Drug Agency Lowers Age For Next-Day Birth Control [W:297]

I never said it caused PMS, can you read? I said that constant changes in hormonal balance cause physical and mental changes in women. PMS is already one of those things..

Plan B is not used "constantly"

And what does that mean, 'what' is a reason it wont be taken regularly?

I already explained, but here it is again. Read it slowly

The price, and the fact that it doesn't work if used regularly

As for long term....just how long has it been around? Any woman ever on the Pill will tell you it affects her hormonal balance and can prevent pregnancy in the future. Keep messing with that balance....of course it can affect you if abused.

Plan B is not The Pill. It's not the same so I don't know why you're comparing the two

There is no evidence that Plan B has any serious side effect and does not affect a womans fertility

You're the one who brought up the possibility of overdosing

And you're the one who is suggesting that girls will take more than one pill.

And I addressed the specific hormones issue, but I'll spell it out for you this time. Read this slowly

There is no evidence that Plan B has any serious effect on a womans fertility

*sigh*

An 'overdose' is a dangerous amount of a substance in someone's system that can harm someone.

"Overuse" is something that causes damage over time.

And sure, they might go and take it regularly and since you keep parroting the same thing and not recognizing anything about female physiology, then I wont repeat it again. If it's beyond you, I'll accept that. Just because you didn't "read' of that 'evidence' doesn't mean that frequent hormonal imbalances don't affect female fertility.

The "government" wouldn't know unless your child told them. Wouldn't that be your child taking action against you?..................

my child cannot take legal action against me, meaning force of law.

can under the ruling, are children guarantee the purchase of the drug over the rights of the parents?

government job is to protect, rights and the life's of people, the child does not have a right to purchase because i have parental rights over the minor, and government is not to interfere with my parental rights, or advocate for things which could be harmful to minors.

Minors have the right to purchase things and always have

You just support collectivism and govt power when it suits you.

the child is minor not an adult, my parental rights, have authority in this situation.

several years back, a child went to school, and the parents were unaware the child was pregnant.

the school during school hours send the child to a clinic for an abortion.

the parents found out about it, and complained to the school , which the school replied they have authority to do what they will with the child while at school.

again.......if my child wishes to purchase the drug, without my approval, but i use my parental rights to stop my child, can the government take action against me ....if my child reports it to the police? ...........please answer this question.

You still haven't explained what you're going to do to prevent your child from purchasing Plan B. Tell me what you would actually do, and I'll tell you what how the govt might respond

I guess as a voluntary parent, you'll just have to deal with the ramifications of a role you took upon yourself. I'm not part of your "village" support system.....................

"Overuse" is something that causes damage over time.

Plan B is not used "constantly" or "frequently", etc so that is not a concern

There is no evidence to support your claim that Plan B will be used frequently by 15 year old girls.

The ruling says a vendor can not refuse to sell Plan B to a child

Such ignorance. Both the Pill and Plan B work by changing and regulating a woman's hormones. I can try to write it at a kindergarten level if necessary.

And if a girl has sex regularly, then she has the ability to use Plan B regularly. Cost is a non-issue...if kids can find $$ for drugs and other contraceptives and everything else, they can find $ for Plan B. And 'regular' use can cause 'constant' and unnatural changes in a woman's hormones. Too many unnatural swings can and do affect a woman's fertility. Any fertility doctor can tell you that.

There is no evidence to support your claim that Plan B will be used frequently by 15 year old girls.

ROFLMAO

And there we have it.

Thank you. There's no evidence to support they wont either, LOL.

Minors have the right to purchase things and always have

You just support collectivism and govt power when it suits you.

really?...... again, shall my child purchase a pistol?

when children grow up and are out from under their parents, they have rights to purchase, i can deny my children any purchase, without the law knocking on my door.

You still haven't explained what you're going to do to prevent your child from purchasing Plan B. Tell me what you would actually do, and I'll tell you what how the govt might respond

here it is in a nutshell, suppose i stop my child from purchasing the drug, and my child informs her school, and they call the police, or she informs the police, should government be able to take action against me, over my paternal rights of a minor?

SO what?

There is no evidence that Plan B has any effect on a womans fertility. If you have any evidence that this is not true, then post it.

Until then, all you've got is nonsensical speculation

Wrong

Plan B is expensive, and if a 15 yo has the money to buy it regularly, then there are other issues with the job the parents are doing. In addition, Plan B doesn't work if taken frequently, so there's no reason to use it regularly

And again, there is no evidence that Plan B can affect a woman's fertility. If you have evidence to the contrary, please post it.

I think that problem would be termed "a very stupid girl"..........................

Thank you. There's no evidence to support they wont either, LOL.

There is much evidence that they won't

The cost, the fact that it doesn't work if used frequently, and the fact that in places where Plan B is available to teens, there is no evidence of abuse

really?...... again, shall my child purchase a pistol?

when children grow up and are out from under their parents, they have rights to purchase, i can deny my children any purchase, without the law knocking on my door.

No you can't stop your child from buying something, if they have the money

You can refuse all you want

The child can still purchase it

The drug is not used on a long-term basis so it's safe to say that there are not effects from a use that is not actually occurring.

What if a child has a reaction to the hormones, and the parent doesn't know what to do because they are unaware that the child has taken the morning after pill? How could you possibly make assurances that these pills would not be abused by promiscuous minors? Hormones in such HIGH dosages can be very harmful.

Please post medical evidence, not religious nonsense

It is all referenced to medical links. You could not have POSSIBLY checked that out in such a short period of time.

No you can't stop your child from buying something, if they have the money

really?.......shall i send my 15 yr old down to the store for liquor, condoms, a playboy?

so your saying my child overrules my parental rights and is free to take any drug she wishes that the FDA , says is OK and whatever age they set.

You still haven't explained what you're going to do to prevent your child from purchasing Plan B. Tell me what you would actually do, and I'll tell you what how the govt might respond

that does not matter, lets say i have already stopped her, and she tells the police, ...should they be knocking on my door?

No, it's just a nonsense abortion banner website that claims that abortion causes breast cancer :screwy:

really?.......shall i send my 15 yr old down to the store for liquor, condoms, a playboy?

What will you do to stop your child from purchasing those?

that does not matter, lets say i have already stopped her, and she tells the police, ...should they be knocking on my door?

Of course it matters. If you do this by shooting your child in the head, you're gonna have some 'splaining to do

No, it's just a nonsense abortion banner website that claims that abortion causes breast cancer :screwy:

It does not, and there are links to JAMA. Are they a religious website too? Doubtful.

This here:

During a panel discussion at the National Press Club's Newsmaker Forum, Kirsten Moore, president and CEO of the Reproductive Health Technologies Project, admitted that the morning-after pill does not reduce pregnancies and abortions as originally touted. "The experts had estimated that we would see a drop by up to half in the rates of unintended pregnancies and the rates of abortion," she said. "In fact, in the real world, we're not seeing that."

True according to JAMA.

so are you saying that because the government lowers the age to a minor, then as a parent, i can be in violation of the law, because i refuse for my child to purchase the drug?

No. I'm saying your struggle to be a parent is your struggle to be a parent. Stop trying to get everyone in on your personal lifestyle choices..............................

Plenty of evidence exists that altering women's hormones affects fertility. Again...check with any fertility doctor. And there's plenty of data on how the Pill affects a woman's fertility for yrs when she goes off it and wants to get pregnant. And that is when it is used properly.

So your claim of Plan B, incorrectly used, not affecting fertility is baseless. The evidence already exists.
