I don't know why you're asking me that but I've been there twice for a total of 5 weeks, mainly the UK and Italy. I thought I was clear that I wasn't criticizing Europe; I was criticizing some Americans perception of Europe.
It really says a lot about you that you chose to answer the second question, and not the first.
So MPG,how the eff do you know what's on the minds of your fellow Americans, hmmm?
It was a simple request, (i'e. provide a link that backs up your statement),and you deliberately ignored it.
Do you have the ability to read other peoples minds?
Are you using a crystal ball or reading tea leaves?
Or are you one of those people who actually are conceited enough to think their opinions or beliefs ultimately matters to the Universe at whole?
Here we had an opportunity for people here (and that includes you) to condemn those that commit a crime (rioting)and commit violence, (rioting) and quite a lot of the Anti-SSM crowd just refused to do so. Why don't those that read this go through this thread and count how many people either dismiss what happened in France,or tried to justify it.Go one, count how many of them have come out and said ",the Anti-SSM crowd in France was wrong for rioting".
Mark my words, what happened in France is only the Harbinger of things to come.
And it is going to come here to America sooner than anyone thinks/
One only has to comb through the archives here at the other SSM threads to see what the uber religious, the Social Conservatives, and the psuedo-libertarians have planned for our country once SSM becomes legal nation wide.
See how many of them are actually fanning the flames here on DebatePolitics.
The numbers may shock you.
Somehow, despite what Jesus himself may feel about homosexuality,I think he would have at least had the guts to say "rioting was wrong of them".
But then again, there maybe many here who SAY they are Christian, but quite a number of people here aren't quite as good at BEING Christian as they like to think they are.
