White House: Boston suspect will not be treated as combatant

The Obama Regime can't afford--politically--to be forced to admit that the war on terror is over and that Islamic extremists really are a threat to our security and our liberty.

Good evening, apdst. :2wave:

Why can't they admit what is obvious to all? Terrorists are the only ones who benefit from this!

I personally don't believe anyone should be labeled as an "enemy combatant" and indefinitely detained. It goes against the way we do things. We have given trials to a lot of evil people in our history...we shouldn't allow the actions of one to change the way we handle issues. Nobody should EVER be indefinitely detained under our government.

Which ones do you mean?

It's because they hate America as much as the terrorists do.

Maybe the administration is going easy on him for personal reasons. Maybe Obama thinks he could be his son, like he does Trayvon...

Which ones do you mean?

You mean people we've put on trial?

Timothy McVeigh, Charles Manson, Suleiman Abu Ghaith, James and John McNamara, Ted Kaczynski, Eric Rudolph, Wade Page, Leon Czolgosz, etc...

So, none of them were foreigners, with possible connections to international terrorist networks?

We should take the same attitude as FDR and Churchill, when it came time to decide what to do about all the former Nazis...just execute them.

There seems to be a frantic push from the far left to make these brothers out to be some home grown nut jobs, that are not tied to international terror groups, despite the info that is already out there....

The questioning under the "public safety" exception that was agreed to by the administration, was rushed by Holder to take away as soon as damning information started coming out....Imagine that....

i can tell you that the sunday shows were pretty heavy this morning, all day, from cnn to abc to nbc, pretty somber, even depressed...

the emerging awareness that these bombing brothers from boston are connected to terrorist elements overseas...

in addition to the trail in russia, dutch ruppersberger from dark blue maryland told george stephy on abc's this week, "there are persons of interest in the us"

"phone calls before and after the bombing"

but "the real test is in russia," concluded the ranking member of house intel

House Intel leaders: Domestic suspects of interest in Boston bombing - POLITICO.com

that's the ranking voice of the pelosi caucus on these questions, this morning

just a downer, all day

when it comes to the unavoidable, inevitable issue of terrorism---jihad---it is hard to deny that our president plays ostrich

from blaming a video in libya to seeing workplace violence at ford hood

and now this rush to conclude that the brothers tsarnaev acted alone

on fns, dem senator manchin from WV, author of the weak gun bill which almost passed, offered that he believed the doj acted too soon in mirandizing the suspect

Senator Joe Manchin, a West Virginia Democrat, said on the Fox program the agencies questioning Dzhokar “pulled the trigger too soon” on letting him invoke his right to an attorney.

“I think there’s more to be had there,” Manchin said. “But I would have liked that process of him of being interrogated to go further than reading Miranda rights as quick as they did.”

Former CIA Director Michael Hayden said on CNN’s “Fareed Zakaria GPS” broadcast that he was surprised Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was read his rights “so quickly,” and “the people doing the interrogation were surprised as well.”

Representative Peter King, a New York Republican on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” criticized the FBI for not having interviewed Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s mosque and imam after being alerted by the Russians. He also said it was an “absolute failure” that the FBI didn’t notify New York sooner that the bombers had considered an attack in New York City.

King repeatedly called for authorities to more closely track the Muslim community. “The element is from within the Muslim community,” he said.

That's OK, the liberals in Boston will be glad to tell conservatives to pay for it.

It's only fair, we're the ones building all the roads and schools in your precious independent red states.

look forward to lengthy hearings

U.S. intelligence agencies failed to share information about Tamerlan Tsarnaev, accused in the fatal bombing of the Boston Marathon, including his trip to Russia, the head of the House Homeland Security Committee said.

Representative Mike McCaul, a Texas Republican, said he wanted to know why agencies given a lead from Russian intelligence, including the Department of Homeland Security, didn’t coordinate when Tsarnaev traveled to Russia last year.

“CIA gets this information, the CIA’s got it, FBI’s got it, then DHS has it. The FBI puts up a flag so does DHS, the FBI flag does not go up when he travels to Russia, so they don’t know that he went to Russia,” McCaul said today on the “Fox News Sunday” broadcast. “When he comes back from Russia he is clearly radicalized.”

bloomberg above

and the president can't pronounce jihad, can't contemplate muslim terrorism

the magnitude of the issue, the scale of the questions, makes the president's position unsustainable, even critical

a very heavy sunday
