Former Gov. Jeb Bush Not Ruling Out 2016 Campaign For Presidency

First I have often wondered how the country would look if Jeb had run instead of Dubya.

I see his change of heart on the Pathway issue as a step toward running with Tea Party support, I suppose trying to avoid the circular firing squad the Tea Party fostered in the last go-round. I would imagine he would be better at etch-a-sketch once he gets the GOP nomination. He has left himself some wiggle room on the issue, so he can be convinced to soften his position if he needs to.

2016 is a long way off in political years, much can/will happen between now and then.

Must see TV

I think he'd probably be a top tier candidate in the primary along with others like

Marco Rubio and Bob McDonnell. I also think Bush would have one of the better chances of the prospective Republicans to win in the general, despite the public's dislike for his brother.

The public doesn't dislike his brother, only the libs who made up the BS and the libs who believe the BS, dislike him.

That said I hope he doesn't.

Good evening, JC.

Jeb Bush was a very popular Governor in Florida, so I don't think the name will hurt him. This does not mean that the Left would spare any pains smearing him, though, but that is to be expected. The two Bush Presidents were different types of men, and Jeb has his own style of governing.

I'm having a typical Monday, whatever that means to anyone... :( More snow on its way...four to five more inches, I hear! You?

The left, Democrats are not going to vote for Jeb so all their what you call smearing probably won't him there. I do feel he could easily carry the independent/swing voters. What would you think of a Jeb Bush/Bob Portman ticket. those two together should easily be able to win both Florida and Ohio. with the addition of Florida and Ohio, along with all the states Romney carried last year that would put this duo at 253 Electoral votes. Just 17 shy of winning.

He has zero appeal outside the South and No one is ever going to buy a line from the NYT again along the lines that the GOP candidate seems the more "practical" choice-----------Not after what we've had to listen to for the last few years...................

George W. was a popular governor as well, and yes he won, but Jeb would run after two pretty unpopular Bush presidencies. Who knows.

We'll probably get grazed by the storm here, maybe an inch or two at most:) Sorry:(

My brothers are both Dem businessmen, but they did like both Bush men. My youngest brother even bemoaned the fact today that he had a lot more work under Bush2 than Obama. He said if phone bills didn't have to be paid if you didn't get calls regarding jobs to be done, he would not have had to pay his phone bill since December! First time that I can recall him being that honest, instead of being gung-ho BHO! Is this a small sign that BHO is losing some of his luster? We'll see....

JC, I seen a couple of flakes of snow yesterday morning down here in Georgia. Schools closed and there was a rush in the store on milk and bread.

bush* left office with a 33% approval rating and a 66% disapproval rating. If that means he was well-liked, I hope the GOP runs a candidate that is as well-liked as bush*

I think it is and I think it'll get worse for Obama, as the economy has obviously been stagnant, but also the sequester doesn't make him look good either.

And BO was re-elected with the sum total of his accomplishments sumed up in one plattitude " Osama Died, GM Lived ".

America is getting dumber.

That's pretty funny:) We've been lucky here in Michigan, much luckier than Polgara in Ohio, as the snow hasn't been too bad. The real bummer here in January and February is usually the constant driving on ice, but this year has been pretty good. I don't know how they do it in the Rockies.

Do you mean BHO blaming Bush for his problems? Neither Bush used that excuse to excuse their shortcomings, to my knowledge. When they left office, you didn't hear any criticism from them about how the new President was doing. They stayed out of it. As a matter of fact, the elder Bush and Clinton worked together on humanitarian projects...can you imagine that? :)

The days of Dems voting for GOP candidates are over and done with, methinks.............Afterall, it was the "Reagan Democrats" who issued in this nightmare...................

How come Jeb doesn't have that Texan accent like George?

To borrow AP's saying....Hrumph! :) Sorry, AP, I couldn't resist....:lamo

You know I pay close attention to your thinking, Pero. I like your thoughts on this! Portman is very popular in Ohio :)

yeah, no Rockies for me. Sometimes when there is only a threat of snow schools and a lot of business closes down. But when you only get snow about once every ten years, there isn't much money invested in snow removal equipment. Last night it got down to 25 and that is darn cold for down here. Heck this is March and we should have temps in the 60's and lows in the 40's.

Portman is the kind of Republican the Tea Party wants to get rid of...........just saying..........................

yeah, I can't believe I am looking at 2016 all ready. I haven't even begun on the 2014 senate races. 2014 is another chance for the GOP to take over the Senate. With Rockerfeller retiring in West Virginia that should be a pick up seat for the GOP. But who knows, in the past the GOP has been their own worst enemy. The nomination of O'Donnell and Angle cost them 2 seats in 2010, Akin and Mourdock 2 more in 2012 and their statements probably cost them in Montana, North Dakota and Virginia.

Snow is a four letter word down here.

Here, too! It's just that we tend to whisper it to avoid retaliation from Mother Nature showing us what else she can do... :)

Yep! We'll have to muzzle some of them...it's too bad that an entire party can be paintbrushed, but it happens on both sides! :(

I was out working in the back yard today, I noticed the grass needs cutting. But that is a good sign that winter is over here. It also means the beginning of tornado season.

I don't think so. He's fiscally very conservative! :)

They do dislike him. You can argue whether or not they have legitimate grounds to dislike him or not, but that doesn't change the fact he is very unpopular.
