turn out.

Yummy, pumpkin pie... Great Pumpkin Pie.

Funny how powerful wishful thinking can be. I hope you brought your security blanket to the pumpkin patch. It still gets cold at night this time of the year.

Again, you have an active imagination. I am sorry you fail to see the distinction between Watergate and Benghazzi. One was a crime of deliberation; the other an unfortunate event in a troubled part of the world.

No, one was a cheesy, second-rate domestic burglary while one was the first murder in 33 years of an American ambassador and three other Americans.

Thank you for proving my point... ya got nothin except stuff that your active imagination has run with. You are sitting in the most sincere pumpkin patch.

Have never even heard of Fast and Furious I see. Didn't know a thing about the NBPs spiked case either, huh? Hey, you obviously have the internet, educate yourself, especially if you want to be on a debate forum... gotta either already know something ... or be willing to do the research, all this other fluff you are throwing out shows a distinct slothfulness on your part. Do you want people reading your empty posts and elbowing others, guess what they are saying about them...

Again, you have an active imagination. I am sorry you fail to see the distinction between Watergate and Benghazzi. One was a crime of deliberation; the other an unfortunate event in a troubled part of the world.

Unfortunately for you and your manifest lack of knowledge/information, I teach this stuff. I know of what I speak.

One can tell, once again, that you have no real notion of Watergate nor Benghazi. Nixon did not order the bungled break in of the DNC headquarters at the Watergate complex... he attempted, after the fact, to cover it up. That is where he got into trouble. And a reminder, nobody died in the Watergate Scandal.

Right about now, if you knew anything about Benghazi, you would be saying..."ahhh...now I see...". But I am confident that epiphany still eludes, would require you know a little about Benghazi, you have not convinced me yet you know even one thing about it, not even how to properly spell Benghazi... so do a little study and maybe in a couple of weeks after you have poured over the details we can have a proper conversation about it.

I appreciate the fact that you don't like Obama and you are searching, searching for something that can end your nightmare. Now, if Hillary can't get the deficits under control, you might have a shot in 2020.

I don't appreciate the fact that I don't like Obama, I tried to give the incompetent ideological boob a chance. When he made the right move on the pirates of Somalia, the decent work with regards to drone attacks on A-Q, I will even give him a bit of credit on bin Laden hit. But he has messed up so much, been so feeble in leading-from-behind doctrine, so lost in the world when we need someone who actually knows something, has a core...

Give it up dude, lol, Hillary is sunk, Obama will probably get impeached ...and thrown out... nobody can defend what he and she did not do prior and what they covered up after Benghazi. Done deal.

Funny how powerful wishful thinking can be. I hope you brought your security blanket to the pumpkin patch. It still gets cold at night this time of the year.
Look out here, not in the mirror so much. Talk to me, not yourself. Projection is a liberal's constant companion, that security blanket that you speak of.

B...B...B....Ben----ghazi!!!!
:sword:

Again, settle down, it was all caused by a movie...the guy's in jail. Relax.

I'm absolutely confident that the creator knew exactly what he was saying.
Obama was sweeping the Benghazi mess under the rug as part of his Kwanzaa Kleanup.
And he's still trying. Likewise Hillary.

The old Procol Harum song can be seen as an apt metaphor for this whole Obama centric mess ...

And, BTW, Kwanzaa begins the end of December.
I don't know where you got St. Patrick's Day.
And Hillary is desperate to keep this thing on the down-low too...for obvious reasons.
(You may or may not apply the sexual connotation to that experssion ... your choice)

The whole Kwanzaa thing is a bit of concentrating on his race, don't you think? It wouldn't make any sense with a white guy.

No, one was a cheesy, second-rate domestic burglary while one was the first murder in 33 years of an American ambassador and three other Americans.

But don't forget the most important distinction of them all: Nixon was a Republican and Obama's a Democrat. That's what it's really about.

That's why it makes sense, Obama's not white.
