I think that is some case, it would be best for the parents to be informed, and in other cases, it would not. I think that it's best if we do not require pharmacists to make that decision
And again, making Plan B OTC for females under 17 says nothing about their sexual activity aside from acknowledging that it happens.
And when it happens, parents or someone responsible should be made aware so that they can talk to this child and find out why and what is going on in this child's life. THAT is the responsible thing to do. Not to send her to the pharmacy for some pills to prevent a pregnancy. Pregnancy is only PART of the problem. When things like this are going on, parents now have even LESS opportunity to be involved in a meaningful way in their children's lives.
They should have made a minimum age for this. I wonder how many here also support abortions at "any" age?
Edit to add: Abortions at any age WITHOUT parental knowledge and consent.
