The Senate has defeated a compromise proposal to expand background checks...[W: 349]

Re: The Senate has defeated a compromise proposal to expand background checks on fire

Wow....paranoia. Take a deep breath.

No, it's called learning from history. We have countries today where guns are banned where the gun haters were doing the exact same crap you are doing right now years ago.

Re: The Senate has defeated a compromise proposal to expand background checks on fire

Government only ever gets more powerful. There is a reason for that.

Wow dude...you are sounding severely paranoid. Do you belong to one of those militia movement groups?

Re: The Senate has defeated a compromise proposal to expand background checks on fire

you don't help your stealth campaign at all by denying the obvious

nice ploy but it doesn't wor

your leftwing masters like DIFI and Chuckie have revealed their hands

gun bans, confiscation, punitive taxes, expensive registration requirements have all been supported

and yet you bleat that its not true and all your lords and overlords want is mere waiting periods

ignorance of history is not sound

Take a breath. No one is talking about confiscation. Relax. Not everything in life is a slippery slope. Are you one of those that think that smoking a joint leads to heroin addiction too?

You can think it sounds like whatever you want, but its called understanding history and human nature.

How many freedoms are you willing to give up for security?

stop lying and stop with your ignorant and silly patronizing. Cuomo admitted CONFISCATION WAS ON THE TABLE. DIF admitted in 95 if she had the votes she would have pushed for CONFISCATION OF ALL THE WEAPONS banned by the AWB. FLORIO ordered CONFISCATION of guns that had been registered but later BANNED by the NJ AWB

why do you continually lie about history?

Asking a liberal about limits, are we? I have tried that before, but they never seem to have an answer.

left wingers engage in what I call the LORD FARQUAAD sacrifice (Many of YOU may die [to find the little lord a woman] but that is a price I AM WILLING TO PAY)

Leftwingers have no problem pissing away the rights they don't care about as long as that harasses those they don't agree with

Well, it is always an interesting question to ask of our progs...

Riiiiiiight. Because our history is full of incidences where our government has come into your home to grab your guns and bibles. Okie dokie.

Re: The Senate has defeated a compromise proposal to expand background checks on fire

Sorry...but I'm not the one running around screaming propoganda about "OMG....they're coming to take our guns!!!!!" and hysterics such as "OMG!...they are going to make us all criminals"

You're the guy claiming law abiding Americans who purchase semi automatic weapons with cosmetic adjustments are "highly suspect"

Nothing more needs to be said

What "Freedom" are you asking me to give up? Freedom to be free of a background check? Wow......next thing you know, we might have to go through a metal detector at the airport.

Don't tell me you think this government is somehow different than any other? :lamo Human nature still exists and they're still the governing body over the people. The same factors are still in play.

You guys love your security and they damn well love the power it gives them.

I said the mentality of a person who would want to own such a weapon is questionable. Yes.

You have been listening too much to your militia buddies who think that the scary government is out to get them.

Re: The Senate has defeated a compromise proposal to expand background checks on fire

No right is absolute. The Constitution just places stronger limitations of curtailment of any right that is fundamental.
What I said was simple, an inherent right is stronger than a civil right granted by law. Absolute? Maybe not; but our right to keep and bear arms is as absolute as any right can be in the US. I absolutely will not give up my firearms peacefully.

And how often has it occurred? Do you really believe that smoking one joint leads to heroin addiction? Not everything in life is a slippery slope.

I'm not asking you to give up anything, but any restriction in place is a de facto loss of freedom. My question was as to how many you're willing to live with and where would you place the limits of federal restrictions?

That definitely makes more sense.

No they aren't. We live with many restrictions in many aspects of our lives that don't curtail our freedoms. I fail to see how background checks are a "loss in freedom". Sorry....that is a huge stretch.

And with each, you are less free. I never stated all restrictions curtailed freedoms. I asked which you were willing to give up?

Re: The Senate has defeated a compromise proposal to expand background checks on fire

Which exists entirely in your own head since by your own admission there is no such thing in that bill. Such fears of things which are not there are normally filed under the category of paranoia.
Incrementalism is in the mind of every left winger who supports even "just a little" gun control. Daily Kos: How to Ban Guns: A step by step, long term process I don't believe any "progressive" who says, I don't want to eliminate private ownership of firearms."

Loss of freedom is loss of choice. If you restrict my actions, you've restricted my freedom. And to do so, you need sound argument, proof, and data.

Re: The Senate has defeated a compromise proposal to expand background checks on fire

This whole situation was an exploitation of a tragedy. It was the President's, as well as other Dems, intent to move something through the Senate and have it go nowhere in the House to use in the 2014 election cycle. That's why the President was so angry last night. He just lost one of his aces n the hole...
Hi Paul! I agree with that statement. If the bill had passed the democratically controlled senate we would have endured endless whining about the GOP house not passing it in the house. Politicizing all the way! Geaux Tigers!
