This is a prime example of the games the GOP are playing. They have been preaching for years now that if we are going to have real entitlement reform you have to place medicare and Social Security on the table. But when Obama actual does so this is what happens.....

Wrong ? Stockton's just fine then ? California's massive unfunded liabillities are going to be just taken care of I suppose.

With more and more illegals and a shrinking middle class Im sure California will turn out just fine.

I think every last Liberal Californian, illegals included should be forced out of that state and pushed into Washington State against their will.

Then Conservatives could actually start to turn that state around.

Conservatives turn the state around? Surely you jest. Whenever Conservatives get into power they leave nothing but a mess for the Democrats to come in a clean up. We had a slew of horrible Republican Governors here. Finally, with a Democrat in the Governor's seat things are pretty good.

As for Stockton....Stockton has been a pithole for as long as I can remember.

No.....California is the crown jewel of the United States for good reason and those of us who are lucky enough to live here will remain....much to your chagrin and jealousy.

Second, you will have to be a complete fool to believe that you will get 100% of what you want in a two party governing system. Hell Reagan even knew that. It takes compromise. And when the President place his neck out there and place Social Security and medicare on the table, you can at least say hey at least this guy is trying to work with me.

We are five years into "this" guy and there is nothing in his budget worth discussion unless he proposes taking SS of budget where it belongs.

I love the way you guys found a word - "predatory" - and use it to blame Bush for the idiocy of your voting bloc. And I also love the way you ASSUME these were written to fail. Trust me, many of these loans are alive and well.

Personal responsibility. I know you guys hate that term, but those that live by it tend to not find themselves in these situations, and when we do, we don't blame anyone but ourselves.
